Horrible service. Had a 4:30 appointment. They called at 2:20 and wanted to come then. I was in a meeting and couldn't answer (there was a reason we set up appointment at 4:30). They left a message that they could be there in 10 minutes and to call back if that worked. I got out of my meeting at 3:35 and heard the message. Didn't call them back because I had missed the time. 4:30 arrived and nobody shows. I called and they said "we called you and nobody answered" They said i needed to set up another time since I missed them. Um, no. I didn't miss our appointed time! read more

We have used George's since they were located in front of Gibson's Department store in Lubbock! They have been great for our home, office, and rental properties. Never have been disappointed. They have always been there when they say they will be there and have charged what they have quoted. (Well, they have charged me less a few times when the job was easier than I described!) They have unlocked doors, drilled safes, replaced standard locks, fixed vintage locks, created keys to vintage candy machines, and installed keyless locks for me. Well George told us a $100 to reprogram a key to a Ford Escape. Said that would solve our problems, that the computer forgot the key. Then George drilled out the lock cylinder without consulting with us first. Destroyed the key cylinder and told me to go buy another cylinder. $100-$150 additional. The parts house didn't have the correct year model but George said the one they had would work. I asked George before buying the key cylinder how much I would owe him. He still quoted $100. So I go buy the wrong year model on George's advice. Bring it to him and he said it wouldn't work. Then he wanted a $100, I said fine I'll get the correct cylinder tomorrow and bring it back. It was almost closing time. He said if I bring it back it would be $50 additional to install it and program it. I reminded him he quoted me $100 for the complete job. He didn't care. I think if a shop is going to drill out your key cylinder without asking then they should tell you the cost will now be about triple what he originally quoted and give you the opportunity to say don't do any work or proceed with the work fully knowing it will cost 3 time as much. It's my daughters car and now she has a steering column dissembled, in pieces on the floorboard. All for $100 and it is now more broken then when I took it there. He is a crook! Very unprofessional. I lost my only key to a 2005 expedition. Called another locksmith first but was told it would be next week till they would get to it. I didn't want to leave my truck parked over the weekend in a very bad part of town which is where it was. Called this business at 11:30 in the morning and they tell me they'll be able to do it but it will be in the afternoon. Called them back at 3, was told they have a car and a truck ahead of me. Told them I didn't want to incur after hour charges, they assured me I didn't have to worry about that. Called them again at 4:30 because I had to leave for about 30 minutes and didn't want to miss them. Man answering phone seems annoyed that I'm calling again and tells me they'll call me when they're on their way. @5:58 I call them again because they told me they close at 6; they don't answer- gone for the day. Never did they bother to call and tell me to seek other options because apparently they don't need the business. Needless to say, I would never use them or recommend to anyone. Ended up calling someone else that charged me the after hours rate but arrived within 30 min. read more

Took a lock for my storage building in because we had lost the keys. The could not find the code online so they said they would have to cut a key by hand. It took them about 10 minutes and I had three new key for my lock. Only $ 15.00! The two gentlemen I felt with were great!! I will be back!! read more

my new company van arrived at my house this morning. was brought down from Colorado ut the keys for the puck locks on the van are missing. called George's they said i could bring the van in or they can come to me for a $25.00 charge. spoke with my boss he said just have them come to your house. so they arrived at 4:30 pm. told them what i needed done then went back to paper work. well i got a call and had to leave for about 2 hours or so. i asked them now are u guys going to be able to get what i need done if so i'll pay ya now for the service and leave. i paid $140.00 dollar to leave and get back home with nothing but a key tumbler drilled out and either locks van off my van. so i'm still in the same boat i was in when i got the van at 9 am this morning. still can not get in where all my tools and parts are. no phone call explaining why my van was left the way it is was nothing. my wife was even home and they knew she was because i called her and told her to tell them to put the keys in the mail box . they just left. very unprofessional i want recommend them to no one. read more
