Two guys Tim and…read moreAlex were very kind and took the time to explain how bigger calibers will make the gun more 'snappy' for me and I should stick to a smaller caliber like 380 or 9mm to get comfortable first. I am very petite. They even told me I should go to the range first to rent and practice different calibers to be sure before buying. They were willing to to postpone or even lose the sale for my welfare. I was so impressed. I bought a great little Sig Sauer P365. I love shooting it and hope to be back soon to buy something bigger for home protection.

He was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and took the time to give us background on the different firearms we selected, including how they're used and what made each one unique. We were a group of two and felt like we had a really good amount of time back there shooting. Mateo made the experience even better by taking pictures of us afterward and helping us download our videos, which was such a nice touch! I've been to other shooting ranges in Miami a few times (I'm from NYC and visit Miami 2-3 times a year), and this experience was so much better than the traditional experience of simply checking out guns and shooting at a range. The machine-gun options are way cooler and made the whole experience feel much more exciting and memorable. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would absolutely recommend Lock & Loaded Miami. Thank you, Mateo, and thank you Lock & Loaded for such a great experience!

I've been a member of the Homestead Training Center for over three years, paying the $150 veteran…read morerate. I joined mainly to use the 500-yard range, but too often it's closed when I have time to shoot. Today, I drove there (half an hour drive from Miami) and was told that my membership had expired on September 1st. I had no reminder, no text or email. I was also informed that the veteran membership has increased from 150 to 200 a year. What frustrated me most was the lack of customer service effort. Considering I've been a member for over two years, and my membership had only recently expired and I had already driven all the way there, I would have expected something like, "Since you're already here, let me check with the manager and see if we can allow you to shoot today." But before you came back, you'll need to renew your membership. Even if the employee didn't have the authority herself, simply asking a manager would have shown some effort to accommodate and retain a long time customer. HTC also offers non-member public range option, but that wasn't mentioned either. Granted, that wouldn't give me access to the members only 500-yard range, but at least offering alternatives would have demonstrated some customer service. Between the unreliable availability of the 500-yard range, the $50 membership increase, no renewal notification, and the lack of any attempt to find a reasonable solution when I arrived, the membership is simply no longer worth it for me. If you're considering joining primarily for the 500-yard range, I'd recommend checking its availability very carefully before paying for a membership.

However, when I asked whether another time slot was available, an employee with a beard and glasses told me that, because of my attitude, he would not offer me one. I found that response unprofessional. Afterward, I spent about 10 minutes looking at the firearms for sale, but no one approached me or offered to help. I was interested in guying one of them, but I eventually left because I could not get assistance. I came in intending to use the range and potentially make a purchase. The way I was treated left me disappointed with the customer service. There are plenty of shooting ranges in Miami where customers are treated with respect. After this experience, I have no desire to return to this one.
