We recently moved from Beaufort, South Carolina and after the move to Yuma, a few days in the fires began deflating slowly so I figured we had a slow leak. Problem was we couldn't find the problem area. I wasn't sure if discount could work on an enclosed trailer tire and he said he could and to just bring it right over. We had some things to do at Best Buy and dropped the trailer off. The service was fairly quick and took about an hour or so. We picked it up at no charge. Employee charged at me when I waited in the wrong area for air check. The sign only said to scan to check in. I waited at that sign for a while and started to think "the sign does not say 'wait here' or 'stop' so therefore I pulled behind the car getting the air checked. The employee made the automatic assumption that I was simply behind the other car because of some other reason than the sign not specifically saying "wait here". He told me very violently if I could wait behind the sign and because of the way he said it I told him the sign does NOT say "wait here" or "stop". He said "I can't have you blocking the bays" and I continued to say "the sign should say 'wait here' or 'stop' and he was just like "yeah okay". I was implying that I did not come behind the other car because im a rude bitch that can not wait. But he was treating me like that so I was explaining that there was no way in hell that I knew to wait there. All the sign says is "scan to check in" it does NOT SAY "WAIT HERE". IT does not say it I was there for a while assuming I wait there but when the while went for a long time I decided that maybe I am doing the wrong thing. The sign does not say "wait here" or "stop" customers do NOT specifically know to actually wait there, its only a GUESS to us. And when I told him this, his attitude and the way he spoke to me did NOT change. if your going to CHARGE AT customers that dont wait behind the ambiguous sign by making the correct guess then maybe you should have the sign say "wait here" or "stop" instead of expecting customers to read minds and then getting mad when they dont read minds correctly. He did not at all understand from anyone else's perspective than his own. And even if the sign said "wait here" or "stop" he STILL should not have CHARGED AT MY CAR and spoke to me in an aggressive manner that sounded like he was going to start a fight with me for making a mistake. Whomever was working there yesterday for the air check needs to not treat customers in such a way that is so rude the customer thinks the employee is trying to start a fight. If your employees are going to possibly take it so personally when customers do not wait in the correct area for an air check then this location definitely needs to add to the sign "wait here" or "stop" not just "check in" . Either fire the employee or put the correct words on the sign so that this guy doesn't try to start fights. He literally, his tone and body language was very aggressive and no one should be experiencing that just because of making a misunderstooding, yet its not my fault the sign is completely and totally missing what the aircheck employee is assuming the customer will just magically know. No one told me to wait there or stop, the sign did not specify it at all. Did I really make a mistake or is this location in need of proper communication skills training? Because after I drive to the wrong area, he tells me to go to the sign, I say "it did not say wait there" then he says "you can't block my bays" which is totally understandable and agreeable but I also informed him that "the sign should say "wait here" and he still did not make the connection. The connection he should have made is that after he said "I can't cars blocking the bay" thats even more validity to having the sign say "wait here" - you know so that customers are actually told in the first place to wait there instead of getting charged and yelled at when they dont. His body language was very AGRESSIVE when he CHARGED at my car like he was going to start a fight which clearly signifys he's operating from his amygdala not his pre-frontal cortex which could have been activated by the heat, so either theres something wrong with this employee or the management should not be having them do air checks like the other discount tire about 15 min from this one due to excussive heat. They should be in the shade and given proper hydration maybe to avoid this. Needless to say I left this location because of his attitude. read more

The wait time was 2.5 hours which stinks but I will say in all fairness, they were busy the entire time so at kleast no one was sitting around. Keep in mind the temperature is 110 degrees and the pavement is scorching why would he think that telling me to get on their properties asphalt and sustain burns my body was a good idea? Anyways he took one look at the tire and said something is probably happened to it from driving. He asked to inspect the other tires and I waited in the lobby. When he returned he decided it was a better idea to up sale new tires when the ones I have are currently under warranty. He gave me his recommendations to buy a new tire (that wasn't even the flat one) and gave me a spill about performance. When I asked why are we talking about buying a different tired when I need the flat one looked at first, he said well it's my recommendation I then asked if he checked to see if the one he wanted me to buy was under warranty he states I haven't checked. Why oh why would I even consider buying brand new replacement tire On your word when you haven't even checked if the issue that particular tire is either is covered by their warranty to avoid me paying for it needlessly. He told me outside it be an hour wait outside the lobby. However when I explained to him I came to have the flat tired fixed let's worry about that one first and then you can have a technician inspect the tire you want me to buy to see if I even need to buy one; and you can Check if it's under warranty first. He did not appear amused and then he told me it would now be a 2 hour wait. Wow just like that how did he go from a 1 hour wait to 2 hour wait without ever speaking to anyone in the garage just like that. It did enter my head the wait would have been shortened had I went with his recommendation of just buying the tires. While waiting in the lobby the other associates were observed asking for information and checking warranties for customers. Surprise surprise the associates who helped me was seen constantly recommending buy brand new tires without asking people for their information to see if the current tires they had were even covered. Not saying the store is shady I've wonderful experiences but today seemed rather shady. When it came time for my vehicle to be inspected It only took 25 minutes ; so it begs to be asked where did this guys get his "wait times" from 1 hour to 2 hours because I didn't buy a tire. My guess is someone looked at the vehicle information at some Point and pulled the vehicle inside when it was observed all 4 tires were under warranty. Perception of business practices are sometimes worse than the reality Of actual practices. Once my warranties are done I'm definitely heading to another seller. read more

I just replaced 4 tires with low miles, existing tires had a defect of Ozone damage plenty of tread remaining but since my certificate does not cover Ozone damage because of the heat for the supposedly life use of tire certificate will not cover replacement, so the salesman said this new tires will not have this issue because they are rated for higher ambient heat, so why did Discount Tire sell me four tires not rated and not safe to drive in the heat of Yuma AZ. The staff here at this location are amazing, from the Manager, Matt Suchma, to all of his great support team (if I had all their names I would share); each one of them are there to get you taken care of, and it feels like they take a lot of pride in their customer service. I really appreciate the effort at which they take to get me back on the road without really too much needed from me. Plus when they say they're going to be done, that's when they are. The text notification updates are great, I was able to leave my vehicle and go grab some breakfast, once I got that text I knew exactly when my vehicle was ready for pickup. My last visit to get a set of new tires took maybe an hour from start to finish, and they even took the time to mount an existing tire onto my spare rim which was a really nice "extra". On a trip to Tucson, one tire developed a problem. My granddaughter found that Discount tire was 2 1/2 miles from where we had stopped to put air in a very flat tire. It was Friday about 5:47, and they clOse at 6:00. Alex told us they would taKe care of us when we arrived. They eventually drove my car into the bay and removed the tiree. At this point I figured the tire would need to be replaced. No one came to talked with me. A few minutes later, the tire was on the car, backed out and I was being handed my keys. For many years, I have trusted Discount Tire (DT) to be the expert since I studied Psychology. Sadly, the store on Yuma Palms Parkway exploited my lack of car knowledge this Saturday. While working the tire pressure pump, Luis said two of my tires were in the yellow tread zone, encouraging me to replace them immediately. Before committing to new tires, I explained I wanted to do my own research. Within minutes, another DT employee came to my parked car, kindly saying they had my information & tire history pulled up on their computer inside. This is the foot-in-the-door technique if you were wondering. I decided to trust them and buy new tires, but my dog was with me and needed to go home. So I told them I would return on Monday for the new tires. That night, my cousin (a mechanical engineer for the army) checked my tires and laughed. He said the tracks were clearly visible, and I did NOT need new tires for another year. Discount told me to replace my tires with at least 4/32" of tread, suggesting it would be dangerous not to. But they need to be replaced at 2/32". The extra 2/32" is 10,000 to 15,000 miles. ***My advice to those unfamiliar with tire replacement criteria*** DIY: look up tire replacement criteria & how to check your tires Knowledge is power. read more

I am deeply disappointed in this location! Been using Discount tire for many years, but now going elsewhere.... A month ago I purchased new tires for my truck. They were special order, so I went in and had the order placed on my account. Two weeks passed without a call, so I called them for a status. Yep, the tires were never ordered. So I waited another week and they finally arrived. I made an 8am appointment, so I could drop my truck off and Uber to work (without being late). I pulled up and waited in their outside check-in spot (There was one car in front of me). As one of the associates was leaving the desk to come out and greet the person in front of me, someone had just parked in the lot and met the associate at the door. Instead of asking the person to wait their turn, they both walked to the counter and we had just been cut in line. The person in front of me and I got out of our vehicles and went in to ask what the deal was.... we were apologized to and asked to return to our vehicles. I was mad, but let it go. We all make mistakes. It took 1.5 hours to be checked in snd I could leave, now I was mad. I just let it go... voiced my opinion, but just let it go. I needed tires. 2 weeks ago I ordered a matching spare... 1 week later and guess what, it wasn't ordered again! Waited another day, and they rush shipped one in. Got there for my appointment and waited in the Check-in area. Like before, as an associate was coming out the door, someone parked in the parking lot and cut in line. The associate didn't even hesitate to let them do it. If you're going to make this STUPID outside check-in thing, make EVERYONE fallow the damn rule!!! I was driving from Phoenix to San Diego when I got a flat 77 miles to the closest discount tire location. I made it on my spare, just in time (about 3 hours before they closed. I was told that it can be a couple hours since the appointments were booked for the rest of the day, but Steven was still able to fit me in since I was traveling. They ended up fixing this right away and getting me out within the same hour! I have the warranty on all my tires, so they swapped it out for free! Horrible service. They had to order a tire and never contacted me when the tire showed up. When I had the tire replaced on my truck, they scratched the rim while replacing the tire. They tried to justify their mistake by telling me that no matter what, scratches will be made because of the type of rims I have. If there were professionals that worked here, they wouldn't have scratched and scuffed my rim. He also mentioned this happens with Ford trucks as well, not just Chevrolet. read more

I was expecting at least a one hour wait but they had plugged and patched the tire and tire balance in just 15 minutes. I was willing to pay but Ian said no charge, absolutely free. We purchased tires from Discount Tire in California, but we had a problem with losing air while we were in Yuma. We went to this Discount Tire and they removed the offending tire, and discovered that it wasn't the tire. It was the wheel. There was a crack in the wheel and it was causing the tire to lose air. They put on the spare wheel, but they referred us to a guy at Harley Davidson to have the broken wheel welded. After it was welded, we took the tire back to Discount Tire and they put the tire back on the newly welded wheel. They were very nice, prompt, and best of all, they didn't charge us for any of these tire changes!! This motivates us to always use Discount Tire in the future. read more

I would not recommend doing business with this Discount Tire location. I preordered and prepaid for Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 3 summer tires. I had to since they are not something off the shelf you can get in Yuma. I got my email alert my tires were in on Monday 20 April 2020 and called to confirm an appointment for Wednesday morning 22 April 2020. Later, I reaffirmed my appointment with Matt, the manager, when he called to ensure it was still set for Wednesday am. I showed up for my appointment on time and pull in my car for my prepaid service. Then the scramble begins as I come to find out that the night before somehow sold / installed my prepaid tires on another car. I had this all set and scheduled since I needed to travel to Phoenix today and I did not want to on the tread wear I had left. Matt did offer to have me come in later date when a new set came in. No thanks, I preordered and paid for them for a reason. He offered to put another brand of tire on my car. No thanks again, its a performance car with performance tires for a reason and that affects the drivability. I asked for my refund back today so I could go to another tire company once I reached Phoenix and purchase them I refused the refund to my card that may have taken days and got the cash to immediately put in my bank account. Matt did offer to give me free 2 tires in the future but I declined them. I do not need nor did I want free future tires I wanted the tired I paid for on my car that was all prepaid and preset for now. If you like future freebies than maybe you want to do business here.
