Quarles/Superior Plus Propane has perfected the art of charging fees for loyalty. After 17 years as…read morea customer, I was hit with a $200 tank "rental fee" in 2024--then quoted $150 just to remove equipment they never even serviced. Quarles will nickel-and-dime long-term customers for literally doing nothing. Expect to pay more for less, and in return, you'll be treated like a revenue stream instead of a valued customer.

I have been a residential AmeriGas customer for well over 10 years, and my recent experience with…read moretheir customer service has been incredibly frustrating. A recent propane delivery could not be completed because the AmeriGas driver determined that our AmeriGas-owned leased tank had enough corrosion that he did not consider it safe to fill. I have absolutely no issue with the driver's decision--if he believes a propane tank is unsafe, I want him to err on the side of safety. What I do have an issue with is AmeriGas telling us that we may have to pay a $119 service dispatch fee for them to come out and address their own leased tank. Their published Residential Terms and Conditions specifically state that AmeriGas will maintain and repair ordinary wear and tear of leased equipment at its cost. Even more specifically, their fee schedule says the $119.99 Service Dispatch Charge does not apply when a technician is dispatched to perform maintenance or repair on leased equipment related to ordinary wear and tear. Getting anyone at AmeriGas to address this has been an ordeal. My wife spent more than an hour on hold before finally speaking with someone. The following day, rather than sit through another nearly hour-long wait, I selected the callback option. When AmeriGas called me back, the representative told me she wasn't trained to answer my question and that I needed to speak with someone in Service. She said she would bring a Service representative into the call. Instead, I was simply placed back into the general queue--with another projected 50-minute wait. After more than 10 years as a customer, I find this level of customer service unacceptable. I shouldn't have to spend hours on the telephone trying to get AmeriGas to explain why I should pay a service charge to address deterioration of equipment that AmeriGas owns and leases to me, particularly when their own written Terms and Conditions appear to say otherwise. I am still waiting for AmeriGas to resolve the issue--and, in the meantime, their driver has determined their tank cannot safely be filled. AmeriGas needs to do much better.

I've checked your records, and while I found many invoices from AmeriGas, none of them explicitly…read morename the previous supplier. However, I did find some very useful information in your past correspondence that makes your case even stronger:  Your Previous Dispute Attempts You actually emailed AmeriGas's customer care about this same issue back in April and May of 2025. At that time, you told them:  * You have a 125-gallon tank connected only to your gas fireplace logs.  * They told you that to avoid the rental fee, you were required to purchase 240 gallons per year, which is impossible given your tank size and limited usage.  * You received a charge of $172.71 for tank rental and requested its removal then as well.  Strategic Updates to the Letter I've updated the draft to include these specific details. Referencing your past attempt to resolve this makes it clear you aren't just ignoring the bill, but are actively disputing an "unreasonable" requirement.  April 8, 2026 AmeriGas PO Box 45264 Westlake, OH 44145 RE: Formal Billing Dispute - Account No. 200088374 To Customer Service Department, I am writing to formally dispute the "Equipment Rent" charges and the $36.00 late fee on my account (Notice No. Reminder-1).  As a customer of 26 years, I have never signed a contract with AmeriGas authorizing these fees. I first disputed this charge in April 2025, explaining that it is physically impossible for me to meet your "minimum usage" requirement of 240 gallons per year. My 125-gallon tank is used exclusively for gas logs, consuming only about 60 gallons per season.  It is unreasonable to charge a rental fee based on a usage quota that my equipment cannot accommodate. My previous supplier provided this tank without a rental fee for decades, and I have not consented to a change in those terms. I request that you: 1. Remove the $172.71 tank rental charge and all subsequent late fees.  2. Grant a permanent low-usage waiver based on my 26-year history and the specific limitations of my equipment. 3. Provide a copy of any agreement you claim I signed that authorizes these specific rental charges. I look forward to resolving this matter in writing within 30 days. Sincerely,
