I've always struggled with finding glasses to suit my high myopic prescription, so the good reviews and encouraging website (mentioning a good choice for high prescriptions) meant that I booked a consultation. I was literally in the shop for less than a minute as I was told that I was partially sighted and that they don't dispense glasses for prescriptions like mine. Not very kind or compassionate to be honest and I was left feeling pretty upset. The shop also had a very strange smell of vomit so in a way having to leave was a blessing! Brilliant choice of glasses and reasonable pricing, did my glasses while I waited at a lower cost and most places I tried wanted more money for the same thing. The staff are professional and polite and they even offered me and my partner a cup of tea which we have never had anywhere else. It's obviously a opticians that takes pride and they know what they are talking about. 100% satisfied customer. Please show this opinion because they deserve it. read more

I went here for my glasses I had a consultation which I booked on the phone, the shop had lots of choice, I picked police glasses for best and raybans for my sunglasses. They gave me good advice about my vairfocials and coatings for the computer. I cant wait to get them thanks guys read more

My wife and myself had a really disappointing and upsetting experience recently, after being good customers of this company, located at 135, Bath Street, Ilkeston, for several years. We purchased 2 pairs of new spectacles for £185 (not cheap) in July and in October my wife's pair broke. I managed to effect a temporary repair to these but we took them back to the shop only to receive what we can only describe as shocking treatment. My wife took the glasses back into the shop and showed them to Juliette, the Assistant, who immediately stated that 'they are ok and we wouldn't want to get any further involved'. My wife returned to the car to say she felt she had been 'fobbed off' which I felt was really annoying. I went into the store myself and confronted Juliette, who was extremely aggressive and nasty and reiterated that the were not prepared to look at the glasses further. I demanded to see Sean, the proprietor, who I have known for many years. But was told that I wasn't welcome to wait for him in the shop. He returned within 5 minutes and looked at the glasses and mended them with black screws (the glasses are turquoise) but after much whispering with Juliette in the back of the shop came out and began to conduct a sort of 'Kangaroo Court' investigation into what had happened earlier and I walked out telling them both they had lost 2 very good customers. I have been shocked and extremely hurt by the way I have been treated and would never return or recommend this shop after previously being a very loyal customer. Avoid this company at all costs and get your glasses done by professionals - who care about after sales service and providing care when a product has been purchased.
