allow me to do a 1/2 star, I would do it. I am very un impressed we got an alignment for our pickup and came back two months later and it was not a goes a bit, they said you can purchase another alignment if you would did not fix it I would highly suggest not to use alignment or anything besides tires once again very disappointed. read more

they broke my cars axle while I was in the store just asking for a tire change but instead they caused the whole machine to fall down and they said they would repair it but they just towed my car and told me to get it fixed somewhere else. Bad service read more

Dropped my vehicle off at 1030 for an 11 appointment and was asked when I needed it done. I said in the next few hours and I was told that was ok. Well Io and behold my vehicle is stuck on a lift that broke. But it was conveniently forgot about. For the final pay acted like they didn't have my vehicle for 6 hours and cost me overtime. Paid 120 for a subpar service and to essentially pay full price. Thanks read more

Terrible service. I just got done standing 45 mins in lobby while anyone that called with any request jumped ahead of me. Everyone with a grumpy look on their face. Sorry for inconveniencing trying to give them business. Go to the ankeny one instead. read more

I was not impressed with the knowledge of the assistant manager or the manager Steve. We were told Toyota says a range of tires fit this vehicle and that is not the case. That calls for one size. Sadly used other location and recommended them after dealing with Steve at this location I will not be using discount tire again. A tire person on 20 years should know more about tires. Becareful who you trust. There just out for the money. Big o and Firestone are right around the corner. read more

Bought a set of new tires from Austin here & also paid for the road size hazard, a few months later got a screw stuck in a tire, brought it back & Austin once again took care of me he went above and beyond got me a free replacement, quick fast and easy installed by Manny, very impressed with both of them! Highly recommend buying your tires from here & be sure to pay for the road side hazard too you never know when you might get a flat unexpectedly. Discount Tire - Tires Near Me - Altoona, Iowa

This place really takes care of their customers. I had a 12:30 appointment and was out of the store by 1:30. Four brand new tires for my daughters car. All the employees were busy working and still made time to ask if we had any questions. Thank you Discount tire, you have a permanent new customer. read more

We have been doing business with Big I Altoona for years and years. Today my husbands truck was losing pressure, the earliest he could get an appointment is Tuesday (today is Saturday). He went to Discount Tire just around the corner and they said they could get it taken care of by 12:30 today. They gave him a link to check the progress so we could just head back when it was done. As promised done by 12:30, charge was $.00 Just needed to be cleaned and resealed. Guess where we will be going for tires from now on. Amazing customer service!! read more

Highly recommend! Passing through and caught a piece of metal in my tire. They were able to get us in and fix my tire in under a hour. Excellent service! read more

Do not come here period. I paid 300$ for a new tire plus insurance on the tires and they guy working said "tires is what we do" and got home (in grinnell) went back out to my car an hour later and the brand new tire was flat. How are you going to have tire in your name and say that fixing tires is what you do but not fix a tire right? Pretty bad company if you ask me. Maybe be better and not suck at your job if you're gonna brag about being a tire place? Sad sad excuse for a tire place. I'd find a better career maybe be a politician they are good at lying. Sounds like a perfect fit for you guys. read more

I just purchased new tires for my 2012 CRV, next day the drivers front tire was flat, I was traveling that day. So out of town, I called and was asked to bring it in? It's flat, I just paid a good dollar for new tires and haven't had a flat in 25 years. Bryan was good enough to send someone out to repair it while I was out of town. Thank you, two weeks later the passenger front tire is flat? New tires??? I called, Steve asked me to bring it in so they could look at it. Service was good, quality of product not so good. Don't know the root cause other than shoddy work where tires did not get sealed good. If you don't mind driving back to where you bought new, this may be your place? Personally, I would rather go back to my old tires that never went flat . . Oh well, back in my schedule "take car to Discount tire for the repair." read more

my account was charged 6 times on five cards and I showed them bank statements and told them the point of sale(pos) was not accurate so the manager Colton sent my boss a link after numerous attempts and hrs wasted with a now broken lock nut because they over tightened they took the $$$ paid in full many times over tires off my truck &placed a warped almost blown tire back on my truck knowing it was a hazard to my family and everyone else on the road with us . I called customer service they were to call back and have yet reached out after 12k and no new tires I'm extremely disappointed and terrified that they make this a normal practice... I went down street and paid just fine .Discount lost a great customer! read more

Took in a trailer tire. When I pulled in the lot Kevin walked out to meet me & see what I needed. Took the tire & we walked in & got my info. Asked me if I wanted to wait or come back. I asked if he knew how long it would take. He said looks like we can take a look at it in about 10 min. I said I'll wait then. Needless to say I didn't have to wait long. They found a small hole & patched it for me FREE of charge. They then brought it out to me truck for me. All the guys I felt with were real nice & friendly. I will for sure be back to this location. Great work guys! read more

I can't say enough good things about this tire shop. We were on our way home from a trip to Colorado from Chicago and stopped in the town to rest. We ended up with a flat tire as soon as we parked our car. My Husband was struggling to put on a spare till a stranger stopped to help.Thank God for his kindness, he also told us to take our car to Discount tires to get fixed the next morning. We did and were greeted with more kindness and after looking at the tire they found the nail and patched it for free. They wouldn't even take any money from us. Thanks to them we were back on the road to Chicago within 1/2 hour and had no more problems. I am forever grateful to this store for being so honest and helpful. Thanks to the whole team. read more

Had an appointment for new tires, was told it would take an hour max for the service. Returned an hour later and service hadn't even started. When I inquired I was told they ran into a delay and they would get to mine next. They then rushed and ended up scraping my rim and cracked it in the machine- they didn't disclose this and my husband discovered it later that night. Called to inform them and was told they had never heard of that happening and to bring it in for them to look at it. Manager said plastic doesn't do that and took no responsibility for it- disagreed with my husband but said he'd send it in to corporate. I trysted my property to them for it to be returned in worse condition and that's the best customer service they can provide? Stand behind your service and do better! read more

It's been 11 months since I got my first 2 tires. I'm happy to say I went back a month later and replaced the other 2. My tires are amazing and have made it through almost 2 Iowa winters going strong! I love that Discount Tire does my tire rotations too. Their online schedule and email reminders make it so easy to keep up to date with something I would definitely overlook otherwise. Thanks again! read more

I took my F-350 in for a tire rotation and when I got it back one of the sensors wasn't working. I took it in to get it fixed on a Friday morning and was told they would fix it in the afternoon with no luck as I was told they were to busy to get it in. So I took it back a few days later and dropped it off and the called and said they couldn't fix it because the sensors they put in weren't reading. They proceeded to tell me to take it to a ford dealer to get it fixed. I asked if they were going to cover it and was told they wouldn't. So now I have to take it to ford and have to pay for something that got broke inside their shop. I just want to put this out there that the customer service at that location is horrible. read more

After having an awful experience with Big O Tires located next door, the employees/management of discount tires were very helpful and friendly. The manager went out of his way to replace a bad tire I had. Quick and courteous service. read more

Had an appointment scheduled when I came in for the appointment they stated they only had two of the four tires. They then called and got a eta of when the other two tires would be there and they stated that the other tires were in their distribution center in town and that they should be here by the end of the day. This is very frustrating since I had to drive 45 minutes to get new tires only to be told they didn't have them. read more

This was our first in store purchase. We have shopped with Discount Tire Direct online for years with great luck. We arrived 15 minutes before our scheduled appointment and they were quick to get everything started. They got all four tires mounted and balanced in a very timely manner. The tire selection is great and prices low! We will definitely be back. read more

The two guys that helped me were rude. They gave me the wrong information on wait time and then raised their voices to me with other customers in the store. Typical college flunk outs that can't deal in customer service well in a business that is all customer service. Same time and not deal with asses and go to Big O tires down the road read more

I walked in to the store knowing what I wanted to buy, I wasn't shopping price. The employee behind the desk was on the phone and said I would be helped in a few minutes. He called for help from the bay area. An employee walked in looked at me the phone rang and he answered. I spent my time and money to drive to their stores and got shuffled again to someone on the phone. I drove around the corner to Big O and ordered my tires that will be installed Wednesday. read more

Prepare to get blown away by friendly, outstanding customer service and quality work. I called them on Thursday, September 29th and discussed some tire options for my car with Kyle. In addition to the tires I inquired about, he made a couple suggestions and I agreed to stop in the next day to take a look. On Friday I pulled up, parked, and got out of the car. As I was walking out of the car Kyle and Joe came out and greeted me by name in the parking lot. That's right, no walking in the store and asking a surly clerk behind the counter for help. These guys do service right and are eager to help get exactly the right tires for your needs. Once I decided on which tire I wanted, I was also pleased to find out they had them in stock. My car takes a somewhat unusual size, and nobody else in Altoona had any tires at all in stock in that size. But Discount Tire did. To top it off, their prices were significantly lower than any other tire shops I contacted and their shop and showroom are spotless. They brought my car right in, and during the process I had several visits from the guys working on it keeping me up to date on how much longer it would take. Not just once, but several times. Add to that they have large windows overlooking the bays so I could see exactly what was going on. When my car was finished (it took less than an hour from start to finish) not only was I thanked by the guys up front, but the guys who did the work came up and thanked me. I've never, ever had that happen before. To sum it up, their prices are great, the place is spotlessly clean, their customer service is at an entirely different level than anyone, and I mean anyone else in the area. The quality of work was second to none, and I genuinely felt that my business was appreciated by everyone at Discount Tire. If you appreciate quality and customer service that stand head and shoulders above everyone else, make your choice Discount Tire. read more

Adam wanted to charge me more money than any other location.. $15 for a balance over their normal $10. Was quoted $78 for the service I wanted done. From a fairly new employee. I can understand the price being different. But from $78 to $250 and to be quoted triple the time other discount tires quoted me was ridiculous. I would not recommend the altoona location to anyone. Go to urbandale where the employees are personable and take care of their clients. read more

i can't say enough positive things about this store. after weeks and weeks of multiple frustrating tire searches, i finally found the tire that i wanted for my jeep. i called, set up my appointment, and was in and out in 30 minutes. these guys were so great about explaining details, and they made things as easy as they should have been from the start. they answered all my questions in a professional and courteous manner, and listened as i expressed my frustration with the multiple other companies i used to try to find the perfect tire. this is hands down the best tire shop i've been to, and their pricing is very reasonable. i absolutely will refer anyone that needs tires to them. read more

Hello I called several tire outlets and priced a set of 4 tires for our 2016 kia Sorrento.the salesman quoted me a price for 4tires and it was the most reasonable price.I thought great and told him I would like to come in the next day at 8:45am and have them installed. He said great we will see you then. We'll I showed up at 8:45am and went on I was greeted fine and then while I was told that they did not have the tires I was extremely mad ,they said they did have a more expensive tire (of course) so long story short I bought the more expensive tire and did get a 50 dollar rebate but I still paid more than I was expecting. By the way the rebate was a standard deal so I didi,t really get a deal. I can,t recommend them ,if I could have got the other tires for my price that would have made a difference.I really can,t recommend them.If you use them verify that the tires are on site. read more
