They were prompt, efficient, and considerate of the work and I have great peace of mind at home after our generator was installed. ***update to previous review*** I unfortunately have to edit my prior review (as seen above) from five stars to one star. When we first contacted Lyle, there was some confusion around whether we needed a permit. Lyle said we could get one but we didn't need one and that he was going to install everything to code. Based on the reviews for Lyle, we figured he knew what he was talking about, so we hired him. We were really happy with everything up to that point. During the ice storm, our generator worked. It ran power and heat to the house during the outage. However, we had a different contractor come to the house and while he was around the side by the generator, he said he noticed the gas pipes that feed the generator were too small and not to code. He ran the calculations and confirmed that the gas pipes were undersized. My wife called Lyle to ask about this and he said he'd come by on Friday. She called him morning of to check on what time he'd be by and he said he'd actually be by Monday. She said not a problem. But, he then started asking why she was bringing up gas pipe sizes after our generator worked. She said because it wasn't installed according to code or the manual and we were concerned. Lyle became very upset. He kept asking her why she just wasn't saying "thank you" and saying that there isn't an issue with the gas pipe size because it worked. It was a brand new generator that was not installed according to its own installation manual or to codes, and we never agreed to that. Lyle tried to say I had agreed that it wouldn't be sized large enough to run our pool heater and that was why it was undersized. But 1. that's not true and 2. even when you only run the calculations for the generator, the gas pipe wasn't sized correctly. Lyle then said, "I'll just come rip everything out and give you a refund, how's that?" She said that was a bit drastic and we just wanted it installed according to the product manual, and he shouted back, "I WROTE THE MANUAL!" (He did not). He then offered to replace the 0.75" pipe to a 1" pipe, but we had been advised that the pipe size needed was at least 1.25". Lyle just laughed at her. Lyle then said something so disgusting that we knew we were done with him. Lyle did some work for my grandmother during the ice storm. My wife handles the billing for my grandmother for these types of things. She texted Lyle her email address, before he could even ask for it, so he could send her the invoice and she thanked Lyle profusely for his work and helping my grandmother get heat again. He has not yet sent her an invoice for those services. Lyle decided, while on the phone with my wife and talking about our generator, to say "now I see the kind of person you are and how ungrateful you are and since you are in charge of billing at the other house, you're probably not going to pay it so I'm going to have to put a lien on the house." Again, he hasn't even sent an invoice for his services, and he's threatening to put a lien on my grandmother's house because my wife correctly pointed out to Lyle that he didn't install our generator according to its installation manual or code. She, rightfully so, got very upset with him for even suggesting that, and quickly hung up after that. A few minutes later, Lyle called me to tell me my wife was being "mean" to him. I asked him what he thought he was going to accomplish by calling me after threatening to put a lien on my grandmother's home without having ever sent an invoice. He didn't have an answer. I hung up on him. Lyle never once actually said that the generator was installed according to the manual or to code. He just said it was "fine." We did not hire him to take shortcuts or make independent decisions about what was or was not acceptable for our generator and when we asked him about it, he got extremely defensive and aggressive. Beware.

When I told him it was bad business to not call me and let me know he wasn't coming, he said, well in today's day and age it's understandable when someone sick, and I said yes, but that's bad business that you didn't bother to even call me and tell me you weren't coming. I have things to do. Anyway, if they're this unreliable and do not care to call me and tell me they're not coming to the appointment was scheduled, there's no way I would spend five figures with this company to install a propane generator in my home. Unreliability doesn't get better with time.

Their call-screening software requires you to identify yourself before they answer. When I finally reached someone, they were short with me and sounded high. They told me they knew who I was and where I lived, and said they'd come the next day, but hung up without giving a time. I decided to hire someone else. When I called to cancel, they asked why, so I explained everything. The person then yelled at me for choosing another company and "wished me luck" with them. I wouldn't trust them to change a light bulb.

The employee was nice and knowledgeable, but unfortunately, he left a mess, scratched my wall and left finger prints on my wall and ceiling. He also put 3 extra holes in my wall, and of course, he had no puddy to fill them. He had no shop vacuum or broom. He does know his trade though. I did call his supervisor and sent him pictures, but his response was that he would talk to his employee, but could not do anything about the damage, which I was not happy. I payed them good money and got no help with these issues. Would I recommend Thompson Electric? Never.

MCH disrupted this peace of mind immediately by providing some of the worst service I've ever encountered. My A/C did not work the week I moved in. They ended up replacing the unit after it was apparent their technicians were incompetent and could not resolve the issue. Issues with the HVAC still persisted after. I liked them so much, I wanted to expand my quote to include some plumbing and electrical work. This is when things took a turn for the worse. I needed a quote to give to my title company so they could cut a check for closing. I called MCH EVERY DAY for almost two weeks. I spoke to the front office, I spoke to one of the owners. I sent them an inspection report so they didn't even need to go to the house site. I NEVER got a quote. I ended up going with GNC plumbing who quoted me TWICE as much as the original MCH quote but immediately got back to me and got the work done in a quick and timely fashion. I would not recommend this company, despite the fact that some of their employees are great. They had an opportunity to make a really nice amount of money off my closing costs/title company and missed out due to sheer unprofessionalism. They made getting work done on my new home extremely stressful.

Researching online, I found online that an alternate solution was to replace a circuit breaker with a GFCI breaker that feeds the whirlpool tub. Since I refuse to do most electrical work alone, I started asking for recommendations of electricians. One of them pointed to ElectriCare. Like any company I haven't used before (despite recommendations) I searched for them on the Internet. Several websites gave them a good rating so I called them. The owner of the company answered my call and I explained to him the situation and how I needed it to be done quickly. He scheduled me for that week and personally came to my home. Before he did any work, he looked around to be absolutely sure there was no GFCI receptacle (to save me time & money). He explained sometimes they are hidden in obscure places. We found that there wasn't one and then he went to work. Not only did he get it done within minutes, he tested it and showed me his work. He was very professional and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend ElectriCare!!

We were having issues with our hot water heater in the house we currently rent. The house is over 150 yrs old so it tends to be hard to get along with sometimes, and the new fancy high tech stuff does not make it happy. No one wants an unhappy house. After looking the unit over and discovering the beginnings of a leak as well, they determined that replacing the unit was going to be the best option especially since it was roughly 15 yrs old. They got the new unit and had it installed in just a few hours and it's been fine ever since. The price was very reasonable, hundreds less than what other companies were wanting to charge.
