Amazing fishing charter! Everyone from the agent Melissa who took my reservation to the crew in the office at the Marina in Cabo were very professional and helpful. Captain Roberto on the Big Kahuna 2 made it a memorable fishing expedition! Caught Dorado's and an 80lb Stripped Marlin that was released. Nice touch presenting me with a Catch & Release Certificate upon getting of the boat! What a great Birthday!! Highly recommend Lands End Charters!! Happy Fishing!!!!

We booked a half day charter on Big D and our captain/one man show was Victor. The booking process was easy and communication via chat through the website was simple and Jenny answered all my questions. It was just two of us so the boat was plenty for us. They send you lots of information in confirmation emails etc so make sure to read it thoroughly. We paid via PayPal prior to and it was simple. Tipped ~12% the day of to captain in cash. The box lunches ended up being plenty for a half day trip. There was a mini breakfast burrito and a chicken or beef burrito plus a piece of fruit, chips and snack bar in each. We grabbed a coffee from the marina market beforehand and used the bathroom there one last time. There is a small portable toilet on Big D (think a glorified bucket) but it's definitely not ideal. We ended up buying ice at the market to ice down our drinks. I was concerned from previous reviews about drinks not being on ice. Victor did end up getting one large ice block from the bait boat but it would not have done much. Fishing wise: We started off trolling really close to the shore for an hour or so and all we were catching was more skipjack that we kept for more bait. Then we went a little further out and finally saw more boats there and switched to live bait. I caught a hammerhead shark on live bait but had no other bites. About four hours in we switched back to trolling and crossed to the other side of the harbor. No luck trolling again. Gave the live bait one more chance and right after Victor said we only had about 5 mins left my husband hooked up a striped marlin. Brought it in quickly and it was a quick catch and release. I wish he would have let us bring it on the boat atleast for a quick picture (as I have now seen that they do on their Instagram etc) but it still turned what was a bust of a fishing trip into worthwhile. Overall they were a professional fishing charter and everything went smoothly. Next time I'd think I'd get a little bigger/nicer of a boat with more cabin space vs a small v berth but we still enjoyed ourselves.

    Beautiful and safely released

Ok so this is one of those charters where you go out and see the Arch, cruise the end of Baja, see some turtles, rays, whales and their babies, then get skunked fishing and feed your bait to seagulls and sea lions on the way back. NOT! We did all that, but then Captain Victor and Rafael added a 120lb Marlin on our laps, and another one chasing us. Thank goodness the second wasn't hungry because neither of us had the arms for it after fighting the first one for 50 minutes (and watching it swim away safely. "Big D" is the perfect fishing boat for two people. And Victor knows what he's doing. Rafael presented a perfect boat, managed the lines, taught us technique, and worked his fingers off. Boat was spotless. We've done every kind big or small, and for a private experience for two people this could not have gone better. We are going out again mañana for Pez Gallo. Will post that and some pics then.

    Pancho! The best buddy!

My family and I have used lands in charters many times and I've never been disappointed once!!! Everyone on and off the boats is always so helpful and accommodating. During our yacht experience on happy endings we had the best food, drinks, views, and laughs. We also saw dolphins and whales while watching the sunset and got a great photo of our family in front of the arch. We also have gone on fishing trips multiple times with them and they pack cold beer and lunches and take care of everything. Greg and his team are the best and I ALWAYS recommend them when someone is headed down to Cabo

Had the most disappointing Experience 03/9/21 Boat Name: "Whata Journey" 8 hours 4 Experienced fisherman Pro's - Reservation process Fish processing people Day of Meeting - Greeter Fruit bar in lunch Con's - Capt. & Mate - Spoke very little English - Communication unclear Trolling at fast rate of speed with bate above the water 3 hours disaster. Bottom fishing remaining time Captain and Mate literally fished for 40 minutes. Captain gives up his rod... later I ask in my minimal Spanish, why only (1) rod for 4 fisherman. He says, all the other rods were set up for trolling. I then ask him, what about the rod the mate is fishing with? The captain then says, ask him for it then...??? What? We had then 2 rods, and a third rod came out with a larger set up... we caught 4 Bonita in the Sea of Cortez, all small, so at least we weren't skunked. The mate wasn't helpful during the entire trip. The worst - Food and beverages, no mention of it until we asked, and there were 24 cans of Beer and Coke in a dirty cooler with a 8x 8 block of ice. No water at all. The "food" provided was in the lower cabin, unrefrigerated, and was very unappetizing. Soggy foil wrapped cooked burritos, fruit, chips, fruit bar. The head had NO water to wash your hands, no hand sanitizer. An overall very disappointing investment for a dream vacation excursion.

We booked an 8 hour trip on the Viviana II with Captain Victor. From booking online to helping us get our catch cooked and package everything was easy, pleasant. Five Stars all the way. Although my husband was disappointed it wasn't marlin season, Victor was completely honest about it and he had us on fish all day long from first thing in the morning until it was time to go back to the marina. We brought our two kids under 10 and the day was great for them as well. We will definitely be booking again with Lands End and going with Victor!!

This is our second charter with Lands End. The first time we caught & had a great guide, it was an inshore fishing trip also. Today we caught 6 Mahi Mahi (released 2). We booked the Big Kahuna 3 with the hopes of catching a marlin. Our host did inform us that they are a harder fish to catch sometimes so he said we could try for smaller fish at first just so we don't come back completely empty handed. We also booked this boat for the bathroom on board. It is SMALL, but does the job, we did a 5 hour charter so for me (a lady) it wasn't a big deal to visit it once during the trip. They provided ice, waters, beer and food. It's a simple lunch but honestly I wouldn't want a heavy meal out on the water. The boat did have minimal seating, it was only my husband and I so it wasn't too big of a deal but if you're traveling with more than 2-3 I would get a different boat. Martin & Marcos were our guides and helped us in our fights with the Mahi Mahi & we were happy with their service. When we come back to Cabo we will more than likely book with again, but a bigger boat for the Marlins!

    Striped Marlin , 98" and 130 lbs.

Marlin! Marlin! Marlin! I would highly recommend a trip with Lands End in Cabo. From Cabo Greg, to Hiram handling everything at the dock, to the incredible crews I went out with on "Viviana" and "La Duena". I was very impressed. I've been out sport fishing in Maui, Kauai, Oahu, Mazatlan, and now Cabo. Lands End is by far at the top of my list! Of course, it doesn't hurt that I caught fish, lol ! First day I got 2 Bonita and 1 Sierra with Victor aboard Viviana. I lost a striped Marlin as well, totally my fault. I was super bummed!! I decided to go out again (glad I did) , I caught 3 striped Marlin aboard La Duena with Felipe and Eduardo. They were extremely good fishermen! They helped watch/entertain my 4 yr old son as I was busy fishing. I'm extremely grateful! I kept the first one (98" and 130 lbs.) and caught and released the next 2. Hiram helped me arrange a wall mount through Gray Taxidermy and he also helped me get some of the meat smoked while in Cabo. They helped me achieve a longtime dream!!! High class charter, I would definitely recommend Lands End!

Great trip, booked through Hiram Bernal who answered the phone on a holiday. Our skipper was Jose and deck mate Pepe(Viviano). We caught a 125# marlin, sea bass and rockfish. Also saw dolphins , whales and some pretty dam fat sea lions who greet you on your way home !

I've gone out with Land's end Charters now 4 times and let me tell you these guys are amazing! They take care of everything you need from the minute you decide to contact them! Booking is smooth with Cabo Greg and Jenny are there to answer all your questions leading up to the day you go out with them. I personally love going out on Big Kahuna II Captain Edgar and Nayo are some of the best fisherman in all of Cabo! They will target whatever kind of fish you desire to catch! I caught more than enough fish with them! Would recommend everyone to go out with these amazing guys! They know all the best spots to go to in order to catch your next trophy fish! Will be going out with them for years to come! Wouldn't pick anyone else to go fishing with in Cabo

The first mate would drop down to bait and let out then line and then go back up with captain. Didn't talk or give any direction to us at all - and I had three newbies to fishing so I was giving hints and what to look for , and I'm no expert. When we hooked tuna, first mate would drop down and tell us to reel. Then he'd gaff the tuna, slop into the box, then reset the line and go back up. I regret not saying we'd like a picture or anything. He was all business, land fish, put in box, let out line, then he was gone Same thing with the marlin. We were so excited to hook one and he'd tell us to reel, pull, repeat until we got it the side of the boat. I had to say we want a few pics before we release him, which seemed ok to first mate, but I felt this too was rushed. Back at the dock, same thing. It felt like get off board fast, fillet, give tip, then we are done. I had to get a bit pushy just to get one pic. So if want to get fish these guys delivered. Avoid this company…read more We are vacationing in Cabo for the first time. We read the good reviews and we made reservations with Juan Carlos for the larger boat for a half day of fishing at $550 without buying the boxed lunch. We were transferred to another guy who walked us to the dock and transferred again to our captain (Santiago) and deckhands (Brandon and Gus(?)). We spent the first several hours trawling top water baits presumably for marlin. At one point the captain hooked one and set the hook and reeled it in some. After he did the fun part he passed the pole to me. Before I could hold the pole and start reeling the fish got off the line. That was as close to getting a fish we got all day. At some point they switched to bottom fishing with live bait but got no bites. We could see other boats around us landed fish. When we arrived back to the docks the other boats succeeded in catching themselves "sushi." The captain and deckhands were nice enough, but spoke zero English. Their Spanish was unintelligible as I am an OK Spanish speaker but they were both hard to understand and not interested to talk. The captain and deckhands did not communicate, did not tell us the plan for the day, could not explain what to do with the equipment. We basically watched them fish all morning and almost didn't get to touch the rods ourselves. Our family of four felt like spectators. They had about 8-10 live fish in the well for the entire ride. When they ran out of live bait our trip was over. I feel like it would have been more appropriate to have more bait available at this price point so that we wouldn't go home empty handed. Also, there's a sign on the boat announcing you're expected to add a 25-30% tip. We complied with tipping with no questions asked despite no communication, no teaching, and no fish. I had told the kids in advance that we would catch a fish and take it to a restaurant to eat that night like other reviewers. Be aware that you could spend $550 before tip, watch the staff fish all day, not touch the equipment yourselves, and get skunked.

They helped orient us to the e-bikes and helped us when we were having trouble staying steady on the bikes, especially on the loose sand. We also did a second tour the next day with the camel experience. It was very nice. We got to take pics with the camels and take a ride on them to the beach. After both excursions we had a Mexican lunch that consisted of mole chicken, ribs, rice, beans, salad, veggies, watermelon, fries, fried chicken tenders, cheese tortillas, beer, margaritas, tamarind water and hibiscus tea. At the end of the e-bikes we had a brief tequila making session at the end with tastings of tequila. After the camel experience we got a tutorial on how to make a corn tortilla like they did back in the day and tequila tastings. We got a chance to buy pics but it was super expensive. The first day we paid $60 to get pics and a video of the excursion. Today we paid more than 3 times that amount for pictures and video after the camel excursion. The company Cabo Adventures is a total scam and preys on vulnerable families. I will NEVER use them again for any other activity despite us coming to Cabo every year. I encourage every one from Yelp not to use them as well. Each ticket cost over $200 per person to be part of a group dolphin experience. This is not even private. A child MUST be accompanied by an adult so that forces more people to join. You think after spending over $800 for 4 people they would treat us like royalty right? WRONG. They do not mention any photo pricing online because they don't want to scare you away before you purchase your tickets. But let me tell you, it's an all or nothing photo package (you cannot pick a few or buy per picture) and it was over $500!!!!!! The b*tch working at the photo center must get off on making kids cry because when you call her out on the ridiculous prices, she shuts off the computer, takes her booklet, and says "ok good bye, there's the door". They do not negotiate at all because they know you have no other option. It's truly heartless. How insulting after we just spent $800 just on the tickets for a 30 min SHARED experience. They allow observers who are not doing the dolphin experience but they conveniently put them far away from where the dolphins are so it's impossible for them to take any pictures or video. Note: females you are NOT allowed to have anything in your hair such as hair ties or clips which there is no mention online or even when you check in. They don't give a reason why and it really sucked because the day we went it was super windy and our hair went everywhere ruining a lot of the photos plus making it hard to see in the water with hair in your face. My poor daughter had to take out her cute braids :/ Many other great and reasonable experiences. Go elsewhere and do NOT support Cabo adventures. Shame on you guys. UPDATE: I'd like to respond to the manager Lorena who tries to justify these ridiculous prices instead of listening to her customers' feedbacks and making adjustments. No, it's not optional to get the photos because what's the point of doing this experience if you do not have pictures to keep as memories? Yes, I understand there's safety regulations about not having cameras with us in the pool but forcing bystanders not in the pool to be over 100 ft away to take pictures which will be blurring, you leave us no choice but to purchase the photos. Nobody is asking for free photos but charging $500 is a scam. Even Disneyland only charges $80 for unlimited photos for a whole week! And respect gets respect. After spending over $800, YOUR employee is the one who was disrespectful to me first with her attitude about the price and not even trying to talk to your supervisor or work something out with me. Clearly, you only care about profit, not about customers leaving happy or having a good experience.

Now, our second trip was exactly what we were expecting. Easy check in process, personable captain (Reuben was great!!!) everything matched the description of the experience and website. We did end up catching a large Mahi Mahi but regardless if we caught anything or no; the experience was fantastic! On a well kept, boat that felt safe to be on. Captain did a lot of explanation of where we were going, what type of fish to expect, what to do if we did catch something and just generally held conversation well and kept us engaged even in slower parts of the day. We even saw dolphins, turtles and seals! Which was super cool but again regardless of just having a great day on the water with catching and seeing so much, Reuben made our experience fantastic!
