Has a chalk sign outside that said clean indoor bathrooms. We traveled three hours and stopped here. The Indian man at the front said the bathrooms are closed at 8:30 am and if we want to use it we have to wait for him to clean it first then he will open it. I think he was lying. PLEASE DO NOT add gasoline at the gas station. They are scammers and they are committing commercial fraud. The guy said he had messed up my credit card and another guest's, so for some reason I had to fill my car twice. One was charged $25.02 and the other $29.37, but I later discovered that $25.02 was charged twice. I drive a Jetta, the fuel tank capacity is 13.2 gallons, the price on 3/17 was about $4.60, you can do the math. My car doesn't have the capacity to put that much gas in. I filled up the car on the way back from Yosemite. I guess they cheat travelers on the road. read more

Lady that was inside with tattoos was scary. She scared yelling my kids and me, and about trash, she made us pick up whole bag and take out of bathroom with I said I will do, in a calm manner, then she run and complained to my friends and threatened to call police. We are just two elder ladies in 60ties, and couple of kids in college. She had yellow teeth, rolled her head sideways, spoke with her pointing finger up. I, honestly, just put one bear can in the trash that's all. And picked it up and removed as she demanded. Deranged . Yelling, that was crazy If I could do negative points of review, I would do it gladly to minus hundred. We all were unnerved and upset, like, why? Nobody argued or did anything bad, we were surprised but such attitude. And she offended my friend, who is 65 years old imagine that. I wish someone read it and be aware. For the longest time I could remember, we have been making stops at the nearby gas station without giving much thought to Claim Jumper. But this recent trip changed everything. My little ones needed to use the bathroom urgently and there is no way they would use the one at the station we always go to. We made a stop at Claim Jumper instead and I was surprised to find a SUPER CLEAN bathroom. I also appreciate the friendly staff and their having snack size chocolate bars. This stop had definitely made our long car ride more enjoyable. Moving forward , we know to stop here instead, even if they are located on the other side of the road. read more

We were leaving Yosemite after 3 nights in the valley and were in need of gas. Of course we are trying to avoid filling up in the national park, did you see how much they charge you in the park?! We passed a park station on our way to hike Clouds Rest and it was $5.25+/gal!!! OUTRAGEOUS. We were headed north, so we exited towards Groveland and saw this gas station on our maps. Gas prices were sooo reasonable here! As of 2 days ago, it was $3.54/gal. That is a steal ppl. read more

We had just left Yosemite and needed to find a public restroom. We saw one at the park by the fire station but it was closed. We saw the Claim Jumper and pulled over on a whim. The bathroom was clean and tidy. Glad we saw this place before we made the long trek to Manteca! read more

There are precious few gas stations once you head up Highway 120, so know your options. There are two gas stations just outside of Groveland, here in Big Oak Flat. The gas station in Groveland proper looks like it hasn't been functional since at least the 90s, and maybe even longer. Past that, you only have one more gas station before arriving into Yosemite, and the gas available there. Be smart and plan ahead so you don't have an emergency. Of the two stations in Big Oak Flat, this is definitely the more old school one. Just a few pumps, up a rise off the freeway, next to a bunch of garage doors, and the mart attached is pretty small. They pride themselves on having cheap gas and clean restrooms. I didn't use the potties, but I did buy gas, and it was probably a little cheaper than the other ones around. But still sticker shock from a non-Californian. There were some traveling tourists there trying to back in their big RV to fuel up, and that was quite a stir. To be honest, this is the least RV-friendly gas station I saw on the trip--not because they discriminate, but just because the fuel pumps can be a tight fit. You can do it was smaller ones, sure, but due to the pavement grade and narrow space, the less confident drivers might try somewhere else. Just calling the logistics as I see them. These tourists went back and forth so many times, it turned into quite the production. I can't say how it looks inside, but others report a decent stock of road trip essentials. Like others, we were on our way out of Yosemite and stopped for gas and snacks. Totally reasonably priced when they certainly could have gouged us. Spent a few moments talking to Corey....totally sweet young man, said they keep it reasonable for the locals. Will definitely fill up here next time around. Claim Jumper Outpost is no ordinary gas station/convenience store, it is THEE gas station/convenience store to go to off of hwy 120 before entering Groveland, towards Yosemite. The gas was the cheapest in the area, the pumps actually worked, and the 44 oz. sodas are only 89 cents. Too much good stuff? Perhaps. I purchased enough non-essential junk to feed this bear for under $10. The lighters are shaped like hand guns, the jerky come in an array of sizes and flavors, and the service and facility was not too shabby. read more

This is probably the closest gas station outside of Yosemite on the west side. The prices are reasonable...The 16 oz. sodas are $0.99...They take credit cards...The gas pump works...That's pretty much all I expect from a gas station. read more

I always stop here on the way and returning from visiting Yosemite. Easy access and egress to the road, gas is priced high but what's ya gunna do? The restrooms are clean and there is a shady spot just to the west where one can park their awesome Harley and prepare for the trip ahead. read more

This place is super clean and the employees for me have always been nice and friendly when i pass through with the family on a trip to the mountains. The bathroom is easily the best kept bathroom you can ever ask for, always clean and stocked well, it even has a decent view out of its sink window! This makes this store a necessity for my usual car full of girls. The store is kept up very well and full of every snack food, automotive need, and basic convenience store needs i might want while visiting yosemite for the day. Cant ask for much better. read more
