So a few questions arise? How much money annually are they getting? Where is all that money going? They are very respectful and understand the trials of a military veteran in regards to the time consuming process of applying for Veterans Affairs (VA) resources and services. I was able to get some emergency food, clean clothes, socks, hygiene products as well as opportunity to work gigs to make money through Veterans Rebuilding Life (VRL) non-profit's huge list of supporters. I feel blessed to have stumbled on this non-profit that really does what they say to change the narrative of how veterans are being treated in this country. I was there for a Meet and Greet" Cinco Del Mayo night to consider becoming a member. The members were friendly. However, there was no restaurant on the premises. They do cater some of their events up to about 42 people. I was told you can bring your own food in if you desire to. Also, they had a beautiful bar but no liquor license or bartender. The policy was bring your own bottle and use the glassware provided and be responsible for washing whatever used which I feel creates unsanitary conditions in this day and age of viruses going around. Also, there was no check room and attendant to secure your coat (in cool and inclement weather) or valuables. There wasn't any staff present only the members. If accepted as a member after filing an application and going through a formal interview your spouse wasn't able to use your benefits. He or she would be treated as an ordinary guest. The dues are reasonable and there is an initiation fee. There were only a few young members there and mostly single senior citizens filled the rooms. I did not see any couples present. 2 small phone booths were provided to use your phone so the other members would not be disturbed. There is a small area with a beautiful pool table there for members to shoot. There is no receptionist or security upon entrance. A member would have a fob or phone app to gain entrance into the building and take the elevator to the third floor. There are weekly events scheduled, free and paid. I went for the membership interview and was denied membership. Maybe it was because I spoke my mind and asked some concerning questions since I have been a member of 2 other social clubs that offered much more to their members and their partners.

I heard good things about zogsports but was pretty disappointed with my Sunday kickball league in…read moreCentral Park. The first part i was disappointed was the lack of communication. We were supposed to start the game on Sunday and we didn't receive a confirmation email about our roster and start times until Thursday night around 8 pm. In addition , the league did a terrible job of balancing the rosters. There were 3 teams in our coed league and one other team consisted of free agents. We had 4 girls on our team and the other team had 8 girls on theirs. Usually this is fine but league rules has it that you need at least 3 girls to play on defense and a girl has to kick once every 4 turns. Also one of our games the ref was late over an hour. Finally , they schedule double headers so the games run late. We had to call two of our games since they were running late. One we couldn't see anything in the pitch dark so we called it for a safety issue. The other game we had to end our playoff game early. We had a chance to kick since we were bottom of the inning but zogsports referee said since the Game was running late whoever scores first wins the game. Felt like we got cheated. It doesn't help that they take 30 minutes plus to explain the rules each game. They also have happy hour deals after the game but the bars are so far away it's not feasible.
