Dr. Shepard is very talented in his field. He knows the whole body system and how it works together. He strives to identify what is ailing you, as an individual. He practices open patient/doctor communication, and partnership in working WITH you to identify a good course of action. Me: Chronic pain in upper back, chest, neck, arms, head, led me into a depressed state and overall inability to move comfortably. Before Dr. Shepard, I saw another chiro for a year, with no improvement. Dr. Shepard's office took x-rays at my first visit so he could see what was going on inside (previous chiro did not do this). Long story shortened, I had a 'complicated' case that was not alleviated by simply going in for adjustments. In fact, I was rarely adjusted on my visits. Dr. Shepard and I worked together to identify what was causing my issue. It took about 9 months, and trying various techniques to find out how my body responded, but I had spiraled into my painful state over the course of 2 years, so was willing to put in the time to climb back out. If it were not for Dr. Shepard's tenacity in helping me, us talking a lot together about all aspects of my lifestyle that could be affecting my issue, his knowledge and experience in the body systems, and me 'doing the homework', I would still be in pain. I have been pain free now for several months, and back to exercising and living an active life. The most important thing is that with Dr. Shepard's help, I know what my triggers are, and when I feel that little bit of pain itching to return, I KNOW how to keep it away. read more

Dr. Shepard is the real deal! I was completely skeptical about seeing a chiropractor. But others claimed it was the way to go. Dr. Shepard was my mom and sister's chiropractor, so that's how I was referred. When I went in for my first visit, Dr. Shepard proved me wrong! He not only is knowledgeable, but he is professional and also very down to earth. He listens to your concerns and complaints and never over talks you or undermines your thoughts or opinions. His work is phenomenal, his staff is top of the line and always willing to help. If you need something at the last minute, call up Christina and they will fit you in. Dr. Shepard and his staff make you feel like you're the most important person, which is great. I highly recommend them. They are truly a rarity, I would not go any where else! read more

When I discovered Discover Chiropractic & Wellness, I was at a point where I spent the last 1 1/2 years with injuries and symptoms from being physically assaulted that no doctor, on or off base in Texas would care to take the time to identify, manage, treat, or deal with. No doctor on or off base cared. Until Dr. Shephard. I would give him 10 stars if I could. His staff is energetic, open-minded, friendly, compassionate, high levels of professionalism, and as Doc Shep has said, it's like getting free therapy alongside Chiropractic treatment. Dr. Shephard cares about his patients are human beings, he cares about what ails you, what you are struggling with. He takes the time to evaluate your pain, your injuries, any surgeries you've had, medications and diagnosis, and above all, he tailors your treatment so that he can help you the most, help you achieve positive growth, and help you be pain-free, and also help you gain mobility and flexibility back. He is intelligent, gifted, and he even helped me with exercises and stretches I can do at home alongside the HIVAMAT treatment he started me with. During each appointment, he would come in and check on me, catch up with how I'm feeling and doing, what my progress is, he has a great sense of humor, very approachable, and his wife is very professional and sweet, and overall he has an amazing clinic with amazing staff. He is far more knowledgeable and experienced than any Chiropractor I have ever met. And I have rods in my back from a scoliosis fusion, dislocated shoulder blade, GAD, PTSD. If you need a Chiro, Doc Shep is your doctor! I wish I could've brought him and his whole clinic and staff to the state I relocated to. read more

I am a professor of pharmacy and involved in healthcare for over 30 years. I have been seeing Dr. Shepard for over a year. I was initially very skeptical of chiropractic science. However I have observed that he applies the science and art of chiropractic and wellness in an effective way that produces palpable results. While he has the latest equipment and techniques, the thing I most admire about Dr. S is his devotion to the patient, not as a number but a human in need of help. He is focused on achieving optimal outcomes of his patients. As a health care provider and researcher, I have interacted with hundreds of physicians in my career. I have never met a more dedicated and compassionate person as Dr. Shepard. Finally, his staff also displays this caring and compassion attitude. I can not recommend a clinic more strongly than his clinic . I am very critical of the current health care environment. Thank God clinics like this exist so patients can received personalized care that we all deserve. read more
