Saved me a lot of money having someone else look at it. Had them out one more time and was charged an exorbitant amount for what amount to 15 minutes of work. Upon inspection in the attic is was not cleaned up as they said it would be. In summary, nice people, check their work, if something seems more expensive than it should be, get a second opinion. Be suspicious of "problems" that need to be addressed.

He gave me several options, including temporary solutions to possibly stretch out replacement, and also a quote for replacing the unit with new. He was very professional and clear as he outlined options and explained the efficiency differences between new systems today and my 14 year old unit. I hired Just-in-Time Heating and Air to replace my system, and they did it very quickly, and to the highest degree of quality in workmanship I have seen. They even raised the new unit up off of the ground under the house to reduce moisture intrusion, which had accelerated rust and corrosion in my old unit's coil and electrical components. DO. NOT. USE. Chaffee!! If they mess something while performing service, they will act like it was…read morenot their fault and just charge the customer to have it fixed!! They came out to the house on a Friday to clean the blower wheel and condensing coils, and I will add for free because previous techs had not been doing it correctly, is what they said. It really impressed me that they would do something like that. After the service was complete on Friday, the blower turned on, but shortly after, the unit completely stopped working, and the thermostat was completely turned off with a blank screen. Upon further investigation, they had not wired the transformer back up correctly and ended up ruining it. In the photos, the red wire was not supposed to be connected to the other red wire. Once, I called and went by the office to confront them about THEIR mistake!! Michael told me it WASN'T their fault and that parts just go bad and it would cost $230-330 dollars to fix. He claimed that if they felt it was their mistake, they would resolve the issue for free, but even with photo evidence, they were still denying THEIR mistake! I ended up buying a transformer for about $15 and wiring it up CORRECTLY, and the unit turned right on. I would watch out for this company; they will try to take advantage of you and be dishonest, even if all the evidence points to them being in the wrong.
