I decided to check this place out between meetings one afternoon during the work 2 weeks ago. I had come here a decade ago and bought my first wedding dress from here and recalled it being a decent enough experience. I figured I could look around if no one was able to wait on me and help me try anything on. I browsed through the dresses on the first floor and didn't see anything lightweight for a warm destination wedding. The older woman with short brown hair helped me and put a dress into a room for me. She apologized for not being able to dedicate all of her attention to me and handed me off to a younger woman, Lena, whom I realized I had spoken to on the phone with. She seemed put off and agitated having to abruptly stop whatever she was doing to help me suddenly. The younger woman took me upstairs and put dresses into a fitting room upstairs and I told her I had my coat and things in the room downstairs. She said they are fine and didn't suggest I get them or grabbing them herself and only got them when she had to grab the one dress in the downstairs room with my coat so could try them on. The woman asked me when I was getting married and I told her next month, she told me I would not have enough time to order a dress at all and would have to buy something off the rack. She asked very accusatory why I had waited so long and I told her I had only gotten engaged 4 days ago. She asked if either my fiancé or I had kids, I said he had a son. She asked if I got along with the son and I said we do, she said that's good. She asked if we want kids and I said we do. She made me feel like she was grilling me out of anger or bitterness or some reason or rational for our rushed wedding. She complained that my hair kept getting in her way to help me get the dresses on. I felt as if this woman with the long brown hair and purple sweater and tall boots was just bitter and angry that she wasn't the one getting married at all and had to help women that are loved and wanted by someone. She said she had only been with Dior a few months and I thought to myself that I don't see her being there another month or more since she's such an insecure and unpleasant employee and person. The last visit with this harsh and mean young woman left a rather bad taste in my mouth and I left and decided I had to find a dress elsewhere and would under no circumstances give this woman or Dior my money at all. Dress shopping and wedding prep should not make you feel like a jerk for wanting to get married sooner and sorry for angry people for not having someone that loves them at all. She needs to be mentored and coached and admonished on what it takes to be a good customer service rep or advocate, she's clearly deficient in people skills. read more

i bought a MOB dress. it arrived in the size they ordered and was very big on me. Dior said it was not mis-sized and did not offer to contact the dress manufacturer. It was altered and the back of the dress did not lay flat as it was supposed to. I was told nothing could be done to fix it. I've been to several bridal salons and Dior has been the best experience with an amazing selection of wedding dresses. They also carry bridesmaids dresses, and mother of the groom or bride dresses. What makes this salon great is the wonderful experience they make dress shopping. You will need to make an appointment, and you will receive a dedicated bridal consultant to pull dresses and help you dress in a private room. There is a special area for your bridal entourage to view you in a large area with three mirrors and a standing platform. The quality of the dresses are amazing, with several designers to choose from. They can be a little pricey, so if you're looking for a $500 bargain deal this isn't the place to shop. I got my wedding dress altered here and it fell apart. The shoulders straps had to be taken in but there are beads across the straps so I brought the dress to what I thought was a professional because it would have to be re-beaded. It looked fine but a couple weeks later I went to try it on and the beads had all fallen out. The beads were never secured, the seamstress just cut the straps and left the beads and strings hanging. This wasn't a simple mistake because the other strap was falling apart too. I had to spend 5 hours searching for all the beads that fell and re-bead it myself. It doesn't look as nice as it's supposed to but there's no way I'm letting them touch my dress again. I went back and talked to the owner and she shrugged her shoulders and didn't seem phased by it. She refunded me the money for the alteration but offered no other compensation for my now ruined $2000 dress and the hours I spent fixing it and stressing out. It could have easily fallen apart on my wedding day. If you want a professional go somewhere else. read more

So to start with, I was a bit picky when picking out my wedding dress. I took a couple months and over 10 stores to find the perfect dress at the perfect price. I was looking for a dress that was off white, like not white at all and I also wanted it to be covered in ivory lace. Once in Dior Bridal we started coming the shelves, the sales attendant was helpfully pulling dresses that semi matched my description. While going through the racks, I pulled out my dress and I pretty much knew that I had found the dress. I tried it on, loved it, and finally said yes to the dress. The sales attendants were very patient with me while I tried dresses and made my final decision. There was quite a large dress selection there, price tags seemed to range from $800 to around $2000. There were some more expensive dresses, but I didn't pay much attention to them because there were well out of my price range. I also had my bridesmaids purchase there dresses there as well. They didn't have a large selection of bridesmaids dresses, but they did have the perfect little black lace dresses to match my dress and I fell in love with them. I also had alterations done to my dress and the seamstress did a fantastic job. She was very pleasant to work with and completed the alterations that I needed good. I couldn't even tell the dress had been touched. Alterations were a bit pricey, I was ok with the price since my dress had so many layers, but my bridesmaid decided to have her dress altered elsewhere. They did have mother of the bride dresses and flower girl dresses, but I didn't pay much attention to them so I cant be of much help there. I did think the jewelry was a bit pricey but I already had my headpiece and jewelry, so I didn't look into that section as well. Overall, I think that I got a great price on my dress and I loved it. Nice and quiet, very well organized. Lots of light and open space. A good selection of bridal gowns but not so many bridesmaid dresses. About 10 cute flower girl dresses displayed together. Also has veils, tiaras and some jewelry. The staff was friendly but not overly pushy; the young woman who was working the day I was there came in to the dressing room to look at each dress and help me clip it, but left after a couple minutes to let me talk it over with my mom. I felt very comfortable at Dior. I'm not sure about their service after I decide to buy the dress (I am still looking) but I would assume a continuation in the trend of fine service. read more

As soon as the consultant heard my price range she instantly made me feel cheap. Instead of bringing me discount dresses to try (all gowns there are above $1500 by the way) she marched myself, mom and sister up to the pathetic clearance rack. Dior is a well-known local bridal salon in the Dearborn area. I've shopped here on several occassions for prom dresses, a bridesmaid's dress and most recently for a friend's wedding gown. If you are just browsing catalogs or looking into styles available for prom or bridesmaid dress ideas, there are some sample dresses in stock to try on. However, most dresses have to be specially ordered. For brides, I recommend setting up an appointment before coming in. This will cut down on the time you have to wait for an available associate. An associate will then help find dresses in the styles that you like, help get you into and out of the dresses that have lace-up corsets and will keep track of the dresses you decide to put into the "maybe" pile. Some of the collections of bridal gowns carried by Dior include Allure, Alma Novia, Casablanca, Jasmine Bridal, Maggie Sottero, Mori Lee and Pronovias. The store also carries dresses for flower girls, mothers of the brides, engagement parties and other formal events. Plus, the shop also has shoes and accessories. Alterations can also be done there at the bridal salon. Try to visit on a weekday, if you can. The shop can get very busy on Saturdays, and it is closed on Sundays like many other bridal salons in the area. read more

Wish I could leave zero stars. To begin, $170 for alterations for a bridesmaid gown is ridiculous. Today I came in for a second fitting, and the dress wouldnt zip up when it was on me. Rather than doing the obvious: apologizing and remedying the situation, the seamstress and assistant were completely rude about it!!! For an hour, there was a back and forth while they attempted to fix the issue. Rather than the seamstress coming in, seeing the dress on me and understanding the issue firsthand, the assistant kept asking for the dress (4 times she made fixes abd it still wouldnt zip) leaving me in my underwear (no robe??!). Finally when she did come in, The seamstress, Mary, had the nerve to tell me she shouldnt have taken my dress to work on anyway as they were so busy...and tried to tell me I hadn't been on the books (uh...I totally was) ! The catcher? Each time we had the dress on me...my girlfriends and I noticed a different stain! 7 separate oil stains right on the front and sides...and a snag in the chiffon!! Clearly I'd brought it there unworn, brand new!! When they finally got the dress to zip, it still looked like crap as the "hidden" zipper is now unhidden. When I pointed out the stains....they at first claimed not to see them?!?! Hello.... they were obvious. Then, they didnt acknowledge or aplogize...but were complerltely snippy and rude. An attitude of..."well WE didnt do anything..." What do you mean?! How else did it magically happen? The evil oil stain fairy?! Clearly they must have been eating or not washing hands while touching the dress. After over an hour with these rude associates, I was livid. I'm so glad I didn't choose this salon for my own upcoming big day. The manager downstairs did apologize and promised to clean the dress herself on Tuesday but no refund offered. Do yourself a favor and STAY FAR AWAY! Let's hope its immaculate when I come back a third time. EDIT: after a month of trying to track down the owner, she told me "my best bet is small claims court" and denied all responsibility. read more

I really wanted to give Dior a 5/5 because I ordered the most beautiful gown...a really good find, but I have to tell you..on 3 different occassions employees have been abrasive and not at all helpful. I asked a few extra questions about my first fitting (obviously I have never done this before, so I wanted to be prepared) and the lady on the phone with me treated me like an idiot. Just gave me that "everyone knows THAT" kind of tone. Two weeks before I talked to another lady who made it very clear she didn't want to help me. I was hesitant to come here. I had gone to one other salon and had 2 other appointments scheduled for the following weekend that I had hunted down certain Maggie Sottero dresses to try. I was told this Dior salon was not worth the hype. The first dress shop I went to in Westland I found 2 contenders. The employee helping me there was not the best but Riley at Dior AHFREAKINGMAZING. She allowed me to try on anything and everything. She knew my vision, pulled things that made sense, TOGETHER, we shimmied my big badonkie into the mermaid dresses I wanted to try, it was seriously the best experience. The other girls in shop were very honest as well, giving you opinions you need to hear not what you want to hear for a sale. I ended up canceling the appointments for the dresses I had taken weeks to hunt down the following weekend because I found a Maggie dress at Dior I had overlooked. The seamstress is customizing the dress for me to make it exactly how I want it and explained she doesn't follow the rules of the facility, she does what she wants. I will officially get the dress around May for an October wedding. I can update everyone then on the full experience but if you're hesitant I say go for it! read more

In A NUTSHELL: I bought my dress here I needed sleeves, they said they could do it for a cost ($600) i SAID OK, they must be really good to charge THAT much They took forever, 2 days before my wedding they finally had the "final draft" ready, went to go pick it up. It was ugly. Not what I wanted AT ALL. Completely cheap looking (hello.. they charged me 600 bucks) Sleeves were crooked, material was not what i was promised. I told owner of my problem. She would not offer refund. I cried. She said no refund. I cried and then she said ok, we can try fixing it (admitting it was crooked), I said NO my wedding is after tomorrow and you guys took 6 months to do the sleeves on this dress. She said too bad for me. I took my dress with the cotton ball sleeves to another seamstress at davids bridal. She was horrified by what she was looking at. She took apart the sleeves and put them on all in 4 hours. They looked alot better, and she took off some tacky lacing too. She was my hero. Dior Bridal was my nightmare. End of short story. moral of the story? Dont expect any type of quality work from them, and especially no good customer service after you have already purchased the dress. read more

I have yet to get my dress in, but I have found this place to very helpful, contrary to previous comments. I called in on a Saturday afternoon to see if they had the dress I wanted there (only a couple shops in MI did) and I asked if it were possible, while I was out, to stop by and try it on. They said without an appointment I would likely have to wait, but that it would be okay to come. When I got there they serviced me right away. I bought the dress and my bridesmaid dresses the same day. I also went back for an accessory show they had, and again, they helped me right away and gave very personal attention. I first went to Dior Bridal Salon because they carried two specific gowns by two designers I was interested with online. I went there and I (along with my family) was underwhelmed by the dress style I thought was perfect. The saleswoman carefully listened to what I liked about the style I thought was what I wanted, and brought me a new dress. It was completely different from what I expected, so I was apprehensive. I put it on and it was perfect, and had what I really wanted. Still, it is a big commitment, and I was stressed, so I was not ready to purchase but they were so patient and understanding. I returned to try on the dress, and a few others, again, and once again, they were so patient when I told them I wasn't going to buy today, because I still wasn't sure. Now, I am sure, and I cannot wait to return to Dior to purchase my dress this weekend. The only reason why I am giving them a 4 and not a 5 is because of the size of the shop. It is small, and there isn't a lot of room for guests to accompany you while shopping. I wanted to bring my six bridesmaids in addition to my parents, but there simply is not a lot of room. Still, I am bringing them for my appointment Saturday because I want them to see the dress. I warned the salon, and they were, again, patient and understanding. As far as people's comments about the "attitude" of the salespeople there, I have to disagree. True, they are not as annoyingly enthusiastic as you see some on certain television shows, but they take their jobs seriously, as they should, and they care about making it a good, beneficial experience. read more

I purchased my dress in November on a Saturday morning. The store was busy but the staff was wonderful. I had the first appointment of the morning and Victoria was amazing and made me feel like I was a princess. I was able to try on as many dresses as I wanted and did not feel rushed. I couldn't believe that I found the perfect dress on the first shopping trip. I couldn't be happier with my wedding dress shopping experience. I had a terrible experience. After picking the color I wanted for my bridesmaids, she cut me a swatch stapled to her business card, wrote the name of the color and we ordered the dresses. After 14 weeks and 3 weeks before my wedding, we went in to get the girls fitted. The color was a pink instead of a lavender. The manager made it seem like it was no big deal and I could "just change my color, it's only some phone calls to make" I told her it wasn't just phone calls, everything was ordered or bought. (Center pieces, tuxedos, chair backs, table cloths, flowers) EVERYTHING! They informed me I would need to wait until the company emails them back to see if they could reorder and ship in time and that's all that could be done. With 3 weeks before my wedding I needed this resolved immediately! After 3 business days I decided we all needed a refund and it was phone tag for 2 hours until I informed them I was on my way with all the girls. The manager didn't even know how to refund back to a card. It was ridiculous, stressful and I was totally mistreated for a mistake that was not my fault. She chooses to body shame bride to be's and insult them weeks before the wedding. Beware that they don't measure correctly and will order if different sizes just so you're forced into alterations. Then when THEY make a huge mistake with he alterations, you get told that "your large frame" is the problem. No, you're wrong. Your unprofessional staff is the problem. I called last week about a specific wedding dress since I found a couple I liked but before I order I want to try this one. They said they had it and I was relieved. I told them them I live an hour away and super busy with a dedicated work and school schedule, and scheduled an appointment for the following week. I said I'd be looking for bridesmaids dresses as well. I arrive and they were friendly, but didn't seem to know about my appointment. Then I find out they actually don't have it. What upset me most is they could have taken me more seriously, called to confirm the appointment and confirm what I'm looking for to see if they could accommodate that. I feel like it was taken too lightly and so unorganized. They should have noted what I requested next to my appointment date. I had such high hopes for there since I've gotten dresses from them before, but now I'm just so disappointed. Had a great experience on 2 bridal appointments + bought my dress/alterations here. selection was excellent (everything from 50s ballroom to lace keyhole back or satin sexy mermaid) I wanted something 50's looking and had many to choose from. All the ladies were nice. I never encountered anyone rude. My alterations were also done by Mary who did an excellent job with zero stains or errors with her work. The Wedding dresses at dior were priced very fairly compared to other salons I went to in the downriver area. Dior worked with my budget, were friendly, were never pushy. I used Etsy for bridesmaid dresses/ gloves/veil because those things are overpriced at every bridal shop. Just a note for brides on yelp: I went to 4 shops total, had great experience at 3 out of 4, yet all 4 had 1-2 stars and many bad reviews. Satisfied brides often move on to their honey moon and don't come back to leave 5 stars. Don't let reviews stop you from using this or any other shop. Such money hungry people. They made me feel like a second class citizen. For months I'd go back and forth to them for certain reasons bc I did end up purchasing my dress from them and I regret it so much. I wish I wouldnt have spent thousands of dollars on their services or dress. I dealt with Barbara who is a straight up diva (the owner). I dealt with many different people there, there wasn't any organization in regards to that. I felt like every time I asked for anything small or big, I'd be paying triple for mediocre work. Anything I asked for was a huge deal and I'd find myself reaching for my wallet every time I was there. They had me in tears at least three times over their lack of communication and made me feel like I was doing everything last minute therefore everything had to be rushed to be delivered aka more money to bring things in from China for faster shipping. I wouldn't recommend anything from this place. You should be treated like someone that matters especially when you're paying thousands of dollars for your big day. I spent a good 4.5k on a dress that was priced 1.9k bc I added a veil and sleeves. And when I'd want to comment on price they'd all tell me that it was last minute even though my wedding was literally in four-five months . The dress took two weeks to ship, the veil was the same amount. If you're not willing to work with people of different races and ethnicity, then don't. read more

I had a good experience at Dior, although some of my friends beg to differ. I was greeted with a warm smile when I walked in with 5 other women, lol. I tried on 3 dresses at Dior and I bought the second one I tried on. I'm not a very picky person and I trust the opinion of my family so I found my perfect dress there. My wedding was planned in 4 months, hardly enough time to order a dress so I had to do it quick, but I didn't want to pay a $175 rush delivery fee, because the dress had to be shipped from overseas. When I asked if it really needed 4 months to get in, Sharon a woman that worked there assured me that it wouldn't need 4 months, and its just a precautionary. So needless to say she saved me some money. I also bought my veil and bridesmaid dress from there. *beware* alterations are expensive. I altered my dress there it cost about $250 and that was literally to hem and bustle the dress from the bottom. no other alterations. I sent my girls some where else to alter their dresses. Other than that I had a good experience there. there was a wide selection of wedding dresses. The accessories are gorgeous but a bit overpriced. I fell in love with a hair clip but it was $179. My dress cost $1500 with alternations. So I'm not sure what price range that falls into. read more

Worst place ever! Barb is rude to her customers, especially those who drive from far to give her greedy ass business. My dress came in with a stain, and the lady at alterations took it out so much after my final fitting, that it was falling off on the wedding day. I had to hire a seamstress to fix my dress. My buttons were also falling off. After complaining to the owner Barb, she said "I don't have time for this" and hung up! SPEECHLESS! I have never in my life experienced such horrible customer service. She's a horrible businesswoman, and she trains her dogs that way too. I made an appointment with Barb to drive all the way there and show her what the seamstress had to fix on my wedding day. She said sure come in, when I came, her coworker said she wasn't in. We left, and I had my husband call with a different number, to see if she was lying, and behold she was! Sneaky ladies, please brides avoid the stress and go elsewhere. It's not worth your money spent. Not to mention, they didn't even know my name after correcting them a goof 10 times. So unprofessional, how they're in business I have no idea. Not to mention, the Brides Revealed-Detroit is publishing their annual guide with Dior as its NUMBER 1 worst dress retailer in metro Detroit! What a TERRIBLE experience. I was the matron-of-honor in my sister's wedding. The bride got her dress, dresses for all eight bridesmaids, and a flower girl dress at Dior. Everyone was pressured to order a dress in a larger size than they wore and then pay for alterations. Fine. But because the bride was pressured to do that her dress needed to be taken in at the waist. To everyone's shock and horror her dress split at the seams exactly where the dress had been altered on her wedding day. Nobody realized until the wedding reception, but the holes are visible in the professional wedding photos during the ceremony. The bride didn't even get to finish her meal or eat the beautiful wedding cake because she was in the bathroom with her mother stitching up her wedding dress. To make matters worse the beading on her veil simply started falling off. When the bride called Dior after her honeymoon the woman who answered told her she would have to speak with Barbra and that she was on vacation. This woman failed to apologize. When Barbara got back from vacation she said the dress needed to be brought into the salon to be examined before anything could be done. The bride lives in a different county, works full-time, and goes to school. She told Barbara this explaining she didn't know when she would be able to bring the dress in to which Barbara explained she was always in the salon and to bring in the dress whenever she could. I attempted to assist because of the bride's busy schedule. Barbara was on vacation again for two weeks when I called and again the woman who answered did not apologize for the situation. When I spoke with Barbara she was rude, talked over me, and explained that they needed to see the dress to see if it needed to be returned to the manufacturer, but she would not even be able to tell me what she would do to rectify the situation until she saw the dress. When I was able to take the dress to the shop Barbara was flabbergasted that the bride didn't want the dress repaired even though the wedding day had passed and tried to make me feel stupid for this choice. She then BLAMED THE BRIDE for not noticing the seams tearing when she came in for her final fitting even though the seams didn't give until the wedding day. She would not do anything but refund a fraction of the alteration bill and insisted it was more than fair. Obviously once Dior has your money they don't really care about your situation or how they contributed to the stress of your wedding day. read more

Had an appointment with them last spring (2012) to look for wedding dresses. When I walked in with my mom and sister there was a woman at the desk doing some paperwork and she didn't even acknowledge us or say that she or someone else would be with us in a moment. Finally after about 10 or 15 minutes someone else came to the counter, STILL didn't acknowledge us, so I got her attention and told her I had an appointment. She wasn't friendly, basically asked me what I wanted, I showed her some pictures of things and before I could even tell her my size she grabbed the photos I brought and went to the back. Then she came out with a few dresses and told me to follow her. NONE of the dresses fit me which is understandable but they were all WAY too small (note: i'm not obese, i'm a size 12/14 and the dresses she was pulling were size 4s and 6s) It was obvious I was never getting into these dresses. I was able to squeeze into 2 of them barely, and could not zip them or get them all the way up. The prices were way too high. I couldn't really see if I liked the dress because I couldn't get any of them all the way on. The lady helping me was rushing me and she was shaking the whole time. I decided it was time to look elsewhere! Compared to the other few dress shops I went to the service I received at Dior was terrible. read more
