I looove dimsum as much as the next person, but I am just too darned lazy to make it from scratch. See, for someone who doesn't eat meat but loves dimsum, this is a struggle. Metro Manila is littered with so much dimsum kiosks every-freaking-where, but no vegan dumpling or siomai easily accessible. One time I had a really bad craving so I tried making jiaozi in my kitchen and failed miserably!
So it was such a delight to discover that at Dimsum N' Dumplings, they've started serving organic dumplings and "paopets" (a small siopao, not a furry little creature). At Php 98-110 per order, with servings that are really tiny, they're quite overpriced if I might say so. I mean, they're just made of vegetables, it would make sense for these to be cheaper, right? Perhaps it's the 'organic' label that's jacking up the price? I haven't sampled the Mixed Veggies Siomai yet since it wasn't available during the times I visited. The super tiny Mushroom Paopet tasted strangely sour to me, so I didn't really enjoy that. But the Mushroom and Chives Siomai is wonderful--I would buy more if I could spend more.
This kiosk is also located near the cinemas, so might be nice to have some healthy, guilt-free dimsum during your next movie date. read more
