Okay I have to say... every time I come to Discount Tire, the service is good. BUT today?? Ancil Flores was on a whole different level, like straight out of a Marvel movie Before they even opened the doors, he was already outside checking out my car AND being super sweet to my 5-year-old. Like sir... do you sleep or just save people all day?? My flat tire was covered under warranty (thank you God ), but the rest of my tires had officially reached their final destination I had no clue how I was gonna handle that. Ancil didn't just help, he walked me step-by-step through Affirm and made it happen. And listen... I am NOT tech-savvy. I'm still learning all these new things, but he was so patient, explained everything clearly, and never made me feel rushed or confused. This was one of the most painless, stress-free experiences I've had. 10/10 recommend. Give that man a cape already. Every discount tire needs an Ancil Flores. read more

Went in to see about a nail in the tire, was not repairable but they got a new one on for a fair price and excellent service time. Later after retrieving the vehicle my wife noticed some damage to the wheel. Needless to say we went back and inquired with the staff. Not only were they incredibly kind and willing to replace the wheel for us, in the end we got the issue resolved and I will certainly be keeping my business here with Discount tire. I would not recommend this place. I've gotten brand new tires and lug nuts prior to my visit steering wheel shook when I switched lanes which confused me because everything is new on my truck. they told me I needed it balanced. So I paid to have them balanced. Then they told me my lug nuts are swollen and need new ones when the ones on my truck are brand new and look brand new. Guess they see a new truck and see I have money or something. I ended up leaving and my truck did same thing. I had another tire shop tell me about lane departure warning which I didn't know truck did that. and after that it didn't shake anymore. discount tire is very unprofessional and lied and robbed me to make money off me. I visited this location on Slide road in Lubbock Tx to get two tires fixed. One of the tires was on the truck I was driving and the other tire was in the truck bed that belongs to a classic truck. Both of the tires have slow air leaks. The tire on the truck I was driving was bought at this location. I was told if the tire wasn't able to get fixed, what did I want to do. I advised him for them to just put it back on. He stated if it can't be fixed we can't put it back on. I stated that I would put it back on if I needed to. He said that I would not be allowed to put the tire on. I figured that they were going say that the tire could not be fixed so that they could sale me a new tire. I told the guy to not fix the tire on the truck I was driving and for lack of better judgement on my part I told him to just fix the tire I had in the truck bed. I was called about 20 minutes later and advised that they could not fix the tire because it had gotten a nail and the nail had made another hole....what! I told the guy I would go get the tire. When I arrived I gave the guy there my name and he said he would load the tire on my truck. I walked outside and the guy was rolling the tire in one hand the wheel in the other hand. I told him if they could at least put the tire back on the wheel. He rolled them back and a few minutes later put the tire leaning on the bed rail. I went to lay it down on the bed and noticed they had not put air in the tire. I drove around to the tire air station and they put air in the tire. I drove to the Crest tire place on 34th street and the tire was fixed. The guy said it had a nail in the tire. A week later the tire has not lost any air. Discount Tire at this location is scheming people into buying new tires. Do not go here to get a tire fixed or you will probably end up buying a new tire or tires. I have been buying tires here for years. I will never buy or get tires fixed here again. read more

I had originally got my tires checked as my tire light would not turn off and the first time I was just sent on my way. A week later my tire was completely flat. Which was weird because I thought I had just got them checked. I called discount tire very frustrated but the Manager and his staff sent someone over to change my tire free of charge and was extremely helpful with getting my tire fixed. I got 4 tires from them in February of this year, and one of them got a wooden piece into the sidewall. Something that can't be fixed. But I got the warrenty, so they will replace it anyway. But I got there at 5:33 and they close at 6, so it was already late. Also they don't have a replacement tire anywhere in Lubbock and the warehouse closed at 5pm. But they would have one on Monday. After I told them I am driving to New Mexico on Sunday they got me a different tire I can use until I come back from my trip. This is just great, not only do I get my tire replaced, no I get a temporary one so I can drive a couple of hundred miles. And as soon as I am getting back, I will get my new tire and all of this free of extra charges. Best customer service I had so far with tires. read more

Only reason they got 1 star is because nothing is lower. Called ahead to see if they had my tire no. Was in a bind cause 1 tire had side wall damage. Purchased 4 new tires. Was last person in shop that evening. If you are over 40, you are treated poorly, and with complete disregard to wait time. If you walk in and have your hat on backwards, pants not pulled up, you are moved to the front of the line no waiting. Counted 10 customers come in after me and taken care of , in and out 20 minutes, me 2 hours. 3 ladies were there when I got there (also over 40) with cars on the jacks, with tires off. Technicians stopped working on them and went to the younger clients, in and out. Salesman treated me with disrespect, and sold me the only tires he had in the shop to fit my vehicle. When I drove off pulled doors down closed for the night with low tire light warning on the dash. read more

I went to the discount tire to get a leak checked on one of my tires, after getting it checked the man checking it told me that there was no leak and that I should be fine, after I had asked if it would be fine to take a 10 hour road trip on the tires, and they said yes, and filled my tire with air when it was on air pressure of 5, when you're not even supposed to air it up if it's below 15 and CHARGED me for it. so they not only let me drive away with a tire that was at high risk for blowing out, but they charged me for the air check, which I am almost positive they don't usually do that. 10/10 do not recommend going to this location. read more

I am impressed with the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Today they went above and beyond to remove the nail, balance and rotate, and fixed a valve. Discount Tires has a nice waiting area, clean bathroom, cell charging counter, and complimentary beverages. It's a pleasant short wait for your vehicle. Discount Tire is doing everything right. Bought some fancy wheels, and tires for my Dodge Durango. When I got home I noticed that an Allen wrench would be needed to remove the cover over the lug nuts. Did they tell me? No. So, l added one to my emergency tool kit. Now, on a trip to Dallas, had a flat in the middle of nowhere. Took off the cover, and discovered the lug nuts we're, " different," and needed a special tool. Cost $ 300.00 for road service to come from Abilene and change a tire! Found out, they were supposed to give me this special tool when I purchased the wheels. I guess they just forgot. Am I really unhappy! You bet l am. read more

I know they try to hard sell you on new tires but they are in it to make some money and their prices really are cheap. I bought new tires and they sold me a rim and tire package for a price that no one, not even online competitors could beat. I have done service with Discount Tire for years, & today was the worst service I've ever had! First they weren't the most pleasant to talk too. Secondly I was disgusted at the fact that they had me walk all the way around to the back end of the store to get my car after they rotated and balanced the tires. For every other customer in front of me, they pulled their cars around, but did not for me. Don't get wrong I know it doesn't hurt to walk, but seeing the very ugly view the back of the store had wasn't the most comforting feeling. Treat all the customers the same is how I feel. First, this place is busy like most Discount Tires. They offer appointments and this is a great idea particularly if you are getting new tires. Wife's car picked up a screw in the front driver side tire. Took it in and the tire was repaired for no charge. Everyone at the desks were polite and professional. They even had a cooler full of water for guests. It took 2 hours as they were super busy. Was ok for me, because we just dropped off the car. I'm not too sure why all the negative reviews, but I had a typical discount car experience. I will go back. read more

I had rented a 2019 Dodge Caravan from Hertz. I decided to buy their insurance as I was traveling from California to Central Texas. We had gotten a flat just outside of Lubbock and pulled into a nearby gas station. We tried to contact Hertz's Emergency Road Service and after being on hold for over a half hour I had my daughter call AAA so they could change the tire out. As usual AAA came out timely, and the tow truck driver told us to be careful driving on the spare. He recommended that we get it fixed in Lubbock. Hertz Emergency Service answered after an hour and 15 minutes. We were told by them to have the tire fixed at Discount Tire. As it was early evening I went the next day and met with Justin. He let me know that the tire was unrepairable and the other back tire had a bulge and advised me to replace it. We both tried to contact Hertz several times before Justin was able to get a hold of someone there. After Justin explained the situation he was told by the Hertz rep that it was the customer's problem. I told the rep that I paid over $30.00 a day for their insurance protection so why was it my problem. So much for their "no worries insurance". Justin continued trying to work out the problem with Hertz and told me - "don't worry if they won't take care of you we will get those tires for you". Finally after what seemed like a half hour Justin was able to get Hertz to cover the expense so that I could be on my way. Justin went way ABOVE AND BEYOND his normal customer service duties and saved me from going ballistic. He is one in a million and Discount Tire is REALLY LUCKY to have him. I got 4 new tires here in Nov 2010 and it was really convenient. I live nearby, so I could drop off my car here if something was up and walk to get it. The salespeople were nice to me and got me in and out pretty quickly, and it was the week before Thanksgiving so they were already going to be busy with other students. Check their websites to fit your tires to stay in the right price range and look for rebates before you go. And call ahead to make sure they have the tires you want...these three things will always save you a lot of time and hassle if you do your homework first. read more

I'm only giving this place one star because there is not a ZERO rating. I'm so frustrated with this business. It seems like every time I come here UNLESS they sell me a new set of tires I have the worst experience ever!! I waited just under two hours for them to tell me my tire was not safe and needed to be replaced!! The salesman and I saw the nail in the middle of the tread and it was a pin nail no bigger than a number 4 in diameter! BUT, They said it had a patch previously installed that was not PMA approved and because of that they refused to even put my tire back on!! They put my donut spare on and told me to have a nice day!! I complained to the manager and they found an old worn out tire and put it on! The tread would maybe barely pass inspection!!! I looked at the patch in the tire that was now in the back of my car that was not PMA approved and asked what they did differently and they said the hole had to be plugged and then a tire patch installed on the inside. At this point they said they valued my business and offered to give me a new tire! They said they did not have a tire to match my Michelin tire so they installed a brand new tire. All I wanted was a simple flat fixed!!! Two hours later I left. I never expected nor did I want a new tire at their expense. I just expected them to fix a tiny nail hole that was slowly letting the air out of my tire. read more

Wow!, they saw us coming. My Son goes to Tech and he needed news tires for his car to drive home for Spring Break. I am not in Lubbock so I could not go with him to the shop. They overcharged him for tire prices, mounting, and for the tire return fee. I called to question the prices while the car was on the lift. Got lots of attitude but no discount... Tire was mounted without wheel covers and missing tire stems. I Paid 2X what I believe I normally would have paid.. Would recommend that you avoid this store read more
