After looking at many charters companies, I decided to go with land end charters. The company is well laid out and I felt I could trust them to assure my trip would be successful. Their pricing is also very competitive with others. I liked their option to go all inclusive and have everything included so there were no surprise charges at the end of the trip. It's hard not compare these guys with our last fishing experience. After 8 hours of trolling in HIGH HEAT, we ended up getting a nibble and one small catch. We're supposed to get 10 baits but they only had 5 on-board and 1 in the water. The rest were trolling lures. I wish we remembered who took us out the last time. We were only at the 3 hr mark when we got a double header of dorado, a shark, and a few tuna. Our deck man was pretty darn good back then. This time, we had two guys and it's just not cutting it for us. We paid over $700 USD for this trip. I'm just glad we saw lots of dolphins, some turtles, and sea lions. Otherwise, it was a complete waste of time and money. read more

Well for today's adventure I took my folks deep sea fishing in Cabo. Lands End Charters took fantastic care of us helping them check off a bucket list item for these newbies. From the booking to the boat they were flawless. The directions in the email made it very easy to find...I watched the YouTube video provided to help me find my way because I'm "geographically challenged". I literally played then paused as I took each turn! Haha...silly but we made it. The fellas in the office were all prepared and had everything ready when we arrived. I know nothing about fishing so I had to ask them what to fish for and any recommendations. They made me feel like family. Had lunches and drinks all packed and walked us directly to our boat when it was ready. Capitan Martin and his Deckhand Sergio on the "Big Kahuna III" welcomed us with big smiles. Once we had a fish on the line they taught us the skills needed to reel our fish in. They were patient and helpful. My parents are up there in age so when my mom was struggling Sergio was such a gentleman and gave her just enough assistance when she needed it. All while cheering her on to keep going. The captain was spot on with his skills creating a synergy between him and the person on the fishing pole. The food and company were great with breathtaking views of the coast. When we arrived back at the Marina a staff member met us and walked us back...even found us a great place to eat. My parents were like "wow, white glove service". Couldn't have asked for a better experience. If you are in Cabo and want to fish, then this is "THE" place. read more

We booked a half day charter on Big D and our captain/one man show was Victor. The booking process was easy and communication via chat through the website was simple and Jenny answered all my questions. It was just two of us so the boat was plenty for us. They send you lots of information in confirmation emails etc so make sure to read it thoroughly. We paid via PayPal prior to and it was simple. Tipped ~12% the day of to captain in cash. The box lunches ended up being plenty for a half day trip. There was a mini breakfast burrito and a chicken or beef burrito plus a piece of fruit, chips and snack bar in each. We grabbed a coffee from the marina market beforehand and used the bathroom there one last time. There is a small portable toilet on Big D (think a glorified bucket) but it's definitely not ideal. We ended up buying ice at the market to ice down our drinks. I was concerned from previous reviews about drinks not being on ice. Victor did end up getting one large ice block from the bait boat but it would not have done much. Fishing wise: We started off trolling really close to the shore for an hour or so and all we were catching was more skipjack that we kept for more bait. Then we went a little further out and finally saw more boats there and switched to live bait. I caught a hammerhead shark on live bait but had no other bites. About four hours in we switched back to trolling and crossed to the other side of the harbor. No luck trolling again. Gave the live bait one more chance and right after Victor said we only had about 5 mins left my husband hooked up a striped marlin. Brought it in quickly and it was a quick catch and release. I wish he would have let us bring it on the boat atleast for a quick picture (as I have now seen that they do on their Instagram etc) but it still turned what was a bust of a fishing trip into worthwhile. Overall they were a professional fishing charter and everything went smoothly. Next time I'd think I'd get a little bigger/nicer of a boat with more cabin space vs a small v berth but we still enjoyed ourselves. read more

Ok so this is one of those charters where you go out and see the Arch, cruise the end of Baja, see some turtles, rays, whales and their babies, then get skunked fishing and feed your bait to seagulls and sea lions on the way back. NOT! We did all that, but then Captain Victor and Rafael added a 120lb Marlin on our laps, and another one chasing us. Thank goodness the second wasn't hungry because neither of us had the arms for it after fighting the first one for 50 minutes (and watching it swim away safely. "Big D" is the perfect fishing boat for two people. And Victor knows what he's doing. Rafael presented a perfect boat, managed the lines, taught us technique, and worked his fingers off. Boat was spotless. We've done every kind big or small, and for a private experience for two people this could not have gone better. We are going out again mañana for Pez Gallo. Will post that and some pics then. read more

We chartered La Gringa in early July 2022. It was an experience for the books. The staff was top notch from beginning to end. I communicated with Jenny for booking and had to make a few changes over the months. She was always on top of it. The staff completely supported our experience. We were celebrating a bride with 10 of her closest family and friends. It was amazing! The tacos were delicious and served at the perfect time. We all kept talking about the guacamole as well. If we are able to visit Cabo again, we will rent a boat from Lands End and send all of our friends and family this way! Thank you for setting the tone for this bachelorette week. DON'T CARE ABOUT SAFTEY OF PASSENGERS AND FORGED SIGNATURE!!! I had booked a private yacht with Jenny a week before going to Cabo. When I booked, and with it being hurricane season in Cabo, I asked her if the conditions are unsafe to go out, would we get a refund for our deposit. She confirmed that yes if the conditions are unsafe, we would get a refund. Fast forward to day off, we can see a storm is coming in and also see it on weather apps. I text Jenny and let her know of our concerns, and she says no the weather is just fine and if you decide not to go on she will charge me the full amount to card on file (which I also did not consent to saving my card info to their files). We speak to the locals and the concierge at our hotel and they told us they have closed most water activities and that it would be very unsafe for us to go out there. No matter how much I tried to express this concern to Jenny, she did not care and get reiterating that she would charge us the full amount. No concern for our safety or our lives. Mind you, she lives in America and does not even know what is happening in Cabo. I call in and spoke to an employee who actually lives in Cabo and he agreed that it is definitely unsafe for us to be out there with the weather conditions as it was pouring rain and super windy. We decided not to go as we value our lives and did not want to risk it. I then notice that once our time for going on the boat comes, I get an email with documents where they forged my signature as if I was there and present. They commuted FRAUD which is definitely not okay and a crime being that this is an American company. I have attached videos of the weather conditions on this day. The much larger boat than our yachts that were out in the water with NO passengers were getting crushed by the waves. And according to Jenny "this is totally normal and safe conditions for us to be out there." No morals or value for peoples lives. Just money hungry. So sad read more

My family and I have used lands in charters many times and I've never been disappointed once!!! Everyone on and off the boats is always so helpful and accommodating. During our yacht experience on happy endings we had the best food, drinks, views, and laughs. We also saw dolphins and whales while watching the sunset and got a great photo of our family in front of the arch. We also have gone on fishing trips multiple times with them and they pack cold beer and lunches and take care of everything. Very expensive boat ride and sandwich. Captain and mate both spoke English just fine but there was no communication as we trolled around for hours at a fast pace. Always easy to blame the fish but a good guide company will let you know before heading out whether or not you should stay in for different species. No apology when met at the dock by the host, just a prompt to tip the crew. Will be back to Cabo but never again with Lands End. read more

Had the most disappointing Experience 03/9/21 Boat Name: "Whata Journey" 8 hours 4 Experienced fisherman Pro's - Reservation process Fish processing people Day of Meeting - Greeter Fruit bar in lunch Con's - Capt. & Mate - Spoke very little English - Communication unclear Trolling at fast rate of speed with bate above the water 3 hours disaster. Bottom fishing remaining time Captain and Mate literally fished for 40 minutes. Captain gives up his rod... later I ask in my minimal Spanish, why only (1) rod for 4 fisherman. He says, all the other rods were set up for trolling. I then ask him, what about the rod the mate is fishing with? The captain then says, ask him for it then...??? What? We had then 2 rods, and a third rod came out with a larger set up... we caught 4 Bonita in the Sea of Cortez, all small, so at least we weren't skunked. The mate wasn't helpful during the entire trip. The worst - Food and beverages, no mention of it until we asked, and there were 24 cans of Beer and Coke in a dirty cooler with a 8x 8 block of ice. No water at all. The "food" provided was in the lower cabin, unrefrigerated, and was very unappetizing. Soggy foil wrapped cooked burritos, fruit, chips, fruit bar. The head had NO water to wash your hands, no hand sanitizer. An overall very disappointing investment for a dream vacation excursion. read more

We booked an 8 hour trip on the Viviana II with Captain Victor. From booking online to helping us get our catch cooked and package everything was easy, pleasant. Five Stars all the way. Although my husband was disappointed it wasn't marlin season, Victor was completely honest about it and he had us on fish all day long from first thing in the morning until it was time to go back to the marina. We brought our two kids under 10 and the day was great for them as well. We will definitely be booking again with Lands End and going with Victor!! read more

Disappointing. I booked this charter for my Dad, my boyfriend, and myself. The women at the front desk were very nice and welcoming, but the deck hand and captain were not. They barely interacted with us and seemed like they rather be doing something else.. I don't think they spoke more than a handful of words to us- they didn't ask where we were from, how we were doing, or anything. Language barrier was not an issue as I speak Spanish. The majority of the trip was just trolling. We only had a few pieces of live bait, and some died before they were even brought out. You're supposed to get 10 pieces. My Dad had his eye on the lines and had to ask the deck hand several times to check because it looked like we were getting bites. The deck hand was on his phone, sitting far away, not watching the lines. The captain told him what to do a lot, also. Maybe he was new? Still strange not to be helpful. It felt like we took on a stranger to hang out on the boat with us for the 8 hr trip rather than a crew member. There was a small portable toilet down below, but no toilet paper or hand sanitizer available.. also, we brought two 6-packs of beer on board, and when we got back, the captain seemed to think they belonged to him and that we were trying to take them from him! I had to keep asking him to hand them to me, and he still kept some. Very odd. Then, when we got back, the captain and deck hand just stared at us. They didn'thelp us off the boat or anything. I could tell they were going to be upset if we didn't tip them. Of course I had a tip ready for them, but no "thank you, hope you had fun, see you later, goodbye". The captain took the money and turned away. The guys who cleaned and processed our 2 fish were more welcoming and warm to us! I would not recommend going with this outfit-or ask for someone other than Victor and Sammy. Booking this charter as a gift to my Dad was the whole reason we came to Cabo and it was a huge disappointment. read more

I am an avid fisherman from southern California and was visiting for a bachelor party. I booked this charter letting the staff know that I was interested in an inshore/bottom fishing trip and during the call to confirm the trip, I also expressed my interest for an inshore/bottom fishing trip. I felt like I got the message across. When we arrived at the shop to head down to the dock, I again confirmed my interest in an inshore trip. We headed to the dock and I noticed trolling tackle on the boat. No real sign of equipment needed for inshore/bottom fishing. Right away I was disappointed. I even talked to the deck hand and captain about going for inshore fish or bottom fishing. They gave an answer of they don't get to go trolling often and that's what we should start with. After 5 hours of trolling with no success, we headed to a bottom fishing spot. They didn't have enough rods for everyone to participate in bottom fishing and they didn't have any heavy jigs or heavier sinkers than 2oz weights. The current was really strong and I would have gone with an 8oz weight. After an unsuccessful attempt at bottom fishing, we put on some fly lines with live bait but ended using them to troll the shore. After that, we headed out to deeper water to troll for bonito. Luckily we caught a few but in doing so, I found myself pulling out rats nests on backed up reels and helping the rest of the bachelor party get on some fish. Overall, I was unsatisfied with the experience and would probably go with a different charter or just got to Puerto Vallarta next time. read more

This is a tough review for me to write. I fished on 2 different boats, 2 different days, 2 different captains. Day 1: Captain Jose and 1st mate Alberto on the Viviana, Great guys. Tried hard for us. We SAW tons of Yellowfin Tuna. We had just 1 bite and landed a 25 pounder. No real complaints other than a late start. We were there waiting at 620 am, didn't head out until almost 7 am. Times are 100% accurate. Maybe their watches don't work. Day 2: fished a panga with a different Captain Jose. Arranged the afternoon before for 10 small baits for Roosterfish. What did we get? 7 baits. All but 2 of them were WAY too big for the small Roosterfish here now. We did land 1 Roosterfish - out of the dozens we saw that could not eat the big baits. Complained about the bait and was offered a $6 refund for the 3 baits we were shorted. Clearly, they don't get it. So very disappointing. So, the Captains, Jose, Jose and the mate Alberto - 4 stars. The managers - 1 star. Buyer beware. I LOVE the mention of the website disclaimer. Maybe the managers shouldn't offer guarantees of small baits - when I specifically asked. We would have fished for something else. Communication, honest communication, is all I'm looking for when I pay for a service. Excuses are weak, and ineffective. Adios! read more

This is our second charter with Lands End. The first time we caught & had a great guide, it was an inshore fishing trip also. Today we caught 6 Mahi Mahi (released 2). We booked the Big Kahuna 3 with the hopes of catching a marlin. Our host did inform us that they are a harder fish to catch sometimes so he said we could try for smaller fish at first just so we don't come back completely empty handed. We also booked this boat for the bathroom on board. It is SMALL, but does the job, we did a 5 hour charter so for me (a lady) it wasn't a big deal to visit it once during the trip. They provided ice, waters, beer and food. It's a simple lunch but honestly I wouldn't want a heavy meal out on the water. The boat did have minimal seating, it was only my husband and I so it wasn't too big of a deal but if you're traveling with more than 2-3 I would get a different boat. Martin & Marcos were our guides and helped us in our fights with the Mahi Mahi & we were happy with their service. When we come back to Cabo we will more than likely book with again, but a bigger boat for the Marlins! read more

Marlin! Marlin! Marlin! I would highly recommend a trip with Lands End in Cabo. From Cabo Greg, to Hiram handling everything at the dock, to the incredible crews I went out with on "Viviana" and "La Duena". I was very impressed. I've been out sport fishing in Maui, Kauai, Oahu, Mazatlan, and now Cabo. Lands End is by far at the top of my list! Of course, it doesn't hurt that I caught fish, lol ! First day I got 2 Bonita and 1 Sierra with Victor aboard Viviana. I lost a striped Marlin as well, totally my fault. I was super bummed!! I decided to go out again (glad I did) , I caught 3 striped Marlin aboard La Duena with Felipe and Eduardo. They were extremely good fishermen! They helped watch/entertain my 4 yr old son as I was busy fishing. I'm extremely grateful! I kept the first one (98" and 130 lbs.) and caught and released the next 2. Hiram helped me arrange a wall mount through Gray Taxidermy and he also helped me get some of the meat smoked while in Cabo. They helped me achieve a longtime dream!!! Fantastic fishing with the experts! These guys want to catch fish and catch lots of them! They took excellent care of us from start to finish. Everything was well organized and we had the best time. Very patient with those of us that were newbies but still catered to the more experienced in the group as well. They asked us what we wanted to catch and away we went! Wow! The day after arriving from Alaska, we caught a Marlin and a Dorado. It was slow at first, but the crew never gave up, and by mid day, we were all smiles. The lunches were delicious, the boat was in tip top shape, and the crew didn't rest from the time we left the harbor in the morning, till we were stepping off the boat in the early afternoon. I spent a small fortune renting out a yacht for my proposal last weekend in Cabo San Lucas and am very unhappy with my experience with Land's End Charters. To begin with, as soon as I landed I received a frantic voicemail and email telling me that my original yacht had caught fire, so I had to pay an upcharge for a "nicer" boat or cancel my reservation. The company knew that it was for a proposal, so instead of eating the cost themselves, as the issue was on their end, they held me hostage making me pay the difference. Additionally, I had worked on a custom menu for the meal (with a hefty surcharge), and the menu was completely wrong and missing key ingredients with cheaper substitutes. When I asked Jenny after the fact, she simply said they could not source the ingredients instead of communicating with me earlier so I could make adjustments. Lastly, I paid a high premium for a professional photographer to capture the moment. Our photographer mysteriously broke his nice camera the day of the charter so he was using a digital camera that looked like something out of 2007. On top of this, he even missed the proposal! The pictures that he did get turned out blurry and unsatisfactory. This is something that you only do once, and they put roadblocks in at every step of the way instead of trying to make my proposal easier. To top it all off, Jenny texted me later that night asking for a tip...it's pretty clear that they will cut costs at your expense. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

Met Harami at 8 am around the docks to get situated. I had missed an email from Greg, Land's End coordinator, the day before about what we wanted for food and drink; responded to the email late that night and they still had it all waiting in the morning for us. Right on the Big Kahuna II where we met Nayo. Super nice. Super knowledgeable. We fish often on Cape Cod and it was great to talk about his style of fishing vs ours. Nayo's english was good and easy to have conversations. Immediately we saw striped marlin being caught around us and we trolled for half the day and then sent down live bait. We battled sea lion's stealing our bait. With one hour to go, Nayo offered to change spots to put us on some easy to catch fish but we really wanted the grand prize marlin! A few minutes later we had a big striped marlin on the line and landed him in the boat. Nayo was great with the leader and brought the fish in for a picture! All in all a great experience - the boat was sluggish but for the close fishing grounds it was perfect. Would recommend. read more

These guys really work their asses off to make sure everyone that goes out with them is taken care of and has a good time out on the water! Communication was great leading up to the trip made sure everything was set up and ready to go on arrival. Went out on one pre planned day on big kahuna II and then the next day in hopes of redemption Day 1 big kahuna... Captain Edgar tried his butt off to go after a Marlin. Saw many boats hitting just wasn't our day but the captain and mate really did give it their all just couldn't get the fish to bite Day 2 La Duena... Captain Felipe trolled all over in search of some big game fish. We switch lures seemed like every 20 minutes in hopes of finding something the fish would like. Again just a bad luck day for me but the crew did give it all in trying to get me the fish I came to Cabo looking for. Cabo Greg was great the whole process comped me a shirt and major discount on the second day on the water after the first tough one. Wish I would have hooked a fish but have to remember it's fishing and that happens. Hope to be back on the water with better luck with these guys some day in the future. read more

We just got back from a four hour trip on the 35 ft catamaran. It was the highlight of our week in Cabo! I can't say enough good things about the crew. They worked so hard to make the trip amazing. We saw whales, had great snorkeling, and cruised all over the place. Ample food and drinks. The booking process was really easy. We will definitely do this again when we come back to Cabo!
