I would highly recommend Edel Restorations and Designs for restorations and remodels, or both!…read more In dealing with our water claim, we had a really rough start with a different restoration company. After this negative experience, we set out to find a new contractor that could handle our restoration and our kitchen remodel. We interviewed a half dozen contractors, most of which didn't want to work within our budget or didn't work with insurance. Once we spoke with Michael from Edel, we knew we had found the right company. They were knowledgeable in working with insurance on the restoration side and got right to work to improve our living conditions, by getting our floors down in most of our home as we finalized the kitchen design and have cabinets built. Edel completed our kitchen/dining remodel, as well as laminate flooring, all new interior doors, and molding throughout our home. The kitchen/dining design made the absolute most of our space, giving us ample storage and flow to the kitchen/dining area. We got to visit Edel's comprehensive showroom on several occasions, which was very inspiring as we met with designers and were guided through making design decision. The cabinets are stunningly beautiful and function like a dream. We were always impressed by Michael and his team. We appreciated how respectful and clean they crew was each time they were out. They went out of their way to make sure that we were happy and informed through each phase of the project. The end result is absolutely gorgeous!

On July 10th, I called back and asked if he could come out that day. He said he couldn't. He then got irritated and told me I was calling on his cell number and to text him my name and number for him to call me back (go figure, it was the number listed on the website, you idiot, so of course I called it!). I waited. No call back. Wednesday (July 16) rolls around and I call a different number listed on a DIFFERENT website (same stupid company, though) and speak with a very nice man who tells me he would have Adam call me. I also ask him to please let Adam know that before he gets irritated that I called his cell phone, to check where it's listed. This was yesterday. It's past 9:30 PM, and still no call. I am going elsewhere. Adam, If this is how you treat customers that you are going to charge $1500.00-$1800.00 for a service, I am not sure how you stay in business. For that kind of money, I expect to be treated with respect.

Mitigation of a roof leak after rain/wind storm…read more I woke up the day before my flight to visit family for the holidays and found a puddle on my living room floor. It turned out to be a leak that soaked two walls, and I had to find help fast. Oregon Restoration replied to me immediately while other companies took hours to respond. Their friendly office staff calmly walked me through what to expect in the process and sent help that day. Danny arrived right on time and was friendly, professional, and thorough. He let me look at his instruments as he assessed the extent of the damage, shared pictures with me, explained what they would do and helped me understand next steps. After that as I was traveling, he kept in contact with me to make sure I knew what was happening at home. He also worked with my roommates to help them understand what was happening and arrange work visits. Every person on his team was respectful and helpful, and they checked the progress of the drying process regularly. Danny worked with my insurance adjuster to make sure everything went forward smoothly. I found the team helpful, responsive, and diligent, and I've contracted with Oregon Restoration for the repair portion of this journey as well. Thanks so much Danny! This would have been a nightmare without you.

The answers I always get is their waiting for inspections or inspectors or architects or permits to continue with any repairs. I do not mean to be derogatory in my comments but am being as truthful as I can be. I do not like doing surveys but when they concern me I will give my honest opinions of how I feel about the progress. Hopefully in the future I will be able to give this company a good review. I do not know why it takes so long to get permits from city or some kind of progress , Alot of the delays seem to be on government holding up permits and inspections from my conversations with (no name) adjusters and services. McGinnis Restoration and Construction were contracted to repair and restore an upstairs bathroom…read morethat had leaked into the downstairs bathroom causing damage in both. The drywall repair was horrible and did not match the rest of the room. The painters did not do a good job of matching the paint color nor the level of gloss. They came out a second time and did an even worse job of painting, not to mention that they painted halfway up other walls that were not damaged, and even into another room that was not involved. They got paint on the floors, the commodes, and light switches. I took photos and sent them to the project manager and he said he would send them out again, he even came by to look at it. The painters were "sick" the next time they were scheduled to come out, and when I reached out again, I was told they were way behind. They never returned. Additionally, we had another leak from the bathroom upstairs down the wall of the downstairs bathroom. Again, I took photos and sent them to the project manager. The plumber came by and cut a hole in the drywall and could not find a cause for the leak other than the fact that when the new tub was put in place, they did not put down any sort of sealant where the base of the tub should meet the floor. I contacted the project manager again. Our home was left in worse shape than the original leak.

May of 2018 we had a flood due in our utility room due to a water heater leak. WVR came in and…read moreseemed to know exactly what they were doing. They had the room in plastic, dryers, and brought in the people to do the work to put the room back together which included replacing dry wall, flooring, cabinets, etc. For weeks the work did not begin and and repeated attempts to contact them resulted in, 'Mike's not in, he'll call you back'. Calls were consistently unreturned. In one successful contact with Mike, who was the project manager, he told us that the flooring had not come in and that's why they hadn't started the job. We called the flooring company and they said that he had not ordered it. From the time that work did begin, it was a nightmare.Mike provided no plans to us or his workers, he mismeasured so that the work they began was not possible to complete (this was caught by a worker who, within a day was let go for some reason- he was a skilled worker) He and another man had to come over and restructure the plan. The workers did good work at first, but Mike was never available and so the work would get held up. When they installed the water heater they did not fill the tank before starting it up so it burned out the element. The work was not completed until Nove 5th, no plans or itemized list was ever provided. We had to get the itemized list of work from the insurance adjustor. The bill was paid by insurance and extra work contracted for the job was paid by us in full. Just last month, we discovered a leak again. Our water heater closet was swollen shut and the replaced drywall work inside the house adjacent to the closet was cracked (18", 7" long, 1/4" wide), in the seams. WVR claimed that the cracks were the result of "the house settling" and they claimed no responsibility for their workers' installation of the water heater. When we contacted our insurance company as when we could expect the work to begin (WVR would not return our calls), our insurance adjuster reported that Mike had told him, "Why should I do the work when they still haven't paid me?" This, of course, was a shock, and threatened our reputation and credibility with our insurance company. Mike had claimed WVR they had widened our doors and completed other work for which they were not paid. This is patently false- no such work was ever done. WVR front office confirms that all bills to us have been paid in full. Mike slandered us to our insurance company. I do not know what struggles WVR are having as a company or if this is just their business model, but we still have black mold in our house and are trying to get a resolution for the condition Willamette Valley Restoration has left our home. We can't get back the time, stress and frustration of having dealt with such an unprofessional, shoddy company over the past 10 months.

I called WVR immediately and they were able to send out someone right away. They coordinated with my insurance so I didn't have to think about any of it. They had great people who redid our original soft wood fir floors and restored them to like new. And, most importantly, they had the right equipment to dry out my documents so they were still usable. Out of 30 boxes worth of papers, only 1 and a half were not back to "usable" condition. The second time I used them, I had a leaky pipe around my shower that I didn't know was leaking inside the wall until I noticed a huge wet area on the ceiling in our dining room below. Again, they came over immediately and got started. With the sensors they had, they were able to tell where the water started and stopped in the ceiling and only cut out what they needed to. For about a week, it looked like the movie ET in our house with plastic wrap everywhere to cordon off the parts where they were working! We were still able to use all the other areas and they did not interfere with our daily lives. When they restored the ceiling, they matched our heavy plaster "design" in the ceiling to the point that you cannot tell what is old and what is new. I've been impressed both times we've used them. Easy to work with, fast and efficient, and all the special equipment to get the job done.
