My 15 yo daughter went down to get nails done on her birthday. Her nails were down and pointing backwards. we asked for them to be redone and the owner became aggressive and violent with my daughter . I asked for a refund and for the to remove her hands from my daughter. Had to call the police. They expressed how they are there alot and would try but pretty much we were out our money. I avoided diva nails for 2 years after a bad experience last week I went back. The woman that did my feet burnt my toe with the nail dryer. The older man who did my acrylics was rude and bruised my nail bed on one of my fingers he slapped my hands around said nasty things in a language I didn't recognize I finally got upset and when he slapped my hand. I slapped the desk and he calmed down. He finished my nails and went out and spoke to cigarette. I spent $100 for a burnt toe and a bad experience and a bruised nail bed I also have a bruise on my arm from where he kept grabbing me to move my arm around so he can reach my finger. This is abusive place I do not recommend it. I am a professional that works in one of the hospitals nearby and I will not return. read more

Holy moly do not waste your money or time here. I asked for the deluxe pedicure which is $50 without the added $15 for gel. The deluxe is supposed to include a hot stone massage. Towards the end the pedicure the technicians swapped out. I got to the point where she was painting my nails and I said oh you don't do the hot stone anymore? She proceeded to ask the previous girl if she had done it and she said yes I did. I said no you didn't and she insisted she had. I'm not the type of person to argue with someone in the middle of a business so I just nodded my head and said hm. Next was my "dip" manicure. It included trimming my nail, filing the edges, and then the application of the polish. I did not realize how gross the process is. She did not have me wash my hands prior so everyone who receives this manicure is all sharing the powder. No massage, no cuticle clean up, I now have alien fingers. My mom was getting a pedicure at the same time and she received what looked like a lovely hot stone massage from a different technician. I did not let her get her nails done and we left. read more

I had an app to day for fullset and to get my toes but I was ready to leave minutes into my fullset. First problem I asked before my fullset to get my cuticles pushed up and cut before as I haven't had them done in a very long time. That was not done. I noticed how rough and uneven my fullset was now. Not to mention how rough the man was with my hands, filing hard and jerking me around, I asked him to be more gentle, but that was ignored as well. I popped in for a quick polish change. I had never been here before; they don't book appointments but I thought being there right at the opening would be ok. I hate giving bad reviews but this wasn't worth my time and money. almost 2 hours just to get a polish change and it smeared within 5 minutes of leaving. so irritating. my biggest issue was how filthy it was. layers of dirt, not dust, DIRT on everything. I have been going to this shop for years and have seen her attitude toward black customers and it does not reflect what I see towards other nationalities. My experience with one nail technician kept me coming back but after today I will never set foot in there. I tried this salon a few years ago and felt the staff at that time was extremely rude. Well I do believe that maybe I had a bad day last time so I needed a pedicure and was in a hurry so tried Diva Nails again. Well if possible the staff was worse today. When I walked in there were two other customers getting pedis, and there seemed to be several other staff so I asked for a pedicure and someone got up from near the back and said to take a seat, she then asked if I had a color, I handed it to her, she asked if I wanted my nails cut then never spoke again, till she said to sit and let the polish dry and I was done. That was bad but not as bad on the other staff talking and laughing and of course no one knew what they were saying. So guess I will chalk this up to absolutely never again. Went in for a dip manicure and they got me in right away. After i picked a color she didnt speak to me again. I had to ask her to shape my nails and cut down. After she was done she got up and left. It wasnt until i saw her working on someone else that i knew i was done. I asked for cuticle oil since my cuticles were on fire after she drilled them (manicure) and she rolled her eyes and said "really?" I am not one to leave a review but I will never go here again. This place is not a place to relax with a mini - pedi or massage, it's cluttered, employees and owner sleeping or lounging on chairs watching tv. You will not get pampered here, they mean business and you need to leave after their rush job. Wish I could give 0 stars. I REPEAT DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME. I have given this place too many chances. I've been disappointed by their service every single time. I don't have high expectations and am a very patient person but they have exceeded disappointment to the point where this review is necessary. When you walk in nobody is eager to even acknowledge you are there. They truly do not care if you are happy with the outcome of your nails which they work on so quick that the shape is always messed up. They overcharge with the hopes that you don't notice. The girl that works the front desk really needs an attitude check. I am completely shocked that this place is still in business. I only go here because the place I would rather go to is so busy (because they are an actual legitimate business that does an amazing job) and I HAVE to. THE WORST NAIL SALON EVER... my toe nail was so uneven to the point she kept filing and filing that my other foot toenail was MUCH longer than the other... she cut me with her cuticle cuter... I kept telling the nail tech that my toe nail was still un even after 18 times to the point where I said can I see the nail file so I could file it myself.. The manager? Im guessing comes over and literally SNATCHES the nail file from my hand files it rudely and still un even, told her now she has to file the other to keep them the same length, asked me if they were good now told her, "it's okay" literally lying.. I paid and just walked out with no color on my toes cause if you can't do square nails you clearly won't be able to paint nail polish either.. never going back and I hope who ever reads this learns from me and never tries this place... let's not talk about the hair and other options floating in my water bowl... Terrible! In from Chicago to treat my mom for her birthday with my daughter. Three cuts on my nails. Ouch! Pedicures were too rough. Water was too hot. Asked multiple times to cool the water. We asked for 3 manis and 3 pedis. Got our pedis then sat waiting for manicures while they helped other walk ins before us. They forgot about us. Polish was streaky. Asked for flips flops for my daughter and was told to put sock and tennis shoes back on. Asked for clear top coat and was told no. We felt very ignored. Also, it was not clean. Felt very dirty. Candy wrappers and sucker sticks on nail dryer. Dirty manicure towel and dirty bowl. Gross! read more

I went to Diva Nails about a month ago in East Peoria after refusing to go there for several years. But that is another story. The lady who did my nails did a very good job. so I thought I would try again. the lady from before wasn't there so I got a very sweet young lady. That is the only nice thing I can say about this trip. I told her I was trying to get my nails back in condition from gel polish and they were fragile. I had my own clear polish on my nails, which she didn't throughly remove. She did not push my cuticles back she clipped the cuticles but that was a lick and a promise too. She clipped my nails and then proceeded to file with an extremely rough emery. Not good for fragile nails. Then two coats of my polish but no message with lotion. the cost was more than another local nail salon and they message with lotion. Then I went home and filed the extremely rough nails. If I could I would give a zero star I would and I won't return to this location because I have been there a total of 4 times with only one good experience. read more

Well possibly the worst place in east Peoria to get your nails done. Literally let my feet soak for maybe two minutes before he start being super forceful on my pedicure. Then he took two minutes and what I would call a half ass job on shaping up and fixing my cuticles. Then started my again only TWO MINUTE hot stone massage. Just remember I'm paying 45 dollars for something they just spent twenty minutes doing. Not one of the employees would respond back to me when asked why it was rushed. Definitely the worst gel polish I've ever gotten. Polish on my cuticles and skin around the nails that I had to peel off myself. Polish has lasted less than 2 weeks when I can normally go 4-5 weeks. Interestingly, the color is peeling from the shiny basecoat which is not something I've had happen before. The salon is very nice inside, well decorated and clean. Lots of available techs so maybe I just got an inexperienced one? But the polish not adhering to the basecoat isn't something a tech can control, that is an issue with their brand of gel polish, which wasn't Gelish or OPI. read more

I also would give one star if I could. The first time I was there I told the lady I didn't want to damage my nails by filing them so she suggested a gel. She did great. Sooooo two weeks later here I am excited to go in as my nails have some length to them. As soon as I was in the door I felt rushed. I had made an appointment with a friend and they asked me several times where my friend was. When my friend did come and they found out she was getting a plain manicure they instantly began talking (of course I couldn't understand). That happened through out my visit every time I would make a request such as, please don't scrap the gel off my nails, leave the acetone on longer, ouch that hurts. After each comment (and no other time) they would talk with one another. The whole idea of getting gel on my nails was so I would have less damage to my nail bed. The girl doing my nails didnt want to wait for the acetone to do its job and continued to scrap the heck out of my nails even after I prompted her several times to stop. I have done gels many times and the gel will come off smooth and clean without having to dig it off. She then proceeded to remove cuticle skin, waay too much skin. I moved my hand away, said ouch and she still proceeded. The gel is on my cuticles and skin. I can tell they are not going to last more than a day without chipping. Also I was so excited about the growth that happened during the first couple of weeks, yeah she filed that off even after I told her I wanted to keep the length (she said I'm making them square). They were already square!!!! My nails are sore. I am so sad and now it'll take another couple months to grow out the damage she did. My cuticles are going to grow back thick and rough. I was looking forward to a nice relaxing time and instead it ruined my evening. For what I paid her to screw up my nails I can go and get my own gel polishes. I Will not be going back there. It's a shame because my first visit was good. But I'm not going to take the chance. I don't appreciate feeling like I'm being put down when I make a request about something that is on my body and that I'm paying money for. I wouldn't have probably stopped and walked out but like I said I had a friend there that I was visiting with while this was going on. *if you are going to go here anyway for whatever reason. Request Vu. He is knowledgeable, he listens, speaks to you and not in another language to others. He takes the time to listen to what you want and encourages healthy nail care. I have been here several time. The first couple times went smooth, I got good service and my nails looked good. The last few times were terrible though. On time I could see on my pedicure where the polish did not cover. Plus the gentleman argued with me over a couple topics when trying to make conversation. The last time the lady used the hard abrasive on top of my foot and cut me then did the same on the other scratching me! Ouch! I wasn't happy with this and the pedicure was extremely uncomfortable afterwards because there was no communication between us, she couldn't speak English. Now a few weeks later my toenail is falling off, I'm assuming from the bacteria in the water after I was cut. This has never happened to me before and I get frequent pedicures. Atmosphere is lovely. Pedicure menu available. Crew seemed in a rush to put on my sandals and ruined polish on two nails. Friend had an unfriendly, rough experience for her pedicure. I know she is not headed back. I still have rough spots on big toes after paying for a more expensive pedicure. Seemed incomplete and rushed, even though no customers were waiting. Crew seemed more excited to enjoy their coffee break, as their co-worker brought in iced coffees from the nearby Starbucks inside East Peoria Target. Paying at the receptionist desk seemed rushed and unprofessional. While I am sure this place may have been having an off-day, this is not a good, first impression. I won't go back after paying a hefty amount for a service that lacked care and attention to detail. Diva, it is all about the entire experience. Not just the nail color and menu of offerings (or the "free" drinks you offer). I hope you thrive as small businesses need a quality customer base. I have been supporting this nail salon business for over 3 years. I am disabled and only have one hand. The only joy I have left is the excitement of getting the one and only hand i have done so that I can feel good about being a woman. I went for my normal appt today and was told that I could no longer get my nails done become "no one wants to do your nails because you only have one hand". I was flabbergasted, embarrassed and angry. This is the most disabled I have felt since my accident. It was disrespectful and discriminatory. They should not be able to operate business if they can not accommodate painting one hand as opposed to two. I will be reporting this unspeakable act as I can not allow anyone to discriminate against a disabled person including myself. Please do not patronage this salon. Unacceptable! read more
