I reached out to Read Raider for a quick jump which I knew would be expensive. However, unfortunately, it's one of those things you have to do from time to time. I was told they'd be to me in 30 minutes. The shop was seven minutes away. When I called back an hour and a half later, I was told the driver was on the way. Listen I get it sometimes things happen and you can't be there as quick as you thought. This is not the issue, however. A tour bus like many large vehicles are a 24 V system. Which was identified to them when I called. You have to have a 24 V system or a 24 V jump box to jump that vehicle. Upon the drivers arrival, I asked him if he had a 24 V jump box he said no, but he could do it off of the little truck. I let him do his thing after an hour of him trying he started taking the batteries apart and trying to charge the batteries separately. Which was not working at all. I told him to stop doing what he was doing and we had to figure out how to jump this 24 V system. We were on a time crunch. We were working on three hours at this point from the time of call. After you tubing and googling, he came to the conclusion he couldn't do it. He then tells one of my crew members he's headed back to the shop to grab the 24 V jump box. After him not showing back up for a half hour and no one answered my phone calls. I made a phone call and was able to find someone that could come jump me off and it only took 30 seconds to do it. If you can't do something, don't say you can if you're having issues, just be honest, wrecker companies, and roadside assistance, tow companies, such as these give all tow companies a bad name this I know due to being a tow operator that runs heavy in another part of the state and have been a tow operator for a very credible company for 15 years on the side when I'm not driving buses. It's unfortunate people like this exist. I would not recommend this company to one person. Please choose another company before using this one.

This was between Clovis Hwy and 4th St. I tried passing the truck using the center lane (yes, I know that technically that is not legal because that lane is only for making turns --- I was late for a night shift and in a hurry) and the driver swerved over to block me! When I reached the light at Frankford and 4th, he was in the lane to the right of me and was yelling and honking his horn. I did not make eye contact or respond --- how would that have helped? The driver then turned right (West) onto 4th street. I realize that I may have annoyed your driver by trying to pull around and ahead of him, but his response was on the "road rage" side. I'm sorry if he was having a bad day. What if my need to hurry to pass him was a real emergency, or I didn't notice him swerving into the middle lane? I did not see a license plate on the back of the tow truck. Strange and scary.

I had a hankering for Spaghetti, and decided to hit Walmart to get my ingredients real early in the morning, before a snow storm was to hit. I go out, warm my car and get on my way. A minute into my drive, my sensor goes off stating that one my tires is only 9 psi. WHOA. So I make it back home and park, and then check out all my tires. Sure enough, the back right tire was "hissing" and I could see there was a shard of metal sticking up out of it. Dang it.....No spaghetti for me. :( I check my trunk to see if I have a donut and jack. YUP YUP. But, as a failsafe I check yelp to see if there are any tow services around, just in case. I found Gotcha Towing and sent them a message. Quick response in under a half hour of the quote to put on the donut, if I needed it. The snow started and I chose to hold off on putting the donut on until it stopped. I did not have wheel chocks, so I thought I might have to get her towed anyway, but luckily my Awesome neighbor helped me out and we put the donut on in about 10 minutes. So, I did not need Gotcha, but they were very quick to respond and I really appreciate that so much. If I ever need their services (hopefully NOT), I will be sure to reach out, the are pretty cool. And I did get my Spaghetti after all. Thank God for Deidre from Instacart! Appreciate her too! ;)

I have had my vehicle serviced by Mavis in the past thanks to Chasin and Mitch. They made the experience smooth and easy they are not the reason for the 2 star review. AGAIN THE WORKERS ARE NOT THE REASON FOR THE BAD REVIEW. I have read so many reviews that are hidden in their multitude of them but they are all stating the same or similar thing. Yes some of their mechanics don't give a f because they aren't valued some actually do care. They are taught "policy" when a real mechanic would know how to keep a car safe. I have seen and heard first hand of the attitude from the "managers" of this business. If someone at corporate would talk with me I'd love to talk with them. There is a bigger matter at hand which I would love to discuss. My fiancé worked at Mavis from Feb 2026 to May of 2026. He would have still been there and not quit if due to Alex telling my fiancé that our miscarriage wasn't a valid reason for taking off work that day. We provided valid documentation to him which still didn't matter. I was a higher risk and ended up hemorrhaging and having to call 911 for borderline shock in which I almost died if he wasn't with me. As a company, there is a professional way to handle matters like this. One of them, not being that it isn't a valid reason. Alex is not a good manager and does not value his employees. They are narcissistic and manipulative towards everyone beneath them. They will say something completely uncalled for and then when you bring it to their attention they will (what's referred to in romantic relationships as) "love bombing". Even after hearing the conversations with Alex personally and my husband, and the google reviews you see when searching his name... I have come to an understanding of who he is as a person and none of those qualities qualify him as a manager. We had been in communication with him and provided the pictures (attached to this review). If Mavis has past employment information, please contact my fiancé Tristan LaFuze. Otherwise comment with corporates number and we will be in contact. This is unacceptable as an employer and it should be handled appropriately.
