A friend of a friend is braiding my hair for me and told me to pick up some packs of hair. I found Diva Salon and supply on Yelp fairly close to my daughter's kung fu lesson and they answered the phone and told me they could help me with hair extensions. The actual location is on El Monte's Main Street area, formerly called Valley Mall. There's lots of discount shops - clothing, furniture, and a few different salons actually! Limited parking in front and several parking lots in the back. Anyway, Mari helped me and was patient and helpful. They sell other hair care supplies such as brushes, creams and serums. I booked an appointment for 3 pm, I show up 5 till, she had just sat someone else and I ask the girl if she had an app she said yes at 3, so basically The stylist double booked and when I asked her she said mine is just a cut and not a chemical and I will be out of there in 15 min. First of all I do not want someone to take only 15 min on my hair and to rush me in between her other appointment, she had 2 appointments at 3 pm and said she doesn't understand what I'm asking, I'm like dude you DOUBLE BOOKED, I drove from San Bernardino for this and to be treated like nothing. Girls, I have found my holy grail! This place is legitimately SO amazing. I literally walked out with HAPPY TEARS. First, here's a heartfelt shout out to Elizabeth because she is hilarious, so sweet, so tentative, so real, genuinely cares, and a freaking GODDESS with extensions/hair cuts. 5 months ago, a hairdresser at a different establishment bleached my hair and 85% of it fell off. I had bald patches everywhere with different lengths when I once had thick, voluminous hair. I knew I had to get extensions but was lacking the length to do anything.. So with countless nights spent crying and being insecure, I waited. In the meantime, I searched for a place that can install high quality extensions without breaking the bank. Finally, my once bald patches had about 2.5-3 inches of growth so I decided to come in. ABOUT THE STORE: They immediately warmly welcomed me when I stepped in. The store itself is so pristine and clean. The walls are lined with so many types of extensions in different lengths and colors. They also have synthetic and real human hair wigs! They do everything here from hair cuts, coloring, and extensions (sew ins, tape, and individual keratin micro-extensions). They also sell make up! EXPERIENCE: I seriously can't stop gushing about Elizabeth! I've never had extensions so she took her time to explain the difference between tape, sew ins, and individuals (keratin) as well as how long each of them last. She gave me the price options for each - WHICH WERE VERY FAIR (more on that below). We decided to go with the individuals since my hair was too short to braid or to really cover the tape extensions. For the hair, I ended up choosing 20" Brazillian Silky from Velvet. The install didn't take long at all and I spent most of it laughing with Elizabeth. My jaw literally dropped when she finished and I immediately became emotional. I have no idea how she did it but the extensions blend in seamlessly to what was like a botched pixie cut from before. We didn't finish my pack of hair so she gave me the rest back to use in a touch up when I come back. I am so obsessed with my hair and how good it looks. It really came out better than I'd even expected given what she had to work with. I am BEYOND happy and thrilled. They even gave me a gift bag (everyone that gets extensions will get one). PRICING: Individual keratin micro-extensions can be anywhere from $350-$600&up, tape extensions from $225-$300&up, and sew ins $225-$300&up. The prices included buying the hair, the install, and a haircut/styling. For more hair or if you want it colored, etc. the price goes up. Touch ups are considerably cheaper depending on if you can save the hair or how much extra hair you need. There's also different qualities of hair so I recommend stopping by to see what they have for your budget! This store is a little hidden gem and I am so happy that I found it! My mom had the worst experience ever she showed her example photo of the hair she wanted to the lady. The lady then said, "definitely! I can make it." She came out with her hair 3 different colors and that's not even 1% of what she asked for. Her excuse was, she "had" her half of her hair virgin and the other half was outgrow highlights. I understand the covid situation moneyis tight, but dont steal from you're customers which is how I feel.. I wanted an ombre without dying my hair. I wish they gave an honest opinion instead of taking my money. I trusted them which was not good. They know this was a shit job because they did not post it like they normally do when they like their work. I spent hundreds. Honestly down the drain. The hair I bought was supposed to be considered good quality. Very very bad quality feels like dead bleached hair, sheds worse than a cat and dog. My 1st Keratin Hair Extension experience. After several and I mean several hit and miss searches for Keratin Hair Extension installations I came in contact with Chanel. Chanel was confident and knowledgeable when it came to all my questions and concerns. I typically don't give people a hard time except for this time. I spent over $600 dollars on 7 bundles from Laced Hair Extensions which meant I wasn't chancing a new bee to get a hold of my hair. Not to mention once I got to the salon I saw how they sold a great variety of quality Remy hair extensions. Good to know in 4-5 months when it's time to come back. My friend told me about a place that she gets her hair done by a woman by the name of Chantel at Diva beauty salon . I did call and request a appointment with Chantel it was set for 12:45pm. I explained what I was looking to have do e and was quoted $65.00 for the hair and $65.00 for the install . So I thought ok that's a good price . I arrived st 12:40 and there were 2 ladies one was Chantel. Chantel did not know she had a appt at 12:45 since she was working on one lady and another waiting. So the one girl that does lashes helped me decided what I needed and she also priced me the same $65.00 hair $65.00 install. Well after waiting 2 hours it was my time. Chantel was nice but was distracted by helping people that came in. When my hair was done I was happy with the outcome, but when she rang me up it was $195.00 I asked why so much when I was told $130 for everything? She Chantel said no this is the price and I would have to talk to the one who made the appt. I wasn't too happy about that at all. went here for a weave and the lady was super sweet and had great customer service. When I was there she forgot that she was going to give me a weave and had a customer lined up right after me she started to panicked and rushed doing my hair. I trusted her since she has lots of experience doing hair. WELL in the beginning I started to notice a red scalp I messaged her and told me that since it was my first time it my scalp was not used to having all my hair in braids and having it pulled. I followed her instru toons put a little bit of oil and washed it exactly like she said following the schedule she told me. I started to notice a red scalp again and after a little over 3 weeks I decided to take it out. I went to a woman who knows my aunt and she was shocked by what she saw. Her work was unprofessional and they technique she used basically tangled my hair with the thread and that's why my scalp was red. After several hours we took the weave out but a bunch of my natural hair fell out and I was left with a bald spot. Honestly AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS SHE CHARGED ME 600 AND HER WORK WAS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE read more

Don't get eyelash extensions here! The lashes that are used are not individual, rather they are 4 lashes on a strip. So when they use these lashes they look very clumpy.. As seen on the picture I posted. The eyelashes weren't even attached close to my lash line. I understand busy day but to apply eyelashes it takes time and patience which none were presented. Elizabeth was in a rush. Also no eye pads were used so the glue got attached to my bottom lash line causing me to be unable to open my eye. In order for my eye to open I had to pull my eyelid causing me to rip my bottom lashes. Due to the excessive amount of glue used it got in my eye, and let me tell you it BURNS! overall this is a great place to get your hair done which is why I still gave it 3 stars just stay away from eyelash extensions. read more
