It's a cool concept and interesting experience but WAY overpriced. I didn't really enjoy the food very much and how long we had to wait before we got bread and our salad and the long wait from the salad to the main course. Before the event they send you a long email to prepare you for a long wait and to reframe your perception by telling you that it is not a restaurant and it is experience. Water is not included so you must buy your beverages. They could at least give you water for the high price tag! The bubbles also fog up inside even with the door flaps ajar. Glad that I had the chance to attend but would never recommend it to anyone.

"Bean" salad. Bread was good but nothing special.

tldr: not terrible, but DEFINITELY NOT WORTH the price point. It ended up costing $200/person after for dome, dinner, and tax (after splitting cost of the dome amongst 6 ppl). Not much of a view (wish they did somewhere overlooking the ocean or with more nature) and they nickel and dime you on everything :( Would not recommend or do this again. FOOD: not bad, but what I would expect for something much cheaper (save your money and go to restaurant week instead at only $30-40 for a better prix fix menu). They started with some nice, warm bread and homemade butter. The butter was nice and creamy but had no additional taste or seasoning unfortunately. The starter was a "bean" salad. I personally don't like beans so I did not like this dish. Some of my other party members said that they felt like there were pockets of salt in this. They also randomly gave us 4 tortillas for a party of 6. It had no relation to the rest of the appetizer, was not homemade or unique, and tasted quite bland. It would have been better off not included. The main entrees were quite good. I tried both the beef spareribs and fish. I personally liked the beef better. The meat was quite tender and fell apart easily and it was paired very nicely with a curry sauce and mash. My boyfriend liked the fish and creamy sauce better but we both agreed the side of corn was quite bland and tasteless. Dessert was average. The cake was a bit dry and the side cream tasted like whipped cream. The orange sauce had some nice, fruity tones to it though. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: They charge you $12/bottle of water! At the already outrageous price point for a mediocre dinner, you think that simple water should be included, but they will over-charge you for everything here :(

Nice set up. Drink menu is very limited. Food taste is 3/5 while food presentation is 2/5. I don't enjoy the appetizer and dessert dishes very much, lacks of green for the appetizer and too sweet of the dessert for my taste. If you are looking for a unique dining atmosphere, then this is it. But if you are looking for good food and expect it to be presented at the premium you pay, then you will be disappointed.

We were asked to go to this pop up event with some friends. I'm always happy to hang out with friends. I'll get to the point. I wouldnt do it again. The price is ridiculously high. The venue is set up in a nice location, but once you are in your dome, you are surrounded by dollar store decor. The food is served in very small portion. I believe the rolls were pillsbury can biscuits. Water $12 a bottle, cocktails and wine very expensive. I stuck to water. The taste was ok.... not bad. Food temp was too cool. I feel like we failed some sort of test for actually participating. But had a blast with friends

Our seating time was 7:30 and this was the view walking in.

Oh my where do I begin, this dinner experience is both elegant and charming. You must try the Smoke Tree Pinot Noir. I love Cabernet, but this is my new favorite. It's a blind menu meaning you choose meat, fish or vegetarian when you sign up. I choose meat and I had a fabulous chicken meal where the flavor was remarkable. The Chef visited our dome and chatted with us about the meal. Such a great experience, glad I did it!

I was a bit apprehensive to try this out. To my (and my groups) surprise, I (we) had an absolute blast!! The salad was so light and refreshing, it was a great starter. The fish was moist and very tasteful. And the dessert was decadent. Hats off to the chef that came and visited our dome as well. Very cute ambiance and a fun experience.

We had seen the bad reviews and even tried to cancel, but I think the folks at Dinner With A View saw the past reviews as well and took action. We were pleasantly surprised by the food and enjoyed our experience! Each course was tasty, good portions, and our server was great. The meat was short rib, and it was delicious. We left very happy!

I held this up to all the other bubbles around me to applause- don't let the influencers fool you

Here's the revised version:…read more The owner contacted me and offered a free event, which I declined, requesting a refund instead. She then offered a 20% refund and asked me to change my review, which I again declined. She claimed that despite paying for full event planning services, the event was subpar because I hadn't been involved in planning it. They didn't call. They didn't ask me to go their warehouse. They didn't do anything until the week of the event, when they tried to fit me into their random available times to walk them through my space via FaceTime. To clarify, I paid $2,000 for someone to plan and orchestrate an event. What I received was maybe a $200-$300 setup, and it's apparently my fault for not planning the event I paid someone to plan. She argued that I should have requested changes during the setup. However, I wasn't home at the time. The whole point of hiring this service was to arrive at a fully set-up event with my guests. When I arrived, they were still setting up as my guests were arriving (even though they were supposed to have been gone by then). So, there wasn't time to make changes, and it would have been an awkward conversation anyway. Instead of blaming me, they should have done the job they were paid to do or not sold the package in the first place. To add insult to injury, she compared this situation to eating a pizza and then requesting a refund. This was over $2k. It's not even close to ordering a pizza and asking for a refund. She ripped me off. I stand by my request for a full refund. She should have offered that refund on her own. This event was pitiful. I will never use their services again or recommend them to anyone.

I would definitely recommend checking this place out for an event space. The things I didn't love were the main dishes they had for catering -- they were a bit bland -- but the sides were really good. The bar was just okay. The beers were super cold and crisp, but the mixed cocktails were "ehh" at best. Our company provided us with two drink tickets, so anything after that you paid out of pocket, though the prices weren't bad. If I remember correctly, mixed drinks were $7. Housed inside Point Loma's oldest home -- fascinating! -- it is such a cozy, warm, welcoming little historic place. Established in 2017, it was inspired by one of the co-owner's dream of creating a community-centered cafe like those on the East Coast. The team is so kind and attentive -- just wonderful folks who make you feel right at home and in good company. The restaurant features breakfast all day, with signature dishes such as homemade brioche French toast, breakfast scrambles, burritos, sandwiches, acai bowls and a daily selection of fresh-baked pastries including scones, rolls, cookies and more. They also offer salads and sandwiches, including a BLT, club and veggie wrap. They sometimes have soups and chili, tool. I was even treated to a 1/4 slice of cookie -- a thank you and a surprise sample on my first visit. The menus is large, and there are plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. They also serve a range of coffee, espresso, teas and alcoholic beverages, including mimosas. There is also wonderful and shaded outdoor seating in the front and back and it is quite spacious inside. And they have a lovely garden out back with all kinds of succulent plants, lavender and fruit. The space is great for groups of small or larger sizes, and the patio is dog friendly. And the music is kept pretty low and the ambiance is more chill than not, so it is also a great place to study or work -- though they do have a 90-minute limit when they are busy. And this is an interesting tidbit: Roseville 2nd Story is a flexible co-working space located on the renovated upper floor of the historic Jennings House. The space includes fixed-location desks with free house coffee, water and printer access -- plus a 15% discount on all food and beverages. You can reserve Friday through Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. (daily access for $20, weekly access for $75 and monthly access for $275, with a 10% discount available for bookings of three months or more, payable in advance). You will find a few parking spots in the back, and street parking out front. And be sure to carve out some time to check out the restaurant. The Jennings House, with support from the La Playa Trail Association, is also an exhibit full of historic photographs and some furniture highlighting the history of the city, the military community, the San Diego Yacht Club and the area's Portuguese heritage.

As I live in Philadelphia but had the wedding take place in my hometown of San Diego, the last days, and many more besides, were hectic! Who knew weddings could be a cause of family drama, eh? BMR made my family's backyard, which is where the reception took place, look absolutely magical. We had purchased our flowers by walking into a flower warehouse- BMR's team arranged them for the centerpieces, made boutonnieres and my bouquet, all done perfectly. We had rented the tables, chairs, table-cloths and all other fancy miscellanea, and enlisted one of my relatives to bring over bundles of themed items- BMR set everything up and had it looking far better than I imagined it could look. Mandy, the owner/manager, had, er, managed to use some cheap white cloth as a covering to our ugly plywood overhang. It was a similar look to those tent rentals that are becoming popular. As far as I know, my parents have kept it, it looks so lovely and uses so little to add a punch. There are other things I must be forgetting, but hopefully the picture is coming together of all the work The creme de la creme was a huge, we're talking 10'x5'?, banner that was hung to block our wonderful but unsightly neighbor's yard. It was custom to match our wedding invitation font, completely BMR's idea. It also matched our logo, which was a bit unusual (octopus&silkworm) but was made to retain elegance. My husband loved it and still talks about it. Our reception was gorgeous, and BMR worked incredibly hard to make it so. This was made even more difficult by the aforementioned family drama and too many wannabe chiefs. BMR still managed to fix everything in a creative, cost-friendly (due to our own needs), breathtaking way all the while calmly dealing with family madness. If you are looking for someone with a knack for pulling a mess together, stirring it all up, and then serving a gorgeous brew, this company is for you.
