I asked 10 roofing contractors to come out and give me a price on Owens Coring Duration Designer with peel/stick water barrier. 1-John Scott does his own estimates and goes over all the points needed for a successful roof replacement, prep, warranty and answers all questions, no pressure. ***THIS INCLUDES the signed statement he has paid for materials. WHAT THIS MEANS you will not get a lien on the products installed if the roof company fails to pay for their materials. 2-No down payment 3-Uses their own license (yes this is a thing-some contractors pay to use others licenses) 4-The installers were professional, and cleaned up every nail. Our 2K SF roof was done in 1 day. Tear off, replace any rotten wood, prep, waterbarrier, and new shingles. 5-Price was the lowest even with a premium product. JS did not charge extra for the premium product either. Out of the 10 estimates: John Scott was the lowest, the second closest came in $600 more. A representative from the company privately told me that there was no foreman on site at the time of this particular roof installation and it was done improperly. The owner agreed to replace the roof at no additional cost to me and included a silicone sealant as a layer of protection. It has continued to leak every few months in new locations. The owner refuses to acknowledge WHY a brand new roof continues to leak, yet makes excuses that it was due to hurricane damage (there was little rain during the recent hurricanes and no trees lie above this particular roof to cause damage). I would highly discourage any using this company for any roof replacements.

Now the owner is refusing to come back to our home to fix the leak. He stated that it is not the roof and not his responsibility.
