Will, the young man who stopped by, struck me as honest and conscientious. He clearly detailed my very old garage door's problems, pointing out, e.g., how the wheels that haul the door up and down were slightly tilted with respect to the runners after 40 years' use. He noted a couple of other problems stemming from the cheapness of the original hardware. He and his assistant, a boy, lubricated the assembly and made miscellaneous repairs, with the understanding that it may all eventually fail, at which point I may choose to buy a new door. The thing is so old that Will didn't have a remote-control device compatible with it, but said he'd be on the lookout for one and would contact me if he finds one. Meanwhile, although I can't command the door to rise and fall from my car, at least now the button near the side garage door does so correctly; and the door doesn't sound rickety as it moves. We had a unique project that required converting an old garage with a manual door, into a modern automatic roll up door w/opener. Trusses had to be modified for clearance, the opening had to be framed to accommodate the new hardware. Will made 3 trips to the house, on his own time, to verify we were heading in the right direction for the install. Didn't try to upsell me things I didn't need and went out of his way to make sure everything was working properly. So glad I called him...I thought I was going to need a complete door replacement and all I actually needed was new door hinges and realignment. He even installed the vinyl edging that was left behind by the construction guys that did the new siding and I had been waiting on them to return to complete that part. He did it at no extra cost. before I called discount garage, I called another company in Spokane to come out and look at the garage door that wasn't working. He looked it over and said my motor was shot and I needed a new motor at the price of $2500. I called discount garage and made an appointment with Will to come out and give me a second opinion he immediately found the problem which was my sensor not my motor reset it for me and The price was 0. Will and his Dad Rick replaced a couple of garage door openers and you could tell they've been doing this a long time. Turns out the business started in Portland and they moved up to Spokane. They gave me a good price and were done in a few hours with all the remotes programmed, doors adjusted and old openers removed. It's been 3 weeks since the job and everything is working great.
