Went to Dingmans this past weekend with my dad and had a great experience. Nice facility, with a large selection of rifles and handguns to choose from. Prices for the rentals, ammo and range time were all very reasonable. What stood out to me was how courteous and helpful the staff was. The range officer was particularly helpful. He made sure we had a safe and fun time, and at times he even gave us some tips on how to be more accurate. Will definitely be returning to Dingmans the next time I'm in the area. read more

My family and I were in PA for a few days and didn't really know what to do. We ended up here because my younger brother insisted on it. With zero previous gun range experience, I was pretty nervous. We were greeted by 2 lovely gentlemen, Ed and Kyle (I believe) who explained the procedure and made us feel very much at home. We picked a beginners package for my brother and I to shoot (Mom and Dad just wanted to watch and take photos). We signed a few release forms and watched the 10 min intro video. Once we finished, paid, and gave them our ID's we were given eye and ear protection and went on inside the actual range. I really did not expect to have so much fun! We took turns shooting and Ed helped us all the way through. I was very nervous at first and actually jumped anytime I heard a shot, but with Ed's expertise, I got to shoot some guns (a 1911 handgun, a CZ9, and a revolver) and learned a lot too! We had always meant to check out this range and decided it was finally time. It is a small range with a small front reception area. Upon arrival they have you sign waivers and if you've never been there before they have you view a safety video. When we arrived all the lanes (6 in total I believe) were occupied but the turnaround time is fast and we didn't have to wait long for a lane. Myself and my companion had to share a lane which was a bummer but understandable. In fact had we come in any later we would have been waiting hours or even possibly not gotten in as a large group of people came in after us. From what I saw of people renting handguns it appeared that the range provided ear muffs as well as ear plugs which I'd never seen before at other ranges - you usually have to bring your own or buy some if you didn't have any - I didn't notice about the eye protection so I'm not sure if that is provided as well or if you have to provide your own. Since we had our firearms with us as well as ear muffs and eye protection we chose some targets and went in after paying. Inside its quite bright which is good and it being only 25 yards it was easy to see the target. It has a simple pully system where you maneuver a handle to bring the target out as far as you want and back in. This range in my opinion is more suited for pistols rather than long arms or rifles. They have hooks where you can hang up your rifle and a small bench to put your rifle on which makes it a little tricky trying to set up your gear and load your magazines. The range masters came over every now and again to check to see what we were doing but didn't pester us and we saw that they were extremely helpful with some newcomers trying out different pistols and rifles. Some ranges you go to the range masters are harsh and impatient which doesn't make for a great experience especially if its your first time or you are newer to shooting. I didn't give it five stars as the only drawback was the front store area which was pretty small and there was hardly any room to move once a lot of people showed up. It was a bit tricky trying to stay out of peoples way coming in and out and trying to pay, etc, while trying to watch the safety video and then waiting for a lane. All in all this place was very friendly, professional, and accessible. I'd like to check this place out again to rent some handguns and hopefully have a lane all to myself next time. read more

I love this place! The staff is great and the prices are very reasonable. The only negative issue I had is that their online renting catalog is not updated and I didn't have an opportunity to shot some of the guns that were advertised. So if there are some guns you're interested in particular you should call them to verify the stock. read more

I have been here a couple of times now, always a good experience. I brought my then 14 yr old son for his 1st range experience over 1 year ago. We returned today to have my 17 yr old daughter for her 1st range experience. I live about 20 mins from a local range, but make the trip to Dingman's Shooting Range because it is a very personal, yet professional environment. There were 4 range officers there today, and I decided to get a 30 min personal instruction for my daughter. Every person we dealt with was very knowledgeable, personable and professional. They all made my kids feel very comfortable and safe. EVERYONE is very safety oriented also, which is a good thing. For me and my family, I don't hesitate to make the 45 min drive instead of 20 mins to stay locally. I would recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

My wife came here with a few girls. First time shooters just trying something new. My wife was very impressed. The girls could easily have been taken advantage by staff in terms of pricing ect. This is a clean and very friendly range with 6 25 yard lanes. The small space means that each shooter can get as much attention as desired, or as little as needed. The Range Safety Officers are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient, as well as vigilantly watchful. While some may call the rental selection small, they have the best examples of all calibers of handguns and rifles, including a baby desert eagle .44 magnum, a DP12 semi-automatic 16 round tactical shotgun, AR-15's, AK-47's, .H&K VP9, the hard-to-find Sig Sauer P320 compact, .38 caliber revolvers, and numerous Glocks in both 9mm and .40 calibers. They also have a selection of pocket-sized pistols in .380 and 9mm. A great place for both beginners and experienced shooters. read more

It may be a tad on the small side, but it's a great range. The staff is very friendly and are able to give great advice about proper use of firearms. There is a great selection of guns, and the prices are very reasonable as well. The only minor "downside" would be that you can only fire rifles up to 30-06, handguns up to 44 magnum, and use only regular slugs for shotguns. But that won't stop me from coming back here. This range is right down the road from me... a welcome addition to the community because it allows me to shoot indoors all year around. I drove by many times before finally bringing my firearms in and joining. I have shot my firearms there several times since joining. The pluses are: A nice safe range that is rarely super busy during the week days. It's clean, with excellent air quality. Unlike many of the pistol ranges in the area, this one also allows rifles up to 30-06 and pistol caliber rifles up to .44 Magnum. The downside? Only the State Game Ranges and one near Mount Pocono seem to allow larger, more powerful calibers like my Grizzly Bear Rifle. Also, they do not allow me to shoot my bow here, but I fully understand what a headache and danger that would be for the range officers to have to shut down shooting constantly for arrow retrieval!! Range officers are very helpful and pleasant with a sense of humor to match mine! The range fees are the best I have seen in the area! read more

My son and his friends had a part of his bachelor party at the range and he said from the experience that it was great. The range staff was very helpful and accommodating especially with one of the guys who really is not into this sport and was very nervous about being there. The package they were offered for the group was very affordable and ammunition prices were pretty much on point from what I've been told. The range is on the smaller side but selection of rental weapons is a bit on the limited side but they still had an awesome time. Staff was extremely friendly. It was my first time at a shooting range and they explained all the different types of guns to me and what to expect when firing. Once in the range the staff explained how to shoot, watched how I was shooting and explained how to correct my shot to the point I was shooting near the bullseye.
