Well, what should I say. We found this so called B&B in the AA B&B Guide and thought the pictures look and the description read nice. So we booked a night in advance. Once we arrived, we parked our car on the private parking lot, which is pretty cool. Then we went inside and were welcomed, but just not in the Scottish awesome way that we were used to from other places. This place isn't a B&B, it's, as it says in the name, a guest house. That means it's more commercial.
Our room was okay. Not very big, but big enough. Nod very modern, but we didn't care. It was clean and we had a bed to sleep in: perfect:
It also said in the description: Complimentary sample of whiskey or sherry for every guest! So we tried it. The whisky wasn't a single malt as one might would expect in Scotland, but it was a mixed whisky, probably even Jack Daniels or something like that. In a so called Distillery Guest House, this was quite the disappointment.
Breakfast was included, self service with eggs, sausages, and all the other Scottish breakfast delights. It was standard, and most importantly cooked and then kept warm for some time, so it wasn't the best breakfast we've had on our journey. But: it was okay.
Thus: Three stars from me for an okay but not very special experience. My tip: go to Ben Nevis Inn for dinner! read more
