I had a great experience at Discount Tire thanks to Jake M. I initially called to ask about wait times and was told about an hour in and out. At the time, I was at Belle Tire and they quoted me around two hours, so that already stood out. When I arrived, there was a line, but I waited no more than two minutes before being helped. Jake greeted me right away with a friendly attitude and asked what was going on. I explained that I was hoping to save my flat tire, but if not, I was planning to just replace one. He took the time to walk outside with me, look at my car, and explain that all four of my tires were dry rotting. He recommended replacing them for safety, which I really appreciated. When I asked about financing, he walked me through the pre-approval process step by step and made everything easy to understand. I was approved for a great amount and was able to get a full set of quality tires. I was experiencing tremendous vibration coming up through my steering wheel. I suspected that a balancing weight had fallen off of one or more of my wheels due to MICHIGAN POTHOLES. This location is down the street from my work but that convenience is the only reason I have come repeatedly. The tire check is around the side of the building and it feels very 'out of sight, out of mind', even if you drive over the hose that rings their bell. Requested snow tires for the rear of my 2019 Ford F150. Salesman inspected my current tires and said they were worn out. I told him my vehicle had only 30,000 miles on it and should not need new tires. He was unmoved and insisted they needed to be replaced. I suggested perhaps some other time but right now I needed snow tires, Would he put two on the rear of my vehicle. Said he would only do four tires. he was adamant. I took my truck's winter tires in to get balanced and they refused to touch them because they were over 10 years old, even though they were in excellent condition, hence I only use during winter months. Hate to write a negative review -but our last experience there was not very good. This location is less than a mile from our house - I have bought at least 6 sets of top end tires from them in the last 15 -20 years. My wife has a Honda Cr-V that had low air in left front tire - I filled it up and had her go to DT to have it checked out. They said it was leaking from a plug patch from a year ago. I had checked it my self the day before - no air leak....??? They said they should replace all 4 tires - even though had tread left for 5 -10K still on tires. My wife called me and I told her we would get a second opinion - they said they couldn't put the tire back on because it was "UNSAFE" - they finally did and she left. The problem was found to be a leaky valve stem. I fixed that - tire still on car - no loss in tire pressure. Drove to Indiana and back, probably 700 - 800 miles later - still no problem. Really don't trust them any more, will go to CostCo or Belle Tire from now on.... read more

Wow! Discount Tire is super busy and yet they have the customer service factor in the bag! I made an appointment for Saturday and, somewhat forgetting the actual appointment time, I wandered in within the hour. They never told me I was an hour early or that I should come back at the time of my actual appointment... nope! They had my tire situation diagnosed and repaired inside of 40 minutes. As I was leaving the line of customers was out the door. If this were a one time event I might say so, but it's worth mentioning that Discount Tire is always professional and quick. So I had been looking for a new set of tires for a car for a while and it's an older model so the tires that I had were no longer available and so I had to choose a different one in the same Hankook family that was within a reasonable range in price. Trey was the man hooking me up he gave me 3 options to look at and choose from and in the end since the same tires were available online from a competitor for a lower price and I he matched the price and ordered the tires which came in the next day. I arrive there about 2 hours before close and since I called ahead I was able to get everything taken care of before close the tire installation includes a warranty on the tire and protection for things like plugs for nails in the road. All in all I had a good experience and saved some money to boot so I'd recommend this location based on the staff, ease of getting the task done and value for the tires I purchased. read more

However, Dan gave me a reasonable tread allowance, Most importantly their fast and efficient service had a new tire mounted on the rim and loaded in my car within 1/2 an hour. I've come to this Discount Tire location a number of times for replacements and for routine repairs. This week, I had an issue with a slow leak...something that was bugging me for quite some time. Making an appointment online is suggested for fast service and I did just that (very easy). When I arrived, I checked in outside and Sean greeted me and I told him about the slow leak and his tech found a screw that was apparently the cause. One of the best things about Discount Tire are a number of their repairs are free of charge and they make a point of not upselling you on products. Sean was great to work with. Also, all of their staff follow COVID protocols and there is open spacing with the seating. I had no issues driving home, but the following day I noticed that I was still getting a bit of leakage. It didn't irk me since I've had small leaks before. Their shop sent a customer follow-up survey and I mentioned I still had a small leak, but that I also thought the staff and crew at that location were some of the friendliest and most helpful. I was surprised the next day Matt (I think one of supervisors/managers) called me and asked if I could come in so they could look at the problem more -- great customer service! I came back that day and they looked over the wheel again. He and the shop technician showed me (I wish I had taken a picture) that I had corrosion eating away at the edge bead and it's one of the downsides of chrome wheels (I had recently read that, too, when I was looking into leak causes). Of course, no promises could be made with that type of corrosion but they did the best job they could with sealing it and Matt and the shop technicians were generous with their time.  I waited a couple days to write this review and I'm happy to say the pressure is staying nicely...but even if the leak continues, I now know the cause and that short of getting a new wheel/rim, I'll probably have a reoccurring issue.  I'm more than satisfied and happy with the level of service and honest follow-up and will continue to return here for new tires and service when needed. If I could give negative rating I would, on 5-7-22 I went to discount tire on middle belt to have have them loosen lug nuts they OVER tightened, even tho I was a returning customer that had his tires replaced I wasn't given a priority letting him know my brother and I were going to do the breaks, I know everyone is probably, Oh shade tree mechanic... That is NOT The case, he is a certified master mechanic and. Works for the city Telling me that both of us didn't know how to break lug nuts loose!!!! I spent ten years working at a repair shop and oil change shops in my teens. So telling me I don't know LEFTY LOOSY RIGHTY TIGHTY.!!!! He dose not know and he doesn't and he is up front trying to over sell his over priced tires..!! This is a 2.5 star review. The tire pressures were 39-41 PSI. The manufacturer recommendation is 30 PSI. Otherwise; I arrived at 8AM for an 8:15AM appt. They got me in a few minutes early. Store is clean. Restrooms are clean. WiFi is excellent. No coffee. read more

I LOVE DISCOUNT TIRE! I've been a customer for over 10 years and the customer service has always been A1! I went to get air in my tire, and the gentleman pointed out that my front tire looked worn. Well, I went and spoke to Brian who turns out to be the manager. He was so nice and VERY PATIENT! He explained everything and was just AWESOME! Not sure if folks know that you can insure their tires in cases of bubbles in tires/blow out from out holes or nails in tires for like $12 each, but it's WORTH IT! Stop in and try them! Darius was very professional and efficient at the desk, I felt like I was in good hands. Both when I dropped my truck off and when I picked it up. Logan was also very professional. My only complaint is that I received a call that my tire could not be repaired and I need a replacement. I asked if they had my tire available and was told they had 18 available. GREAT! They served me quick and with no issues and I had my truck back on the road. When I got my truck the tire was a different style of Michilin and did not have the raised white letters like my other tires. This was never convey to me. I should have looked before I left. I'm not sure who I talked to on the phone. A little disappointed. I have a matching spare I would have preferred was used and the new one could have gone on as a spare. Nobody wants to pull into work with a raging flat tire on a Tuesday, but unfortunately, that was me yesterday. Out of nowhere, my back tire went flat after I ran over some kind of metal screw that sent my tire to flat quick and fast. After a frantic call to AAA and a switch out to my spare, I ended up here for repairs. I've been going to Discount on and off for about 10 years. I've been to several different locations across the country and I always have a positive experience regardless if the repairs are big or small. Today was no different and I ended up here because it was the closest one to work. Being that I had purchased tires from a different Discount Tire location with the road hazard insurance, I wanted to utilize it and get my tire fixed or replaced. I limped in with my gimp tire and stood in line at this very busy location. I told the guy what had happened, and he looked me up in the computer and found my file with my Hazard Insurance. What a lifesaver this was! He told me that there was at least an hour wait to get my car looked at, and then about another hour to repair and examine the damage to my tire. He also gave me a quote for worst case scenario if the tire was to damaged to be replaced, and shaved off about $20 for the cost to save me a few bucks. This really helped me out because who expects a random flat tire? He gave me an option to wait, or come back later in the day to get my tire repaired. I told him that I was at work and had to get back to my desk, so I chose to leave the car at the shop and have him call me. He was super accommodating and worked with my on my schedule. In the past, I've never had a problem getting a tire patched, and that's usually the case. They examined my tire and called to tell me that the puncture was to big and in a bad spot to be patched and safely repaired. Since I had the road hazard insurance (which, buy the way, is only $12 and the best $12 I've ever spent to date) the tire itself would be replaced at no charge. I was thrilled! He also gave me a discount on a second tire so that the tires would wear evenly, which I agreed with. Total cost? $132. I was happy with my service here, and even though I wasn't planning on this happening or having to randomly get a new set of back tires on a Tuesday afternoon, Discount made it easy for me in the end. I also like how nice the staff has been at any given Discount Tire store regardless of location that I go to. I'm a fan and will continue to shop here and do business with them for life! Also, which is super cool, they added my email address to the computer to send me email reminders of when I am due for a tire rotation. That's part of the road hazard coverage! I know that sounds like such a small thing, but it's nice to get a reminder email about silly adult stuff like this, ya know? I think they scammed me. Brought in a tire with a nail in it...approximately 2,000 miles on it (the car as well) and pulled off the road immediately after it happened. When I brought it in the guy said it was an easy fix, called me later and told me the inner tube was tore up and I needed a new tire. When I went to have the tire mounted I asked if I could see the old tire "sure, no problem, we'll get that and load it up for you, you can take it". Guy made sure to take my payment before telling me, "unfortunately, we have already disposed of your old tire". I don't think I really needed a new tire, it could have been easily repaired. Didn't trust the attitude of the guy I dealt with. They should make it mandatory to show the damage of the tire that's being replaced to the customer without the customer having to ask...common courtesy. read more

I have used Discount Tire before, but I was very impressed and happy with the customer service received recently in getting my two new tires. Travis was not only personable on the phone, but waiting for me to pull into a bay when I arrived. He had me rung up promptly and they had the absolute best pricing around. The lobby waiting area was clean and observed all the social distancing protocols. During the service they noticed an issue with the lug nuts (a manufacturing defect) to which they showed me and explained. We ended up replacing all of them cost effectively! The mechanic was also polite and professional when pulling my car around when done and explained the follow up maintenance too. The whole service only took about half an hour. Very nice experience! Called this place after another discount tire told me I needed to put a deposit on the tires that they order for me the next day. I always use discount tire and they never ask me for a deposit for tires to be ordered. Well I called around and this discount tire had the tires today. I told they rep that I needed to be complete in a certain amount of time and he assured me that he would do his best to get me out by then. As soon as I pulled up he took my keys. When I got in line to pay he told me that all I had to do was wait and they'd put my tires on first and I'd pay later. The report checked me out. This place is cool. Took my car in for a flat. Even though it was under warranty i had to wait almost a week. I felt rushed both times i was there. Worse part is i took my car to a mechanic because i heard clunking from the rear end, guess what they didn't secure the spare when they put it back like every other discount tire. Not sure if it's the entire chain or this specific Middlebelt location, but they are not familiar with the term "appointment". On Friday I made an appointment, in person, for the next day at 8am. After arriving 10 minutes earlier (as per suggested), I had to wait in line and watch everyone that arrived before me get served. At no time did anyone address the patrons to check for appointment holders. When I asked an employee about it, he told me that they do not make 8am appointments. So yeah, I left pissed. After speaking with a manager on the phone I was told that at the time I scheduled the appointment there we no appointments available. So I was lied to by the employee behind the counter. I absolutely love this place. They always take care of their customers. They were closed on Sunday and I ended up going to the competition, as they were the only one open. The tire that sears sold me wasn't even close to my Faulkener and they added a bunch of unnecessary warranties. long story short I ended up back at discount discount (another Michigan pothole) and my service guy replaced both my front tires and said to bring receipt in for the sears tire and they would reimburse me. They repaired the tire and told her she would have to pay 65.00 to put it on the car. I told her I'll take care of it myself. So they forgot to put the tire in the trunk. She had to drive back up there. I replaced the donut tire and put it on myself this morning. They never charge me for putting it on before. Never going to that location again. Went to store on a Wednesday to buy tires and made appointment for Friday at 10:30AM for the install. Arrived at 10:15AM and checked in. Sat and watched as 4-5 walk in customers were service in the sales area and the repair area while my truck sat in the lot. At 11:30AM I asked for my keys so I could leave. Salesman asked if I wanted to reschedule. I advised him I was leaving and going to get the tires elsewhere. All of a sudden they could get my truck in right away!! He stated it would be done in 20 minutes at 11:40AM. The truck was turned over to me with tires installed at 12:25PM. Then they tried to make things right by offering me a $20 bill to go get lunch which I did not accept. Just do things the right way. While driving home, it seemed to pull a little so I checked the tire pressures on the TPMS monitor in the truck. Front tires were 60 on the left and 71 on the right, rear tires were 65 on the right and 77 on the left!! The funniest part was they sent me a text stating the wait would be 30% shorter if I made a appointment!!! Seems to me I should have just walked in and would have been in and out a lot faster than making a appointment. The 1 star rating is for the store and staff, not the product. read more
