I have used Discount Tire over many years and multiple vehicles now, and I continue to trust them for my tire needs. Their prices are comparable to many retailers, but their warranty on tires has great value and I like that it translates to any Discount Tire location (which is particularly helpful for someone like me, who spends quite a bit of time on the road). At this location, I am constantly impressed with the level of customer service I experience. Even at their busiest times, employees prioritize greeting every customer who comes in the door. They successfully balance multiple customers at a time and can often be seen lightly jogging back to the showroom to update customers. The eye contact, handshakes, and efficiency really go a long way to show they value our entire experience, no matter if we're there for a simple rotation or buying a whole new set of tires. Something specific that I really appreciate is that I've never felt "talked down to" as someone who doesn't have a great expertise in tires/automobiles in general. They are fast, friendly, knowledgable, and have their customers' interests at heart. They won't push you to buy the most expensive tires, but what you are comfortable with, and they will happily explain all of your options. My GF lives in Richardson Texas and drives to New Braunfels every weekend. Last week her Lexus IS250 front tire started coming apart. She called me and I gave her the address to punch in her GPS (Discount tire in Temple). It was a Thursday afternoon and she went in and they replaced the tire. I told her to have them look at the other front as well. She came to NB and was leaving Monday morning and I thought I would just look at the other front since they only charged her for one. Same thing, coming apart. I called the GM and he called the Discount tire in NB and had them install ONE AT NO CHARGE. I in turn... replaced both the rears also. I loved my experience with this place! My husband usually sends me to a shady little tire place in Temple that's not lady friendly. This year I refused to go there. Discount Tire was amazing!... very sweet staff, knowledgeable and SUPER fast. I got to sit in an air conditioned environment and was provided with a recent magazine to enjoy while I waited. I had went to Walmart to get my oil changed and they "checked" my tires for me. The next day my tire pressure light was on so I brought it in to this location. They had told me that all of my tires were low and assured me they would be fine now. But within a few days the light came back on so I went back to the store and asked them to look again. I had picked up a nail in one of my tires. They were so nice and helpful and didn't even charge me for the plug and it only took about 15 minutes. The second time I went in for another 4 tires and got talked into buying a new set of rims as well. The employee I talked to explicitly told me I would end up paying less a little over $600 for everything but I found out after the fact that I would be paying over $800. Wish I could give more stars to this place! It was awesome! I came here with the original intent of buying a tire pressure measuring gauge. I forgot to get his name, but he was so sweet. He first gave me the gauge, then proceeded to check my pressure and pump my tires with air. The whole process took less than a minute. When I asked how much I owed him, he smiled and said it was free, and anytime I need to come get my pressures checked, they would do that for free! What an awesome service! Great experience here - got a full quote online (every other tire place in the Temple area makes you submit a quote request so that some salesman can call you, err annoy you with a sales pitch). Their quote for four tires was well below any competitor in the area. When I went in at my appointment time, they were missing one of the tires I'd reserved (they had 3 of the 4 in stock), so they have me a higher-grade tire at the same quoted price - about a $100 difference overall. I had to wait two hours to change two tires, AND they do not even offer alignments here. For the price I have paid ($340) and the time I waited, I would think that an alignment would be free of charge. The minute I drove on the highway I could tell how badly I needed it. They were lazy and put the new tires on the back of a front wheel drive standard transmission turbo car, so now I peel out and weave on the highway. The manager was not that professional either. Seriously tho, what kind of place calls itself the tire place, and doesn't offer alignments? Anyone who knows about cars would not go here. read more

whoa there dobbin ! someone changed their business style and i just found out. i had a great review for discount tire last year. not so this year. 4 months ago i asked discount to switch my discount purchased tires from my old pu truck to my new pu truck. after leaving both vehicles at their shop for most of the day i came back to find the tires still in place just as i left them. even though both trucks had current safety sticker and good tires; discount said that they could not be reponsible for switching tires between the vehicles (same size tires and rims) because one truck was 4wd and the other 2wd. didn't give it much though at the time. just inconvenienced and wasted time. so i took the trucks to a small local shop and paid them for the swap($60.00 bucks out of my wallet) instead of free at discount. a month later i took my wifes mazda in and asked for a free rotation and rebalance(tires purchased at discount). current month safety sticker in effect(car was freshly inspected in temple, texas at lube place). out came the little depth gage while i go into the store for a seat. result sorry, one of your tires is too close to the limit for rotation ! no matter that the car was freshly safety inspected, we still won't honor our store obligation( as advertised) to rotate and rebalance every 4000 miles.. a month later, having just been laid off from the only job i had during retirement( thank GOD for social security) i proceeded to ask discount to honor their 4000 mile rotation and rebalance claim. my tires( this time for my 2005 honda element) had been inspected, safety inspected and stickered a few month prev ious. i wished to get one more rotation (about 4000 miles) out of my discount tire purchased tires before having to purchase a new pair.discount tire had a very different idea; we won't rotate and rebalance your tires, sorry, they may be legal for highway use for a while longer but we don't want to take the responsibility to rotate them here. O.K. FINE have it your way. discount had their chance to do the right thing and dropped the ball(s), all three of them, three separate times with the same customer...... the implication is: BUY NEW TIRES !!! the reality is: i can't afford new tires when the ones i purchased from discount are still legal and safe to use in this state, they just need rotation to get the most wear out of the tire.. guess what? you just lost a customer that has been coming into discount tires for over ten years. we used discount when we lived in pasadena, texas for a long time before discount even had a store in temple, texas. discount tires changed their way of doing business, from greed i will change the people i do business with.. so long discount, my business goes elsewhere now read more

Five months ago we got two tires. Well this new tire blew up on a trip to Austin. Took it to DT and they tell us this tire(the spare) is bad. Uh 5 months ago DT put that same tire in the trunk to be a spare. Now this is what ticks me off my daughter who's car had the tires installed on this guy tries the oh she is a woman and we can get here to spend money on things she didn't need. I can not say enough good things about this establishment. It started last year when I bought tires for the '03 Suburban. I chose the cheaper tires and they proved failures. After they had to replace one, the still let me buy the "per tire" warranty. Which I ended up using two more times. My wife had a puncture to a tire SHE DIDN'T EVEN BUY there and they fixed it for FREE in about 30 minutes! She had purchased two of her four current tires there only. Then, just yesterday, I went in to see what they could do to help with my "p" (passenger) rated tires on the suburban. I had gotten ANOTHER flat on a simple gravel road. They gave me credit for the used tires, and outfitted the family-mobile with some Cooper AT/LT's and are even a bit larger. They saved me about 50% as well. My husband & I have always bought all of our tires at our local Discount Tire (Austin/Round Rock). I just purchased four new Michelin Defenders with the Warranty Certificates ( Got Certs.?) & we also get lifetime rotate & balance. It's a routine. Every other oil change go to DT & rotate tires. So, let's get on with why I will never forget this location in Temple. I was on my way from Austin to Temple to McLanes Children's Hospital & hit a sharp object on I-35 driving the posted speed limit. 75mph. Bam. Thought "Dang, what was that? Oh well, I've got new tires."......then flap flap flap. Turned hazards on, drove on rim to get to my grandson. Left vehicle in parking lot w 3 huge slits in tire & flat as a pancake. Called AAA. Temple Towing towed the vehicle straight to Discount Tire by Temple Mall. I was on time for my grandson's appointment, & had a brand new Defender on my van before lunch. This team in Temple could tell I was upset, flustered, & just generally upset. They treated me like family. I love the service you always get from all Discount Tires.
