Made to wear face masks for eye test which is fine, optician didn't seem very helpful when placing test glasses over face she wasn't very personable as other opticians make sure glasses are behind ears properly etc. First lot of tests were with another person who was very friendly and helpful. Found the selection of glasses poor and unlike other opticians when you try on glasses they clean them right away. I didn't like trying on glasses with smudges and labels over the lenses. I will have an eye test elsewhere hopefully another place will be more modern with how they do the tests, find the test glasses bulky and old fashioned.

I have spent there quite a lot of time, but I have proper and profesional sight check. After 'session' with the nurse, I had a talk with optician. Becuase I am in the Boots Health Club, it was absolutely free (usually, the check costs £20). Very professional and friendly service. Highly recommended!!!

I do think the store was overstaffed, the staff working did seem a little loud and they were obviously talking to each other, I get having a conversation is fine when the stores quiet but they just became rather loud and even began to distract the lady working on my glasses, meaning I was worried she could have made a mistake or it could have ended up taking longer than it should have: she didn't make a mistake however and the staff were professional and able to answer whatever questions I had, so the service was okay. The selection was okay, they didn't have the more premium ranges which many other stores have but they did have a satisfactory selection from designer brands, I was told they didn't stock TAG Heuer anymore due to licensing issues which is why the person who was helping me didn't want to adjust my glasses too much as she couldn't replace them anymore if they did break. The TAG Heuer is only available in certain Vision Express stores now due to the strange recall. Pretty average store, I would feel happy using them while in Derby although Vision Express do have many better branches, this remains one of the better opticians within the mall and city of Derby. 3*

If you need glasses urgently, they also offer you the glasses on the same day at an additional cost. The range of frames are impressive and are split into sections by design and price to help you find your perfect style and price. Eye tests don't take long and staff are always thorough and helpful. I've never had a problem and would gladly return when I need an eyetest again. The only thing that may deter you is that the shop is very bright!

I have had contact lenses from them for a good few years now, and I think the package is really good value as the lenses and solutions are delivered to your door every few months, and all aftercare, lens checks and eye tests are included. On the downside, I have had a few problems with their direct debits system, which took several weeks to sort out. And it can be difficult to get an appointment at the weekend as the store gets very busy.

I was literally in the shop for less than a minute as I was told that I was partially sighted and that they don't dispense glasses for prescriptions like mine. Not very kind or compassionate to be honest and I was left feeling pretty upset. The shop also had a very strange smell of vomit so in a way having to leave was a blessing! I'm sure their glasses are lovely but in my case the customer service was very disappointing.
