The manager at Riverdale Utah store was efficient, friendly and great to work with. I have told everyone that will listen to me, "if you need tire help, go to Riverdale Discount Tires, the manager is amazing!" I live in Nevada, but was in Utah for a few days, so I do not typically use them, they are not in my area. I went there for a tire repair because I had a slow leak in one of my tires. A guy came out when I arrived and asked what I needed, so I told him I required a flat repair because there was a staple in the tread area. First, he asked if I had bought the tires at Discount Tire, and I said no; they were already on the car when we purchased it. After that, he looked at the tire for about 15 seconds and claimed it was in an unrepairable location. Then, he started talking about getting new tires. I simply told him I would go somewhere else. I drove down the street and stopped at another shop. They asked for my key, took my car back, fixed the tire, and wouldn't let me pay for the repair. Always get a second opinion. read more

Discount Tire has always taken great care of us. Very pleased to say that the Riverdale Utah location definitely holds the same standards. Although they were very busy, I was greeted right away. The lobby was very clean, plenty of seating, with a kids play area. No chaos or shouting in the back either. Michael was very thorough, checked all four tires and not just the one with a nail in it. He got the truck back and fixed up, and we were back on the road in no time... with no charge! I remember my husband got his tires for a really great price (nearly half the cost the dealership quoted). Happy they back up all their sales with great service too. Makes it worth every penny. I made an appointment and arrived on time and still had to wait 42 minutes for them to look at my car, then it took them another hour to tell me that they didn't like that one of my tires was patched by another company and refused to service my vehicle. If I make an appointment, I expect them to respect my time. They are disorganized, unprofessional, and their sales pitches and pointing at their little sales sign in the lobby gets old fast. This was not the first time with a bad experience at this location. First time they left weights inside the tires. This time I had an appointment Arrived 10 minutes early while waiting in line they assisted the person in front of me that didn't have an appointment then another employee checked me in and told me they would be getting me next. I waited for 30 minutes then asked why I have not been called. They finally checked me in another 30 minutes I see the person that didn't have an appointment getting their tires replaced. I brought it to their attention that I had an appointment and people that didn't have appointments were being serviced before me. Then they finally get my car in. 5 minutes later they have me purchasing new lug nuts. I really wish i would have asked to see them. There will not be a third time. Well, the sales man was very high pressure and insisted I buy what he wanted to sell that day. I to,d him about other brands I was interested in but he kept telling me they weren't as good as what he was selling. So I ended up with tires I really didn't want and don't think they are right for my car. But I am on the road again. Jason helped me today. All the info was in the computer already and he got my car into a bay where all the hardworking guys began doing what they do best. ABSOLUTELY impressed with Karson, Matthew and the rest of the staff regarding the service I received at the Riverdale, Utah Discount Tire last night. Driving down I-15, my tire pressure warning light had come on, indicating the pressure in my right rear tire was low (27/35). I figured maybe the cold air had taken a toll and somehow caused the drop in pressure. It was holding steady so I figured I just needed to air it up. No worries, I thought... 30 seconds with an air hose and I'd be good to go. Problem was, I didn't have the $1.50 to $2.00 most gas stations charge for their air compressor machine so I found a nearby Discount Tire, pulling in at 5:57pm - literally three minutes before they were due to close. I hopped out of my car and an employee jogged over to greet me. Karson (With a K! ), without even a hint of "bro, do you know what time it is?" in his voice, asked how he could help. I explained I was just looking for the air hose thinking I would do it myself as I didn't want to bother them on such a cold, wet, rainy night just minutes before closing. Despite the time, he quickly said he'd be happy to help me out, no problem. Just back the vehicle up next to the hose he pointed to and he'd get me takin' care of. While filling up the tire, he noticed how low it felt and, feeling around the tire surface, found a nail head, tucked deep between the treads, just barely visible. Without a second of hesitation he looked up and said "You've got a nail right here... Why don't you bring the car into the bay and we'll take care of it for you right now." I glanced at my phone, checking the time, and said, "Are you sure? " He answered, "Yep. I'm not gonna let you go like this. Pull around and we'll get it taken care of." I'll admit I was a little bit shocked but a whole lot of grateful. He showed me to the waiting area (clean and bright, I might add) where Matthew checked me in, offered me a bottled water, pointed out the candy dish and, mentioning the free Wi-Fi, and said they'd get me back on the road ASAP. All at a time they should have been locking up - not taking on another customer. And not ONCE during this whole sequence of events did I sense or detect even a hint of "Man, it's closing time" attitude from anyone. Incredible. 100% Professional. 100% Customer Service. 100% Courtesy. And a 5-STAR rating from this guy. And all this for a freebie, a free tire repair, provided literally AFTER hours on a cold, dark, rainy Thursday night. A short 23 minutes later I was on my way, safe, sound and 100% impressed. THAT'S how you run a customer-centric business. I mean, I hadn't stopped in for $1500 worth of tires and rims or having some high dollar repair done that would boost their bottom line totals for the day... This was a FREE courtesy service that would not bring in a dime or help the store meet any performance or sales goals. Seriously, guys... THANK YOU. Your professionalism, kindness, courtesy, and expertise was VERY much appreciated. Oh, almost forgot - Carson (with a C) was a great guy, too, and doing a good job with the broom as he and the rest of the staff was busy cleaning up around me. SIDENOTE: I actually called the local Chevy dealership at about 5:40pm while still on the road to see what time they closed, explaining how my tire pressure indicator light had come on and that I just needed to air it up. Though they would be open 'til 6pm, the manager politely said they were finishing up with their last car at that very moment but I was welcome to bring the car in the next day. Now, granted, I don't know their policies for accepting customers so close to closing but how long does it take to air up a tire - or repair one, for that matter? (Especially the tire of someone who just bought a brand new 2019 Traverse?) HINT: it's about 23 minutes. I just swapped my winter wheel/tire set and needed to relearn TPMS. Dawson from Riverdale store relearned my QX50 TPMS and even made sure air pressure is in spec. I was there 5 minutes with no appointments. Although I purchased my winter wheel and tire set from the Clinton store I no longer go there because of poor service. They want me to make an appointment just to get the winter set I bought from them relearned. They also don't have clue on how to relearn TPMS on a 2019 QX50. I went into the store at 9:30AM on a Wednesday morning. I told the sales person I had to leave by 11AM. I had a good idea of what I needed and after about two mins I had tires picked out and he told me I had made the sale easy. He also told me it would be tight but he promised me he'd get me out by 11AM. When 11:10AM arrived I finally told them I needed to go asked them if my car was nearly done, a guy looked at my and told me it hadn't even been pulled back. Now I am looking around realizing that people who came in AFTER me were already gone, it seemed to me like they forgot about me. I understand that things happen but there were no apologies, or accountability, the same guy who helped me said to me "if you need to leave, then leave." A few hours later made it back and got my tires done. Then when I was leaving I asked one of the guys about tread, he said it was really bad on three of the tires but that he didn't have a chance to see the other one (lie). He asked me if I wanted them and said he could bag them up for me. I declined, I left and I was thinking about why the tread would have only been bad on three of the four tires and about five seconds later I remembered that I recently had the front driver's side tire replaced. THEY DIDN'T SAY A DAMN THING TO ME - are they THAT hard up for a sale that they couldn't take two mins to say to me "Hey, this tire looks brand new are you sure you want a replacement for it?" I was livid by that point. I called them to get the good tire (I don't even know if they gave me the good one, I still need to check the tire part number because this store is as crooked as it can get. I spoke with the district manager. He offered to send me a check for the cost of the tire, and apologized. I can't say I'm seriously impressed with the resolution because theft (imo) and taking advantage of women just because you can really shows me what your company values are about. I will use my warranties because I paid for them, but I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO DISCOUNT AGAIN. Well that was the worst service I've had in a while anywhere. When in today because I bought some tires last week the new tires that I bought I was told were going to be on the same level as my old ones which did great in the snow. Last night we got about one fourth of an inch of snow in these new tires made me slip, like I was wearing ice skates.. Hands-down the worst tires I've ever had went into to talk to discount tire today. And was utterly appalled at the service. I felt talked down to and basically told that I need to buy the most expensive tires they offer, if I want to be happy in the snow. Had a great experience here last month. My wife needed some new tires, and I needed a rotation too and thought we'd get both taken care of at the same time! We made appointments for both, and although it was very busy and near their closing time, they did an awesome job accommodating us and making us feel welcome, even with several questions that I could completely understand being frustrating while they were so busy. I used to use Discout Tires all the time at one point! Then I went to different locations because I was having issues with the managers! Then 1 year ago they just could not get it right or even try to help me figure out the tire and wheel issue! So I went somewhere else and the issue was figured out quickl! Then just the other day I went in toget a flat repair fixed at 2 different locations because the first guy told me they couldn't touch the tire because the tires were over a certain age limit! So I just left and went to the last place I end up buying new tires and rims for my last set up and they took me in right away and fixed the problem right away and I asked them how do my tires look and they said great and they did it for free knowing I will be back if I need anything so Discount tire definitely has tire sale pressures telling me my tires are old and I was hazard being on the road so they wouldn't touch them they told me!
