When I…read morehad first visited "Tron" it was all wood with a massive halfpipe but i was too young and inexperienced to skate it. Since then I've seen the construction of the cement double box which is arguably one of the best ledges in Portland and the now (old) new park which was the 2008 addition and just as of recently the (new) old park which was the complete removal of wooden ramps to all cement and it's been my home away from home for over a decade. I highly recommend this park to anyone! Nobody fights, nobody steals, and it's a great over all place. Couldn't ask for a better spot for skateboarding.

There's also a climbing wall, zip line kinda thing, and a really big sand lot with a volcano-kinda thing in the middle that is deceptively difficult to walk up because the sand makes it slippery! PLUS there's a splash pad water fountain wet area! That part is not open year round. I mean it's open, but the fountains aren't running in the winter. All this is surrounded by covered picnic tables, very large grassy areas, walking paths covered by trees. Car parking. Bicycle parking. Clean bathrooms. Friendly clientele. We entered from the east side of the park where there is pedestrian access. On the west side of the park near the vehicle entrance, there is a skate park! And 4 half basketball courts, plus a boulder, I guess for bouldering.

They have a nice trail you can take through beautiful large trees. The second half of the trail is more in brush and dessert type of feel, but still beautiful nonetheless. They also have little workout stops you can do along the way which we enjoyed playing around with haha. The also have disc golf, too, which we even saw a couple people playing so that was pretty cool to see. The only thing I will say is the trail does take you one weird way and it's near a homeless encampment so just beware that. But you can always walk a different way. Also at one point you are next to a road which kind of loses the sense of being in the park and in nature away from streets, but honestly, it's not for too long. Absolutely beautiful trail! And super easy. They allow dogs, too, which I love! Highly recommend checking it out.

The cobwebs in the bathrooms are totally in tune with the spirit of Halloween But it's a public park bathroom, the toilets were clean. That's what matters. The playground had lots of families. It's one of the bigger parks we've been to in the metro area - though we haven't been to by many. (No one was playing music. The other skaters were quite polite when we were here.) There are park benches outside the fence - backs to Parker Rd. And a few picnic tables on the grass. Our only wish were for some restrooms. FYI- the parking is a bit beyond (or before, depending on where you are coming from) and across the street. Follow the path and take the high road when it splits.
