After reading these reviews I was compelled to write my own review. I had to laugh at a few things said in previous reviews, and can't help but think there was some serious misinterpretation going on. I have also experienced working with Dino, and No he's NO pushover. And to say pushy...??? I would hope so! Would you want someone to push you in the right direction, add to your drive, and help you become even more determined then what you are, or do you want someone who is lazy, passive, and has no direction or advice to give? Personally, he pushed me and this last CD was the best I've made. Yes, we also had several discussions with many of them being centered around his opinion. I simple took this as constructive criticism and a passion to strive for perfection. After all, that is what I was paying him for!! I always showed for my sessions, (as did he) and was always punctual. I worked hard and he worked even harder, what you put into it, is what you get out of it. My end result was truly a break through and I even amazed myself!! Dino has taken me from average to exceptional. He's not for the weak of heart or cry babies but neither is this industry. I want to commend Dino Maddalone Productions/Studio (and staff) for helping to promote my radio station (Always Hard-on Rock Radio) and the music I air by offering honest and straight forward advice. As a consumer I maintain the highest standards by which I look to someone in offering services by asking what they can do for me and how much it will cost. This way both parties know exactly what to expect. Dino Maddalone Productions was up front with all services and delivered exactly what I needed. However, I must say that Yelp makes it very difficult for me, as a consumer, to make an informed decision by posting negative comments that are so easily and readily seen unlike the positive ones. There are many of us who know there will always be disgruntled people but there will also be ones who are very happy and thereby we should see all posts regarding services, etc. In any case, the duties of a producer were met and one does not get to be Record Producer of the Year (2 years in a row as of 2012) if they do not live up to their job! I went to the studio to meet with Dino with my wife to discuss the terms of using his studio and services. After a brief meeting with him and once out side my wife said "This is just me but, I get a good feeling about him" I felt the same way...Dino is a very cool and down to earth cat. The session was to be a ten hour session but Dino suggested that we split it up into two? I thought this was a good idea to keep the brain fresh. Dino was very kind and courteous through out the two days of work. HE has a great sense of humor, and I like how he tell's it like it is...and not sugar coat anything. This let me know he's real...not fake! During the session, we heard a notes I played that can late but sounded good...I pointed it out to Dino and he took the lead...he knew just where I was coming from..and knew just where I wanted to go with it. I have worked with Dino a few times now, His business and him self period are great professionals, They know what they are doing, They speak there truth, And they are all around some of the best people I've worked with. not to mention he's very proud of family, Which makes his production company a bit different then others because its not so much the money, But building a strong connection with his clients and making everyone happy with the end result. And for the record Dino alone has met and produced well only some of the best in the music business, I soon want to work with him more and his productions, I give them a 10 out of 10 because if your in music business you know he charges good, And does better then most in the business. Found this studio through Yelp to record, mix and master a track I produced through my home studio. Dino was not only totally professional and on time in all the sessions we did, but I was pleasantly surprised by his level of expertise and knowledge concerning the style of music I was producing. He was very sensitive towards the musical and stylistic expectations I came with and all his suggestions concerning the process of recording , mixing and mastering were positive, professional, and I went along with many of his ideas. This will not be the last collaboration with Dino, and based on the experience of my 30 years international performing career I can very securely recommend this studio as a high quality recording and mixing facility. Dino is a great producer with a keen ear he'll make your music sound like gold. He's a drummer by trade so he really knows how to define the sound and give it a polished sound for the fraction of the cost of some of his competitors. He's got a multitude of grammies under his belt and was on the Grammy. Committee as well. You just got to check him out.
