I don't mind but my son is allergic to dogs and it could start up his allergies which I then would mind. Also we set up a blanket on the grass and this grass has the tiny spikey balls in the grass so that was an inconvenience trying to clean that off. But overall, the park is clean, the other kids and parents are friendly and there isn't anyone here who isn't supposed to be which is nice.

One side for small dogs below 25lb and the other side for large dogs 25lb and above or 18 inches tall I believe. Around the dog park is also a play ground to the corner, there are also some public restrooms, and a large patch of grass area. There are plenty of poop bags around the park and lots of parking spaces both in the lot and on the street. After the dog park, I took my pup for a run around the neighborhood and there was a trail nearby but it got dark so I didn't explore it too much. Nicely paved roads all around the area if you want to take a stroll. The area is overall quiet and clean. The dog park gets pretty empty once the sun sets because there's not much light at the park and it gets a bit chilly so try to come before then. I came here at least 3 times and of all those times, this place is packed with lovely fur babies! Overall, great dog park.

Initially, I was hesitant about taking our pugs to a dog park, but I mellowed out after the first visit. We had zero issues on this visit, and it seemed people were good about controlling their dogs and picking up after them. Our pups had a blast running around and playing with the other dogs. On a second visit, a male arrived with a dog and walking it on-leash. At first, I wondered why the dog was on a leash because the rules indicate the dogs need to be off-leash. Several minutes later, the male removed the leash, and the dog began to charge other dogs including ours. Since the male had the dog on a leash, the male clearly knew his dog was aggressive. After making immediate suggestions to the male to secure his dog, there were no further problems. However, it was somewhat traumatic for one of our pugs that was attacked. Just a reminder that some dogs, regardless of size with irresponsible owners, can be aggressive.

Some small dogs are just not "okay" with big dogs so adding that path in the middle is awesome. Came by on a Friday afternoon and it was slow in the small dog park side but the big dog side was poppin'. I only wish they added more trash cans for poop bags. They have one but it's right by the entrance so if you're wayyy on the other side you have to walk back. Which is fine but I feel like having more trash areas will encourage more people to pick up their dogs poop. Though they should regardless but ya know how it goes. Also, there is only 1 water fountain and it's outside of the dog park. So, if your dog is thirsty you're going to have to leash them up to go outside and then come back inside. Other than that, a nice park for the doggos.

You can now walk from Eastvale Community Park at Hamner through River Walk Park and down to Archibald, a total round trip of 5.2 miles. Unfortunately, there has been so many kids out there racing E-bikes during the past year it is getting increasingly difficult to safely take a walk with my dog along this trail. Recently JCSD has put up 20 miles per hour speed limit signs that say yield to pedestrians and some mirrors to help see around sharp turns. 20 mile per hour speed limit might be an okay speed limit on the straight parts of the trail, but 20 miles per hour isn't at all safe around the sharp turns. I have had to jump in the bushes and pull my dog off the trail several times from E-bikes racing around a curve in the trail.

It's such a large park with so many pokestops and gyms. There's plenty of walking space and places to sit and take a breather. It's a perfect little park for weekends and day trips with friends and family.

Butterfield Park includes baseball fields, softball fields, and open grass areas for soccer. On the far corner of the park is the dog park. It is a pretty decent size for the doggos. There is a smaller area that is sectioned off for the smaller pups. Honestly when I brought my little Pomeranian here, she loved it. Lots of things to sniff and places to dig holes lol She had fun rolling around in the grass. I don't remember having an issues with dog poop on the ground or anything like that. And no complaints from my dog lol She seemed happy and had fun. I like that they have the separate area for the smaller dogs. That is needed. Overall this is a great park for the fur-baby's to have fun safely. This park gave me a bit of what I have been missing. Peaceful surroundings, trees, a dirt path, space, and minimal distractions. The pup and I got to play and train and we both left feeling super satisfied. I did notice a small blue tent in the park. Not sure if it was occupied. I wasn't too concerned because I had my dog. A discarded syringe cap was also found near a bench. Otherwise, the park was well-manicured, clean, and serene. I look forward to returning!
