I was so looking forward to having this event come to San Diego, but was very thoroughly disappointed. First off, you have to reserve the dome, and then pay for your meal as well. For the high price, I was expecting better food and service. When we arrived and checked-in, we got a couple of cocktails, so that was a good start. The staff was eager to take photos of my husband and I, so that was nice as well. When it was time to go to our designated dome, we had to check with the staff again, which was no big deal. I liked that each dome had different aesthetics inside. Ours was nicely decorated, with a winter theme. It was pretty chilly, so blankets and a heater were also provided inside the dome. To start, we were given some bread rolls, but if you want anymore, it was an extra cost. Drinks, including water, was also extra. The first course was a tiny white bean salad, which didn't arrive until almost an hour later. The main course arrive about another hour later. Our group chose all three options, which included a Baja pink grouper, boneless chicken breast, and a vegetarian dish. When you make your reservation, you don't know what you'll be eating, except that it will be either seafood, meat, or vegetarian. I wasn't expecting a chicken dish to be included in a 3-course meal that costed $150 per person (not including tax, tip, drinks, or service charge). Dessert was some kind of butter cake. The food wad mediocre at best and service was slow as a snail. The only good thing was the pretty domes we got to sit in, but I felt that it was not worth the hype. This is a concept started in Canada. Every dinner group, up to six, have a plastic dome with their table, a heater, ... The dome is transparent and gives a great view. Interesting. We went to the one in San Diego at Liberty Station. The organization is still evolving. On their website there is supposed to be a parking and event map. Three days after opening it is still expected to appear shortly. The night we went they had three servings. It came across a bit disorganized. Our server was fantastic. First course was a salad with garbanzo beans, not a big dish, but very tasty. The main course was meat or fish. I had the fish dish which was sea bass with a risotto. The meat dish was chicken with cauliflower, maybe not very impressive and many expected meat to be beef not chicken. Finally the dessert was semi-fredo with honeycomb. Very tasty We had a pinot and a cabinet sauvignon with the meal. The pinot was not much of an experience and the cabernet too heavy. Given that the meal is $500+ for four people, without the wine, we were disappointed with the quality of the food. Overall fantastic experience but the food was at best mediocre. read more

I read some reviews prior to our reservation and from all the bad reviews had not expected very much. My experience was completely opposite from most and we had a blast. The check in for our 5:30 dinner was not bad. We had to wait about 5 mins which was super short being that we were told they were understaffed on hostesses. We were served bread as soon as we settled into our posh little dome and delivered all of our food in a timely window. The server Danielle was excellent! So kind and very attentive. The parts of the bad reviews that I can agree with: 1: the charger plates had been peeling as if they had been weather warped and used but not a big deal to us being that they are technically decorations. 2: the food was not super warm like the tortilla in the bread basket. The good notes: 1: between the 5 plates at our table we had 2 vegan and 3 meat options. I appreciated the creative presentation of both plates. The vegan option was corn risotto with some beets and other roots topped with root chips. The meat option was a short rib with a cauliflower mash and curry sauce. Everyone of us cleared our plates and had enough food to be full and satisfied. 2: the service was very sincere and prompt. We didn't have to wait long for service at any point and they allowed us to enjoy our dinner with the least interruption. Also Danielle was so kind and gladly took our photos. Notes to consider: -This is an experience not a five star restaurant. The food was good no one left disappointed but they are there more for the event. -the chef cooks with Mexican inspiration so you will not taste your traditional steakhouse flavors. -our dome and the domes around us were all engaging in their own conversations and the only times I noticed phones out at the table was when they were taking pictures. For the price, this simply is not worth what you pay for. A very Instagrammable experience that is just that - an experience. Before the event, they email you prefacing that this is not a restaurant but that it is an experience. For a 3 course meal at $109 per person, I would expect at least restaurant quality food. Additionally, each dome is $200 so take that information with you before booking. There are three slots per night - 5:30, 7:30, and 9:30 - and you have 1.5 hours to spend in your dome. 5:30 would be the best time to attend to get daytime and nighttime photos. There is a minimum of 4 people to a dome with 6 being their maximum so be prepared to spend at least $160 not including tax and tip. The location is terrible for an experience called "Dinner with a View." If you were to place a pop up in San Diego with a name like that, the beach would be the presumptuous view, not Liberty Station with loud planes flying above you. Each dome has a different plant and tablescape theme and have some sort of climate control with a small heater. There are blankets to keep you warm but on a cold night, we didn't need them. While waiting for our food, staff constantly came into the dome and asked if we would like to order a bottle of Fiji water. Do yourself a favor and look at the menu because water is not included and costs $12 per bottle of Fiji. They try to up-sell you water without disclosing the price. For the price, I would at least would love free water. We got the cheapest drinks on the menu - $4 cans of soda. They have Coca-Cola products but when ordering ginger ale, they bring out Shasta. For $4!? There is an informational brochure on the table explaining who the chef is - a former contestant from Top Chef. This was sure to be a tasty three course meal. Out of the three courses, the meat was the better option. The garbanzo bean salad was refreshing, yet small. The cinnamon cake dessert was dry. The meat, however, was cooked perfectly, tender, and paired well with the curry-like sauce. Overall, if you have over $150 to burn for neat Instagram photos in and out of the domes, go for it. I didn't really enjoy the food very much and how long we had to wait before we got bread and our salad and the long wait from the salad to the main course. Before the event they send you a long email to prepare you for a long wait and to reframe your perception by telling you that it is not a restaurant and it is experience. Water is not included so you must buy your beverages. They could at least give you water for the high price tag! The bubbles also fog up inside even with the door flaps ajar. tldr: not terrible, but DEFINITELY NOT WORTH the price point. It ended up costing $200/person after for dome, dinner, and tax (after splitting cost of the dome amongst 6 ppl). Not much of a view (wish they did somewhere overlooking the ocean or with more nature) and they nickel and dime you on everything :( Would not recommend or do this again. FOOD: not bad, but what I would expect for something much cheaper (save your money and go to restaurant week instead at only $30-40 for a better prix fix menu). They started with some nice, warm bread and homemade butter. The butter was nice and creamy but had no additional taste or seasoning unfortunately. The starter was a "bean" salad. I personally don't like beans so I did not like this dish. Some of my other party members said that they felt like there were pockets of salt in this. They also randomly gave us 4 tortillas for a party of 6. It had no relation to the rest of the appetizer, was not homemade or unique, and tasted quite bland. It would have been better off not included. The main entrees were quite good. I tried both the beef spareribs and fish. I personally liked the beef better. The meat was quite tender and fell apart easily and it was paired very nicely with a curry sauce and mash. My boyfriend liked the fish and creamy sauce better but we both agreed the side of corn was quite bland and tasteless. Dessert was average. The cake was a bit dry and the side cream tasted like whipped cream. The orange sauce had some nice, fruity tones to it though. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: They charge you $12/bottle of water! Disappointed. Too much money for this poor event. We bought our tickets before the pandemic. The event was cancelled that year and they didn't give back our money. Last year we received an e-mail confirming the event for May 6th 2022. We went there and nothing! When we call, they said that it will be May 6th 2023. We received the confirmation for this year May 6th 2023 at 7:30 pm. When we arrived there, they said that it was 8:15 but we sit about 8:45. We waited standing all this time and all drinks available were paid. Water was US 13. In my opinion, they should at least give us a drink as courtesy. My mother, that was with us, is 82 years old and stayed standing with us. No one offered any better option. I expected a 5 star food and a great experience. I have nothing! read more

Really hate to give such a low rating. I understand that establishments are hard to manage and it's especially hard to please people. but I want to be completely honest on how I feel about this place. It's been almost two weeks since I dined here and I'm still not over my experience. I should have done more research prior to booking, but my friends and I didn't want our ideal date and time slot to be taken so we committed pretty early on last year. Should have looked at reviews from previous cities they served.. I might have had lower expectations going into it. All in all- I think paying for the dome experience was semi-fair. I don't think paying an additional $110 for the food was fair. We had a 5:30pm reservation and they recommended us to check in 30 mins prior so we got there early. We were not seated until 5:45 pm and had to wait by the bar until they were ready to seat us. The dinner felt like it went by so fast because we had to be out by 7:15pm. I'm a slow eater so the loss of 15 minutes affected my experience but whatever. my fault for eating slow but we still lost out on the limited time we had. A part of the reason why my experience sucked was that I was seated at the outer domes, meaning i did not have dinner with a view! I was looking out to the entrance of where I came from after checking in. To be fair, my friend sitting across from me had a better view than me. I guess I don't know how they could make up for that, it sucks being placed in the outer domes and we just got unlucky. But that's fine, whatever. The moment I lost it was when they brought out chicken breast with one piece of cauliflower as the main course. What!? I'm paying $110 pre tax and tip for chicken breast!? I wish they disclosed that on the website. We had a cream dessert that didn't really feel like dessert. I think I expected too much from this place and I much rather would have used that money for 5 rounds of AYCE kbbq. I got played. And I can't get over it. Some minor details and thoughts: It rained the day we were there so it leaked through to our dome and a few drops even leaked into someone's food. Not their fault it rained, just unfortunate. The "best" part of their meal was the bread and seconds weren't free like other restaurants. I also saw that they changed their "meat" option to short rib now, which is great. I wish we had that when we were there. Might have justified the cost. I think that if they cut the price in half, I would be less angry. The bubbles were filthy, it is advertised as dinner with a view, but you couldn't see past all of the finger prints, smear marks and scratches on the dome. This brings me to the most disappointing part of the evening, the food. Honestly, I've had better food on an airline. The bread was not fresh, the appetizer tasted like it was scooped out of a can, and the dessert was a stale biscuit. After an enormous bill we left hungry. Other notable issues: no clear signs to direct people to the entrance, disorganized hostesses. I gave this experience 2 stars - our server was kind and tentative. You are paying hundreds of dollars for a top dining experience. We would have been better off bringing our own food and just paying for the bubble. In a time when money is tight for all, this experience left our group disappointed and perplexed as to why the chef chose beans, corn, and the cheapest fillers thats presentations would be an embarrassment to tie ones culinary reputation to. Such a let down and absolutely would not recommend. Also, with the exception of our waiter, Peter, the wait staff needs training. One girl was chewing gum and handing plates over the heads of guests. What a disappointment! As a professional Chef and business owner, I would NEVER fathom serving this menu to anyone, EVER! The entire meal was a joke. Starting out with a "vegan bean ceviche" (barf) followed by some truly uninspired entrees: Meat Option: Cheap piece of meat served over what I can only assume was a pre-packaged Curry (Butter Chicken) Sauce. Fish Option: This was a doozy. A grouper fish which we had to send back because it was so tough and tasteless. (Most likely used frozen fish) The second plate didn't even have a whole piece of fish! Looked like they took bits and pieces of leftover crap and served it up as a "freshley remade" plate. Vegan Option: An overwhelmingly uninspired dish as it was nothing but root vegetables with the same consistency throughout the entire plate. Lack of flavor is an understatement. Service overall was good. The servers and bussers did their jobs efficiently and tried to provide us with a good experience even though the food was subpar - not much they can do about that. Had a server who is in culinary school herself and she was in agreement that the menu was on the "cheaper side" and could definitely have used some inspiration. Also, not much of a "view" for "Dinner with a VIEW". We were in a parking lot type structure inside Liberty Station so not a whole lot of "views" going on. Wouldn't repeat this experience unless they told the public who the Chef is going to be and what the menus will look like in advance. They "view" was non-existent and their customer service has been even worse. This is a disorganized, low quality set-up charging Michelin 5 Star prices, it's not worth the headache you'll have leaving there knowing your money was just stolen. My suggestion is to read all of the negative reviews here with a grain of salt. Many of the other reviews are likely from a bunch of negative, complainy Karen and Chads that are hard to please and no fun. Do not look at this event as a restaurant...see it as your own private party in a bubble and you will have a blast. Six of us got together for some Sunday night shenanigans at Dome 14. Essentially, each dome is heated, has music, a bunch of plants, a dinner table and blankets if you need them. The staff are working hard and go out of their way to service each dome and make the experience worthwhile (shout out to Jessica - our primary host for dome 14!). The music and lights create a fun vibe. The light rain added to the ambiance. We were having so much fun that we stayed into the next dinner service as their were a few extra domes. True this type of event is expensive. True the food is just ok. We knew all of this going in and set our expectations accordingly. If this is in your budget and you are a group of fun reasonable people, you will enjoy this. Ignore the haters. read more

The venue is set up in a nice location, but once you are in your dome, you are surrounded by dollar store decor. The food is served in very small portion. I was really disappointed with this event. At over $250 per head, it promised to be the dining experience of the year for us and the family members we treated. While the pods and the ambiance inside and out was very cool and well done, everything else was a bust. The food was notably poor. Not just for $250 a meal, but in general. Amono four of us, we sampled the meat, fish and vegan entrees. All were cold and at best, mediocre. The fish was an inexpensive whitefish and the vegan entrees included cold, chewy root and a bizarrely incompatible ragout type sauce. The meat dish was a bit of chicken and half a head of cauliflower. From the time we arrived, the event was disorganized and the service was amateur. We were literally 6 minutes early and made to wait outside while the hosts scrambled to find a pen to sign folks in. The "lounge" waiting area was a tent eith small bar- no seating area or accoutrements that could have made all the difference. For a $1000 meal- something that was supposed to be a special treat and a gift for some family members- this was frankly pretty embarassing. Thankfully, we had some decent (if not overpriced) wine to keep the evening going. We went to Chipotle after.... $10 beat out that $1000 meal, hands down.... Just experienced this last night in San Diego - reserved for Valentine's Day for a party of 6 when the reservations opened in December of last year. 200 bucks to get a dome, 109 per plate. They don't tell you once you get your reservation that you have 2 days to pay for your plates or else you lose it and most of your deposit. (ok you better be ready to drop that additional 659.94 right then and there) 859.94 up front 2 months in advance, this dinner is going to rock tho! Big name Chef promised, awesome experience with friends on lock for prime time. Show up and get told things are a little short staffed so you just have to wait for a bit to get seated in what will become your plastic prison for the evening. Nearly 900 bucks in for a big dining experience and you get the privilege of paying 8 dollars for a water - *ok* little gimmicky but you are already invested at this point. Want a drink while you are waiting 20 minutes after your reservation time to get seated ? Don't worry you can have a 16 dollar excuse of a craft cocktail or a variety of beer choices that include Stella and.....no, there's just one beer choice. It's Stella. That's it. One. Ok - while that seems a little off, don't worry this food from the celebrity chef is going to rock and for that price of 143 per plate (So far, without water or a drink or a tip) you should just settle in and let the staff take care of you. You have 3 wine choices *yawn*, here comes another 70 bucks for a 14 dollar bottle, but you already expected that and you settle on the one Cab they have in the state filled with 3,674 wineries at last count. Things are definitely starting to feel a little weird when you are seated in your dome and are now over the 1K spent for your guests with drinks during your wait to get seated, and you find yourself sitting at a glamorous table with peeling plastic plates and cheap plastic settings and table decorations. Ok - shake that off, they must be saving money there in order to invest in the food, rejoice when some tiny pieces of bread come out with 2 tortillas included to make things international, and one tiny butter to pass around to the 6 total guests. That is gone shortly since you are an hour post your reservation at this point and finally getting food, but don't worry, you can purchase more rolls for 6 dollars! Yippie! (Be careful here, these rolls are actually the best part of the meal. Enjoy them). Out comes your first course and it is - it is, a bean, salad? Beans and something? It low key looks like dog vomit, but since you already are over a thousand bucks, you try to ignore the fact that it actually tastes like dog vomit. At this point in time, things are starting to get suspicious. What is this amazing experience promised from all of those social media influencers? Is it - so far - absolutely terrible? Surely for this sort of skrilla, the main meal is going to be amazing ! We can overlook this other petty stuff when that awesome meal comes out and satisfies you and your loved guests, right? Well it gets to you - and it's a little cold. In fact, it is cold. Some fishy and short rib. Both bland and dry. The easiest way to describe is a business class meal on a flight, not first class, not coach, either way one that was pre-made but wasn't properly warmed. (PRO-TIP - REQUEST SALT AND PEPPER BEFORE BEAN VOMIT ) When we discovered our bland entree was portioned for a Bernie Sanders Voter and tasted like the cardboard that socialist now eat in Venezuela, we requested salt and pepper. This perplexed the staff, and there was a rush to find some which ultimately will arrive after you need it to season what is remaining of your cold dish. This is the point in time when the ground gets shaky, and the world in your bubble starts crashing down around you. You realize that you have just been taken advantage of and are part of an elaborate scam. You resisted your old high school friends pyramid scheme, you decided you weren't going to join Karen's "team selling vitamin shots", and you laugh when someone knocks on your door to sell you insurance, and this is why you have difficulty with what just happened. Your guests look at you with a bit of pity, but also with disappointment. It tasted like steam fish fillet. At least it should have been pan fried or bake to give it some more texture. And we asked for more bread and you need to pay an extra $6 for it. I do not post bad reviews often, but I felt it was necessary for those considering this experience. I thought this would be a great family experience. The pictures I saw looked great, and since my kids are teens, I thought how cool would this be more them. Yes, I knew it was pricey and was willing to pay; however, I felt genuinely ripped off after dinner. I had already noticed the advertising where they were not sold out for the duration and were discounting the domes 50%, but since I booked well in advance, not much to be done, and I was ok with that. We arrived about 10 min before our 9:30 reservation and were directed to the waiting area (bar area), and we were seated for dinner at around 9:50 not too bad. When dinner arrived, we had a wild mushroom ceviche, and it had mushrooms that tasted canned, kidney beans, pinto beans, and a few other low budget ingredients. The taste was mediocre at best. The entree itself was the most disappointing; we had pre-ordered (required) 3 meat dinners and one fish dinner. I expected the meat dish to be some type of steak or steak strips, but it was a piece of meat you would use for tostadas (not sure the name of the cut) on top of a curry sauce, roasted cauliflower and mashed potatoes or cauliflower. The fish was a square ( frozen type) piece of steamed fish that had zero flavors and the same mash from the other dish and some green sauce that was not good either. All the plates were either on a hot lamp or microwaved right before they were brought because the meat was very dry, but the plates themselves were hot. I feel that they used very cheap, inexpensive ingredients to make up an expensive meal. The service was ok nothing spectacular nor memorable; they took care of us even though we had, at times, order things from someone other than our server. I was quite shocked that when it came time for the bill, the suggested gratuity percentage was based on the cost of the pod and food, which I had paid for last year. We spent a little over $150 the night of in addition to the charge last year. I did not find it fair that I would be expected to tip on something that I had paid for months in advance. The appetizer was super weird, I definitely wished I had gotten a choice of apps. I got the fish as my main dish and that was just ok too. The dessert was the most disappointing though. We kinda Feel like we should file rape charges. (No offense to actual victims this is clearly a metaphor) I never pay attention to negative reviews or let them affect my decision to go or not. This was the first time I should have listened. But you pay in advance and there are no refunds. So we went in with low expectations and a positive attitude. Our time slot was 730 and they said come early which we did. But we don't get seated till almost 8pm. No big deal so we thought. $12 for water! Yes, water! While waiting for our table, we got sent to bar area.We got 3 cokes. And they opened a can and poured it into 3 glasses. Coke was $4 each so they made about $12 a can! The dome was kinda cool a little dirty but we made the most out of it. But for $200 use some $4 windex every now and then. The wait staff did great it's no fault of their own. It's a job they have to do. Meals were fair not terrible but not what we were expecting especially for that price tag. I've had better meals at community college culinary programs. Quite frankly some of those chefs are WAY more skilled than what was given to us. I feel like the 'Top chef' they had was the one who won a competition for putting together whatever leftovers they can work with. We got each meal. Fish,meat and vegetarian. Short rib was the meat option. Again not terrible but that same meal would be like $30-40 at any top restaurant in town. Not sure if the chef sets the prices. Now back to getting seated by 8. We were rushed out the dome by some girl that clearly doesn't want to be there at 9pm. We basically had to scarf our food down like the Simpson's or any cartoon. We basically had an hour. Thank goddess our party was positive and went in with low expectations but day ham! For $700+ before tax and tip is simply not worth it. And they factor the dome price into the tip percentage. You can literally go to ANY restaurant in SD and still not spend that much. I swear the people that work there just laugh at us that went there and waste their money. I would too if I worked there. The positive is to say I've done it. Would I go again? HAIL no! Not at that price Dinner with a view? We were in a courtyard area where the homeless usually sleep. You want a dinner with a view? Go to Mister A's or any fancy rooftop/costal restaurant in San Diego/downtown/la jolla ect. Unless you have some sort of hookup (friend/family runs the place or someone is treating you) Please don't make the same mistake we did. If you're going "for the gram" then have at it. This is literally the worst company I have ever dealt with. Within 24 hours of booking, and finding out they could not cater to our food allergies I tried to cancel. I all received were threats and denials. I disputed the charge and was refunded by AMEX. Well, naturally we did not go as the matter was in dispute but they are continuing to fight this tooth and nail. I believe this is a scam, and though I hope the mildly positive reviews are accurate I doubt them. I am sure it's a very short matter of time until this company is out of business, I just hope they don't run off with too many peoples money. read more

Went last night. And this is the definition of "doing it for the gram". Just to make the reservation is over priced. But we were thinking this is going to be a special night and well worth it. The globes, while they are cute, are dirty. You think they could've taken some windex to the outside and keep them from looking dirty with bird poop on the outside. The food was HORRIBLE! The food was delicious, the servers were friendly, and it was a fun experience, but not worth the price. Food: It is a blind menu. (You pick a meat, fish, or vegetarian meal). The appetizer was bread and a bean salad. I did not care for this to start the meal. (Was expecting a fresh salad) My husband ordered the fish dish and it was perfectly cooked. I ordered the meat dish and the sauce it was in was amazing. That was the entire meal though. A piece of meat and a piece of cauliflower. It was so good, but was still hungry afterwards. It needed more veggies and/or carbs. The dessert was the best part and I'm not even sure what it was. (Honeycomb cake?) Probably one of the best desserts I've ever had. Sweet, light, decadent. I wish I could go back to order just this! Bubble: There was a heater inside so we could control the temperature. There were comfy blankets and nice lighting and even plants inside. We were the first seating at 5:30, so got seated right away. We got to be in during the sunset and when it was dark with a full moon. Cool atmosphere at Liberty Station. The top of the bubble fogs up though, so a lot of the "view" gets blocked. Overall experience: We had a fun group of friends that we went with, so we had a great time being in our own unique bubble. However, for paying that kind of money, I feel like it should have been more special. (A bubble reservation is expensive... I thought maybe could include a group photo or a bottle of wine or at least include water!) It was my friend's birthday and when I made the reservation I mentioned this. (It said if celebrating a birthday to let them know and would add "sparklers" to that person's dessert) It was just one regular candle... not a sparkler. The chargers that the plates go on were peeling apart. These are not things I would normally care about... The servers hired at this event are horrible and ruined what could be a great experience. The food is subpar, definitely disappointed as I am familiar with her style from El Jardín. We ended up eating at Liberty Public Market--which had better food. If you're thinking about going, save your money. You can have dinner on the beach and you'd have a better view. The view of THE LOT wasn't pleasant lol. If you've purchased tickets, go drunk. That way you won't be able to tell how slow and horrible your servers are or how bland your food tastes from a top chef contestant. read more

What a disappointment. Our party waited over an hour for overpriced Fiji water despite asking many times, when food was dropped off by a server they said "someone will be by to explain what you have" and then nobody would come by so we would just guess, once when a server did come by she said "sorry your food looks so bad, I promise it tastes good." Cool concept overall, but definitely WAY overpriced! Visually appealing, staff was very friendly, food was good. The fact that the dinner was $100 a head, (plus dome rental =$200 a head) you'd think that they would at least include basic things like water. We paid $12 for a bottle of water! I understand charging for cocktails, but those were overpriced as well! Basically, they charged you a la cart for every single thing!! I mean come on! Charging $40 for a bottle of wine that you could buy at the grocery store for $15 is ridiculous! Our party had 6 people which made it difficult to get in or out to use the restroom. The food was average. Started with a bean salad. My beef was very tender, but the dessert was weird. Like I said, the concept was interesting, but they need to use some of that money to buy new plates. The chargers that were under our plates were all peeling like they got them at the dollar store! And although the plants in our bubble were a nice touch, they were all fake, plastic, and looked extremely cheap! My only other suggestion would be for a better location. San Diego is such a beautiful city, they could have done this on a grassy area near the ocean versus a sidewalk in the middle of the city. Glad I did it, would definitely NOT do it again. read more

UPDATE: Totally disingenuous company, avoid at all costs. They take any constructive criticism as personal slight and delete social media comments and block users en masse. It's a fun idea, but as others stated it was so poorly executed. Our waitress was polite, but the service overall was abhorrent. We went 30 min or more at a time with no one stopping by, so it was impossible to get a drink. 2 of our guests went the entire meal without forks, despite multiple requests. The food itself was so incredibly bland and underwhelming. We didn't even find out what we were eating until after the end of the meal.. bad look for a blind menu. Inside the dome was fun, and worth some good photo ops, but I can think of better ways to spend $1000 amongst friends. read more

They must have kinked out the problems of the first week as our dining experience was very nice. We were seated on time, the waiter was attentive and eager to please. The food was good and the ambience a nice experience. We were a party of five and had plenty of room, the dome was warm and the lights surrounding us created a special spark. Our entire dinner party was pleased with the results. The only drawback is probably the price. I could see a higher price for the dinner itself, but paying additionally for the dome is overkill and price gauging in my opinion. Overall it was a memorable one-time experience! read more

I urge you, please do not waste your money on this event, you will be disappointed. Look up other reviews before wasting your hard earned money at Dinner With A View. I took my mother here for her birthday and we were so excited for the event however, we couldn't have been more dissatisfied. After spending $100 to just be able to make a reservation, $150 a plate, $100 tip, $12 Fiji water (yes, only option for water), and $15 for poorly mixed drinks, we thought we had an amazing food experience in store along with a great experience. This would not be the case though. First off, the dome was flooded with water and we had water dripping down from the roof the entire time, waiter was aware but could only offer a towel for us to wipe it up, second, the first course was a cold bean salad with canned beans thrown on it, third, bread cost $6, fourth, the main course was literally a chicken breast with cauliflower on the side (it tasted like regular baked chicken breast with salt and pepper), and fifth, the desert was pudding. The food was all cold and in our opinion worth $20. After numerous emails to the event and explaining how our dome was cold, flooded, and constantly dripping water on us along with horrible food they should have been ashamed to serve at such a high price, they admitted that they had a lot of issues and weren't able to deliver the experience and there was a lot of unforeseen circumstances that led to the failure, but they wouldn't be refunding us any money. They instead offered us to dine with them again for free and we refused, as I wouldn't subject myself to their failures again. This even was too large and complicated for them to pull off and is frankly a scam. If you are interested in seeing their replies, I will gladly send them to you so that you can see for a fact this will be a fast of your money. The night prior, my wife and I ate at Jean George's in Beverly Hills, we understand with a high price you are not only paying for well crafted and imaginative food but the experience as well. Dinner With A View boasts the same exclusivity, but can not deliver anywhere near it. THIS IS A SCAM 100% save your money please, you will be so happy that you did, spend your money on a nice restaurant in San Diego rather than support these buffoons. One where unsuspecting people are tricked into spending hundreds of dollars to sit in a tent with fake plants and eat terrible food, pay $12 for water, and cry quietly.
