Town Square Park - $5 tasting menu

We came here for the very FIRST event called FLAVOR FEST which also featured $5 global tasting menu…read morefrom certain vendors. There was a FREE CONCERT thought the day featuring Thai Dancing, Lion Dance, Polynesian Dance, Rock and Roll Band and more!... I got there at about 4pm and some of vendors like the Lumpia or GOI Thai Express was not ready yet. I was looking forward to trying some of the $5 tasting menu but, I realized that the portions were small so I bought some of the regular orders as well... $5 TASTING MENU: 8/10 My favorite tasting menu was from the Mediterranean vendor called Flavor Fire which had 2 CHICKEN SKEWER, hummus with rice pilaf and an orchid flower. I also got the $5 Lumpia which has about 5 mini lumpias... GOI THAI EXPRESS: 7/10 Waited in line for 30 plus minutes and got the Brisket with truffled fried rice and curry puffs. The CURRY PUFFS were tiny and not tasty. However, the BRISKET with TRUFFLED FRIED RICE was FIRE!!!! That was worth the wait... I would recommend coming at 4:30pm as some of the popular vendors like GOI THAI EXPRESS and the LUMPIA vendors were not ready yet. The festival was set to start from 3:00pm-8pm... PARKING: PLENTY of parking Both on the dirt and the concrete!! AMBIANCE: 10/10 This was a great experience and I hope they will have it every year! It is by far the most impressive FOOD FAIR because it's not as crowded as the LA or OC fair and it's the most organized and CLEANEST FOOD FESTIVAL I've ever seen! Bravo!! Unlike the 626 night market, this event also has FREE ADMISSION!!! It's a WINNER WINNER TOWN SQUARE PARK CHICKEN DINNER!!!!!!

Town Square Park (also known as Hunt Field) in Murrieta is really two parks in one -- and both…read moreserve different purposes depending on what you're looking for. On the south side near the corner of Plum and Juniper, there's a smaller grassy park area with lots of beautiful shade trees and about 5-6 picnic tables. It's quiet, peaceful, and perfect for lunch, relaxing, or small gatherings. There's no playground equipment here -- just open grass and shade -- which makes it great for older kids or adults wanting a calm space. One thing to note: it's not enclosed or gated, so if you have little ones who like to wander, you'll want to keep a close eye on them. The other half of the park is Hunt Field, home to three baseball fields regularly used by Murrieta National Little League. There's one Juniors-sized field and two smaller T-Ball/little kid fields. The fields are very well maintained -- you can tell there's an ongoing battle with gophers, but the city and league do a solid job staying on top of it and filling holes quickly. There are two porta-potties near the main field closest to Juniper (though currently no ADA-accessible unit -- something I've asked the city to consider adding). On game nights or Saturdays when there are official games (not just practices), the snack bar is sometimes open, which is a nice bonus. Shade is limited around the baseball fields, and while there are small bleacher sections at each field, bringing your own chair is a smart move for comfort. Parking is pretty convenient -- street parking is available, there's a smaller lot off Juniper with a few handicap spaces, and a much larger lot in the back accessible from Plum Street or Adams Avenue. Bonus tip: If the Community Center is open, you can use the indoor restrooms instead of the porta-potties. Overall, it's a great community park and a central hub for local youth baseball. Whether you're there for a quiet lunch under the trees or cheering on a Little League game, it's a solid Murrieta staple.

Needed to write a review for the splash pad component. The team working the splash pad during 2021…read moreCovid precautions did a great job. We drove the hour to come up from San Diego to Temecula to visit this park and spend the day with littles. Arrived at noon on a weekday, and the team was very informative about their lunch time closure and process. Check the city website. They do have great information and details there as well. I love that things were fenced off -- both around the playground and again around the splash pad -- to moderate the number of folks entering and exiting. The team working there is very kind.. keeps a good eye on the littles (parents do need to enter with the kids).. and do moderate the number of folks to avoid over crowding. This splash pad is associated with the Margarita Community park (https://www.yelp.com/biz/margarita-community-park-temecula) but the splash pad itself is listed separately with the city. I wanted to recognize the great job the team working the splash pad did. It's not huge.. but it's just right for kids up to early elementary. Mostly for the littles in attendance are of the age where they are just discovering their walking skills and can enjoy the splash of water on a hot day. The other kids weren't too crazy or rambunctious.. so I felt safe. Parents that day (weekday during school hours).. did pay close attention to their own children to keep everyone in check. There is one outdoor shower post to rinse off (the water is highly chlorinated -- or has a smell like outdoor pool water). Not much shade so definitely bring the sunscreen and hats. Recommend water shoes... even though the ground was clean and paved, the ground does get a bit toasty and it's just safer imo. They run in 55 minute increments to then shut the water off. and give the space a break and refresh the crowds. Once school lets out.. it does get more crowded in both the park and the splash pad. I believe the splash pad (as well as the surrounding park) are ADA accessible which is fantastic. I'm happy to see that all friends, of all abiliites, are able to enjoy fun time in the sun! Lots of fun.. and wish we lived closer!
