I ordered a Pro Ject Limited Edition George Harrison Turntable and it arrived safe and sound and came well packaged. My purchase took a few extra days to arrive I'm assuming because I ordered it on a Saturday. I did send an email to Lisa and she informed me the turntable was scheduled to ship. Two days later I was then provided with a shipment tracking number which was helpful to ensure I would be home to receive the package. As an audiophile I order a great deal of audio equipment and records from various online electronic and vinyl record dealers. For the most part I've been fortunate not to have had too many negative experiences. I came across Direct Audio due to the fact I was having trouble locating an item and Direct Audio appeared was the only one who had it in stock, or claimed they had in stock. Three days after ordering the item I tried to reach them by phone and email without success. It was only then that I research the company and realized I had made a mistake. I've never seen so many complaints for an online audio dealer. After some thought I canceled the order and asked for a refund but got little or no confirmation. It was only after I contacted my credit card company that the cancellation and refund was immediately processed. My suggestion. Avoid this business like the plague. read more

Buyers BEWARE! I like many others I wish I had read up on Direct Audio before (attempting) a purchase. I say attempt because it didn't go any further than Direct Audio keeping some of my money in limbo for over a month. My order was seemingly never in stock, i never received an email passed confirmation of my order. I waited 15 days and then contacted the seller. To their credit i got an email back, but then all credit ends there as i received no other contact for another 15 days until today when i was told my order could not be fulfilled and i would instead be refunded. Funny enough if Allen had simply said something back 15 days prior, anything, I would not have bothered to write this. I wouldn't have read about all the other (Much Worse!) experiences others have had, nothing. I may have made a different purchase on your site. Instead my time was wasted, and i felt frustrated to the point that I signed up for Yelp just to get the word out and share my experience. If you had a good experience, if Lisa and Allan called and made some small talk with you about what is going on, that's great! But a majority of the buyers do not experience this from the looks of it, and have even been berated. I'm fine if it wasn't really in stock though that is a bit shady, even if you're confident you'll get it in a reasonable amount of time. But no response, no further response, no asking if i want to wait, just send me a refund? I wasted a month looking around outside to make sure it hadn't shown up, and not buying an mp3 version of the album since it will (eventually) be on the way. Faith here was not be rewarded. Everything was done in a timely manner and received by USPS a few days later very well packed, tracking numbers sent. Unfortunately 2 records were not found in their warehouse from my order and Lisa notified me before shipping and of course never charged my cc... Appreciate Excellent Customer Service and Honesty before shipping, (even grocery stores having trouble keeping staple items in stock lately), not to be disappointed... With covid-19 I have noticed with many stores on-line inventories are low and items go fast, impossible to keep current web sites fully up to date. I would definitely not recommend this place. I bought a limited pressing that they showed as in stock, sent an email 8 days later after I received no updates, then sent an email 8 days after that when i still had no response. I eventually called (EDIT: shortly after i sent the last email when i decided to search for reviews online). The guy who runs this place is a total bullsh*tter and will string you along with "oh yeah we're supposed to be getting them in soon, sometime in february" on limited edition pressings that he oversold. He'll make some salesman speech about how "oh wow this new album just really flew off the shelves". I let him get that one over on me because I kinda want the record, and my guard was down because its been a minute (thanks covid) since I've dealt with someone like this. Mulled it over until the following day and when I went to cancel, he was like "oh are you sure? We're definitely getting them in tomorrow". Mmk, great, what is it now feb or tomrrow? For a sold out limited pressing? Unlikely. Lemme get this right: So you "oversold" on a limited edition record? on your ecommerce website? That should just mark "out of stock" when you're out of stock? If anything, don't buy from this place solely because the website is garbage. They will HAPPILY take your money on things that are out of stock and then make no attempt to notify you or refund the purchase that they cannot fulfill. Any ecommerce site that doesn't have automatic inventory management; which requires someone to manually mark something "out of stock"; which doesn't even prevent you from buying things that are out of stock because that marker doesn't disable the add to cart button; should be red flagged and avoided at all costs in my (professional) opinion. Anyway, the guy i talked to ran the refund, so if it posts, I'll hold back on calling this "fraud" although its skirting a fine line. Regardless, don't be like me: Do your research and don't buy from this place in the first place. And keep your guard up for salesman bs. also, this friggin guy couldn't understand me when i said "order" three times in a row and when he finally got it, made a poor imitation of my accent, and chuckled as he processed my request. I called TWO times trying to get ahold of someone and they answered very rudely the second call and began to try to reprimand me for calling????? They never answered me about my order so due to their unprofessionalism, I informed them I would just leave a review and hung up. Being that it is a limited edition vinyl, I would suspect that the owners would understand why I would be on top of tracking the order. Can you give a company zero stars??? Was called and harassed because direct audio sucks at customer service. I ordered a vinyl on December 4th. Was shown at checkout the vinyl would be here in ample time for Christmas. Once I didn't receive any shipping information for 2 weeks I emailed to ask for an update. I NEVER received a response! I disputed the charged with my credit card company and got my full refund. The next day I received a shipping notification. Ironic? Today on December 24th I receive a call from someone at direct audio who is angry that I disputed the charge. When asked about the response to my email he replied I'm getting 500 emails a day and can't handle them you should of called me. Furthermore he was angry that his mistake cost him $75 for me disputing the credit card charge. As a business owner it isn't the customers job to follow up and make sure you pull your weight 18 days after the order is placed. It's 2020 read a quality book on fulfillment and step your game up. I placed an order for 5 different KISS titles for a total of 11 LPs. All of the titles were showing in stock. My payment went through and I thought all was good. I got an email later that day from Allen Fox stating the following. "These titles from Universal can take up to a year to get or more and some will have to be repressed. I have some customers still waiting on them for months. But you ordered several so it seems you need them for resale. So, I will refund the order and cancel it.". I then got a refund for my order. These records were not for resale, and I attempted to call the number on the website to explain my situation. All I got was a cell phone voicemail. I then emailed the person that sent me the rejection stating that the order was for my personal collection and for a friend. I have not heard back. So I guess there is an unpublished limit on the quantity that you can order. It is unfortunate that this did not work out. I still need to find the titles for my collection.
