I am always looking for fun experiences to share with my family so when District Candle Lab opened up at Mosaic Center last week I decided to book a pre-Mother's day appointment for myself, mother, and eight-year old daughter.
Our candle lab confirmation asked us to check-in fifteen minutes prior to our appointment, but the communication wasn't super clear on where to go or where to sit once we got there, that being said we had so much fun browsing the beautiful store smelling the candles, ogling over the gorgeous jewelry, and looking at the other little trinkets before we sat down.
Once they found a space for us, we were assigned a candle tender who walked through the process of making a candle. She was very kind, but I felt like there was a lack of storytelling / detailed instructions which were a missed opportunity for brand connection that would make me want to come back and support after my first visit.
This was my fourth visit to a business like this and really wanted my mother to be able to experience the knowledge of the business, how to build different scents, and learn about the ingredients in the candles but we did not receive much information, event with prompting.
The total cost of a small candle is $48 which is pricey, but is expected at a shop like this. I was a little disappointed to see that all of our candles had weird bubbles and indentations when we picked them up.
Our experience at Fawne Charm Bar was amazing. I was not expecting to pick up anything here but their charm selection was so cute and the salesperson so friendly that we all ended up making another purchase. Our sales person was super knowledgable, helpful, and super fun to work with -- she even made sure to take extra time to make sure that we were happy with our final purchase when we went to pick up our bracelets the next day. My daughter can't wait to come back and add more trinkets to her bracelet. read more
