Few months ago, I spoke to the owner of German Classic Auto and discussed the condition of my 1979…read moreMercedes 300TD wagon. You can tell that Christian, the owner, was well versed in these older MB classic cars. Mainly, the car had the typical sagging rear end issue due to the Self Leveling Suspension (SLS) system, and I wanted Christian to look over the car and give me an overall assessment. To be perfectly honest, the car is in well preserved, driving condition with only about 130K miles on it. Things started off well with small repairs: battery, alternator, steering rod, bushings here and there. Christian would text me photos of repairs performed and told me AFTERWARD the price. Also, he accepts CASH-ONLY, and does not provide you with a receipt of the work. He later told me that he doesn't have a business license in the city of Cumming!!! Wow.. I was a bit leary of the situation, but he did small repairs and I was content. I stopped by the shop several more times asking about the diagnosis of the SLS issue and the valve adjustment that he said that the car needs. I asked "how much"? I didn't get an exact answer, just a "will let you know when I get to it". Few more weeks passed and he started to work on my doors!!! Yes, my doors. My doors opened and closed just fine. He said that the stoppers are bad and needed 4 new ones. Again, I asked "How much?" I didn't hear back for 2 more weeks then I received a txt message saying that I owed him $1,700 for the door repairs!! Wow... At this point, I told him to stop ALL work on the car and that I will be coming by to pick up my car. Once I got to the shop, I told him that I never authorized $1,700 worth of work for my doors (that worked fine). Christian started to get angry and just rambled on with his German accent. He told me that I owe $1,700 and that I can take him to court and sue him in court!!! By this point, the situation escalated and I simply wanted to get my car and leave. We came to an agreement on paying less than $1,700 for work that was unauthorized. I hope you will read my review before taking your car into German Classic Cars. I can respect Christian for his knowledge of old MB cars and his mechanic abilities, there is no way in hell he's getting another cent from me.

These guys installed a stereo for me into my car and also some speakers…read more The stereo was installed incorrectly and they also couldn't connect the adapter to the steering wheel control. They said they tried and tried and called the manufacturer but they couldn't make it work. A couple of months later I took my car to another car stereo shop and they just laughed at the previous installation and fixed everything in 10 minutes. The tech said that the other shop just didn't know what they were doing. Also, the way they installed the new speakers, when my windows rolled down they were hitting the speakers. On one door the window had actually chopped the speaker wire so that speaker wasn't even working! These guys were nice but they didn't know what they were doing and I had to spend extra money to fix their mistakes.

They are very competitively priced and take a lot of pride in the work they do - they do the job right. After the speakers were installed I did have a little bit of trouble with the two front speakers working intermittently, but when I told them about it they got it turned around very quickly; turned out it was a cable that had come a little loose. I'm very happy with the service I got and the people who work here. They are very passionate about what they do and treat everyone they meet very well. Definitely the people to see if you need any detail or audio work done. Very highly recommended.
