My appointment was 12:30 PM May 9, 2026. I checked in at exactly 12:30 PM. My car finally made inside the garage at 1:18 PM. 48 minutes after my appointment time. The car was done at 1:28 PM. 10 min? Yep, the quality isn't there either. After these tires were installed, the car shook all the way home because the tires weren't balanced correctly. But they sure are fast! "I'm" on time, yet I'm required to wait 30+ minutes before the car goes into the garage for the work to be done. What is the point of scheduling an appointment with a company if the company doesn't honor that appointment? It's ridiculous. It's obvious that too many vehicles are scheduled to maximize company time at the cost of your customers time & satisfaction. I'll go elsewhere for my tires in the future. read more

Yesterday my wife's car had a tire puncture. I arrived at 5:40pm and Discount Tire closes at 6. I told Trace who met me in the parking lot that my wife needs the car tomorrow to take her father to the doctor. He immediately said they could get me in. I have been a Discount Tire customer for 30 years. Until last Saturday. Never again, adios amigos! How, exactly, do you lose a loyal customer of 30 years? Here's how: The first time I visited a Discount Tire in San Antonio, Texas, was in the mid-1990s. It was a great experience! Back then, the business model for Discount Tire was selling you a name brand set of tires for less than the big name tire stores, like Firestone and Goodyear. Not anymore! Now, a trip to Discount Tire is like trying to navigate a timeshare presentation. At every single turn, the kids there tried to upsell me unnecessarily. I asked how much it would cost to swap out the set of tires on my vehicle with the snow tires I brought with me in the back seat. "$100, sir. But, you can buy a set of rims, and it'll be free." So, right away, this cat is trying to stick it to me to the tune of 100s of dollars, instead of charging a reasonable price (I purchased BOTH sets at Discount Tires already). Then, Part II of this grift: Kid takes me over to the yardstick showing the "unsafe" braking distances, and hopes I infer my snow tires will "soon" become unsuited for road conditions. For Chrissakes, I can sink my pinkie into the treads! Finally feeling like I'm home safe, and made it past all the scams, kid shows me this graphic about "swollen" lug nuts, and explains how they can't let me out of there without a new set of lug nuts, that CAN be torqued to spec. I tell the kid to just grease the threads and put the old lug nuts back on with a pneumatic drill. "We can't do that, sir." But! They just HAPPEN to have a new set of lug nuts for . . . . $100.00! This is when I begin cursing. "You don't have to curse, sir." Well, actually, I DO! Discount Tire USED to be about service. Now, all they care about is sales. Their new business model is being a chupacabra, and you'll be bled dry by these grifting parasites. AVOID THESE CLOWNS AT ALL COST! read more

Had a slow leak in our car that took two weeks to go from 36 to 29 psi. Made an appointment for the next morning, brought it in and 30 minutes later it was done. They found a bad valve stem which they replaced. When I asked how much this was going to set me back, the answer was it's covered under the inspection. I paid nothing! I asked about the cost of replacement tire and wheels, and the the estimate and their polite effective service, I will be bringing them my future business. read more

Really disappointed in the customer service. I scheduled an appointment for new tires. I arrived early yet my vehicle sat for 45 minutes past my appointment time before someone touched the vehicle. This was surprising as when I arrived I was told I would be on my way in 45 minutes to an hour. None of the service staff mentioned the delay or apologized for the inconvenience. I bought a new to me set of 4 wheels and tires for my SUV and took them to these guys to install. Since I was meeting the seller there, the rep offered to go out and inspect the wheels and tires for me before I paid for them, and also scanned to make sure the car recognized the wheels. ZACK is the store manager. A very impressive down to earth person and a top shelf professional and super knowledgeable. ZACK, is extremely helpful, fair, and a decent person. Discount tire is always pretty busy when I visit, but I'm sure this early snow in October in Minnesota has them slammed for the season. They've been extremely busy as I've been here twice this week. Once on Monday for low air and wanted to inquire but it was too busy. I'm back on Wednesday with an appointment for new tires and they're still extremely busy, which is anticipated. I made this appointment Monday night and it was the last appointment for Wednesday. As other locations I've been to, they've offered great service and are always helpful! They're extremely patient even with people constantly calling and asking if their car is ready. I will say, it's definitely going to be a wait because they do also take walk ins. Around 5pm, they've asked some to make an appointment for another day or walk in earlier in the mornings to beat the crowd. The man who helped me also said walk ins were taking anywhere to 3 hours because of the volume of customers. Even now at 5:25pm, there's a line and they close at 6pm. It definitely takes more than 30 minutes to change tires, but they try to accommodate. read more

All the folks are great at the north Rochester location but one stands out - Holden is his name or something like that. Extremely helpful. Really they all are though. Ordered tires online using the Discount Tire app. Arrived a bit late for service. This appt. took a bit longer than expected as I brought in my '78 Chevrolet Silverado for 4 new tires. The tech did a phenomenal job explaining what he had done and apologized for taking longer than expected. I watched him off and on from their bay window. This tech has some serious customer service skills and knows his business. We take all our vehicles to this location for the past several years. It's managed very well from the appearance to the employees interactions with customers. Great job again Discount Tire North Rochester! You knocked it out of the park!! read more

It's the first day of real snow in Rochester. I was at the store today to get a quote on new snow tires. The tires were in stock and they had an opening today, or I could book it next week. I wasn't sure about a ride home, so took the appt next week. But by the time I got home, I found a ride. So I called the store within 10 minutes of leaving. There were 8 people in line when I left. I've now been on hold -- no one has even answered the phone in person -- for 1 hour and 6 minutes. I have worked retail; I know when it's busy it's hard to get to the phone. BUT, real paying customers are on the phone too -- people with appointments and/or with quotes. Real customers. In my retail days, I was taught to AT LEAST answer the phone and ask for a few minutes. Then jump back to the phone between "live" customers. Even on busy days, this is a good option. The alternative is that you lose the customers you've ignored. Set up an online appointment. Arrived Monday 6/22/2020 at 4:45pm called and the technician came out, got my information and got me right in. All the staff and technicians wore masks. No one touched the inside of my vehicle. Nice to see that Tony and his crew at Discount Tire are taking COVID seriously. I had a great first experience with Discount Tires this winter when I got new tires for my vehicle. The employees are nice, the shop is clean, and the service is quick. I brought in an online price quote from a competitor after they quoted me more, and they not only matched it but gave me an even lower price! My most recent experience is what prompted me to write this review though. My parents were in from out of state visiting the grand city of Rochester and unfortunately found themselves with a flat. I recommended we stop by to see if they could patch it quickly. We were in and out within ~25 minutes but the best part was when my dad went to pay the bill, the employee said "nope, we've got this one." A simple, easy gesture that is lost these days when most companies are looking to nickel and dime you for everything they can. read more

Update: 12/27/14 - Updating my rating to 4 stars, The store manager, Patrick, reached out to me and offered to repair the wheels free of charge, and change all the valve stems to matching ones. The entire process was handled very professionally and I have to commend Patrick on the way he handled it. The wheels were repaired to near perfect condition. I'm confident that this branch of discount tire will go the extra mile to ensure that the costumer is satisfied. My recommendation is to bring it to their attention if there are any scratches that were caused by tire mounting and based on my experience they will do their utmost to make it right. **Original review below** Do not, bring your performance wheel/tires here. Brought in 18" wheels They will tell you they can mount low profile tires without scratching the wheels, but they will. Brought two cars here today for new tires. I had scheduled back-to-back appointments. Thankfully, with the first car, they brought the car back right away and it was done in about 45min. I drive that one home and get my second car returning prior to my 2nd appointment time. It has now been 67 minutes since my 2nd appointment time and I am still looking at my 2nd car where I parked it in their lot, Discount Tire having not touched it since I returned. Attempted to rip-off my wife when she arrived with a slow-leaking tire on a C300. They informed her that the tire was wrecked and would need to be replaced. Then tried to sell her two used stock tires for $700, (after telling her new stock tires would be well over $1k) Took the car to the MB dealership who said that the tear in the tire looked somewhat suspicious, then they put on two new stock tires for $550. I had another great experience at this store. I ordered some new tires and made an appointment for a couple days later because the tires were not on-site the day I showed up. I asked if they could fill up one of my tires which I thought had a slow leak especially since I was taking a long trip over the weekend. When the tech went to check, he thought maybe to just switch it out with a loaner until I got my new tires on a couple days later which I didn't realize was even possible and thought a good idea. He talked to the manager who then told me that if I could stick around for a little bit he'd send someone to go pick up the tires and just get it all done for me today before my big trip over the weekend! Everyone was super friendly, making sure I knew that they would rotate them for free when the time came (in about 5000 miles). Definitely go to this store! read more

I've gone to these guys before for tires and wheels, and I've always had a good experience. I dropped off my car for a seal and buff 30 minutes before my scheduled time. I was told it would take 20-30 minutes, and I arrived back 40 minutes after I dropped it off thinking I would wait maybe 10 minutes or that it could already be done. I saw it sitting in the back of the lot, probably already done, but I went in and waited for them to let me know (as they said they would call me when it was completed). No one called, and I sat there for over 30 minutes in the lobby. The guy I checked in with, Adam, saw me sitting in the lobby for all that time and never bothered to walk over or have someone tell me it was done. He gets 1 star. The reason I gave the 5 stars is because the second guy I worked with gave me the $50 service for free since I waited so long and it was their fault for not communicating with me. After having a terrible customer service experience with a local furniture store, the customer service remedy at this Discount Tire was exactly how they should have handled it. If they screw up they will own up and take care of you. I will be back! Thanks guys. read more
