Dive Addicts is the shop that I would create if I had unlimited funds! A great shop to browse equipment and talk to knowledgeable staff. I first came to this shop looking to branch into technical diving. I started out with TDI: Intro to Tech and then took TDI: Sidemount Diver and then TDI: Nitrox. I loved those courses so much that I decided to go through Dive Addicts for Cave Diver training which says a lot considering that there aren't any caves suitable for training Cave Divers in Utah, and you typically travel to Florida for this training. I have had previous dive training in California, Texas and Utah. Now I take all of my training from Dive Addicts. My most recent course was TDI: Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures done at Lake Mead, NV. Excellent instructors who will take you under their wing and teach you long after your courses have finished. Who knows where my diving will take me. I might even be tempted to learn to dive rebreathers :) The best part about Dive Addicts is that they don't just teach the courses. They actually love to dive all of the courses that they teach, and they carry all of the gear that they choose to dive. It is a much different shop than traditionally found. Most shops sign up with one distributor and they push that gear on you. Dive Addicts had turned into their own distributor and offers the gear that they want to sell, not what the HAVE to sell. read more

Absolutely the best dive shop in Utah! My husband and I decided to get SCUBA certified and signed up to take classes at Dive Addicts. Scott and Janine Whitney were are instructors and they were fantastic! They made us feel very relaxed and safe in the water. We did our open water dive at The Crater in Midway and I am so grateful we chose Dive Addicts. We were in The Crater with another group and we were very surprised at how condescending their instructor was when his students when they asked questions. Not only that, but their equipment was really worn and out of date. Dive Addicts' equipment is BRAND NEW and top of the line! And Scot and Janine were always super respectful and kind when answering questions. We felt like they really wanted us to learn to love SCUBA...and we do! I have used Dive Addicts in several capacities. I have had several advanced training courses, purchased equipment, and had equipment services at Dive Addicts. I have been on two major dive trips planned, organized and executed by Dive Addicts. The trips came off perfectly as far as I am concerned. I have traded with almost all the dive shops in Weber, Davis and Salt Lake Counties over my 20 years of diving. There are several dive shops closer to my home, in fact Dive Addicts is further from me than any other dive shop in that three county area. I prefer Dive Addicts to all the others in the area. They are more professional, safety conscious, and skilled than anyone else in the area. In short, I am impressed. I would dive with any of their professional staff. I have been diving with Dive Addicts for about 5 years now and they are an awesome bunch of people. I have really enjoyed their dive-a-longs, and have participated in the Diveathon for the last 4 years and their spearfishing tournament for the past two years. They always have something going on and provide many opportunites to increase your skill level. I recently got certified through DA and enjoyed every minute! I had a fear of the water and they helped me through every step of the way. The instructors were fabulous and we will keep in touch through the dive alongs and the perks that come along with the certification. We got a great deal on the equipment during their sale! Their pool and equipment were well cared for and the computers are the greatest you could buy! I was super impressed and looked forward to every class! I have been on dive 4 dive trips with Dive Addicts and also purchased gear from the shop. In fact, my son just received his Jr. Open Water Certification! Dive Addicts has always been professional and have answered all my questions. Even when they couldn't service an old regulator of mine, they got me the information on where I could get it done. Living around the Draper area I never knew that Dive Addicts was just around the corner. I went into their store and was very impressed. They have everything you could ever want and more for you diving needs. They also have some great wet suits that make it easier for me than having to go down town where I used to go to get my items. I have been coming to this store for years now, and they are awesome! The staff is friendly, and very knowledgable. Its always fun to go see what new stuff they have. They have everything from masks and snorkels, to spearfishing and tech diving equipment. Nice - large shop. They are equipped to work with any level of scuba diver from Rec to Tec. I have had my regs serviced here last year and it was quick and painless. If you are looking to get certified in the intermountain west definitely give these guys a try. About my only complaint would be they are a little far south for me from Bountiful. But hey I guess you can't have everything. read more

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience at Dive addicts. I've been diving for 25 years and this was my daughters first time scuba diving. This is the Dive Shop for all divers. They have an amazing facility and knowledgable staff. If you can't find what you are looking for you probably don't need it! Kelton is great when it comes to spearfishing. He will even go out to the pool and jump in with you to test out your wet suit!! read more
