He participates in several dental insurance plans and his office staff are great too. He fixed an implant for me (so I did not have to totally replace it. The tech (I cannot remember her name, it might be Lindsay or Ashley...) does excellent cleanings and never hurts me (my teeth are very sensitive.) I was spoken to unprofessionally, my boundaries were crossed and I felt very disrespected-by his demeanor and tone. His opinion about my tooth which was said aggressively turned out to be incorrect. I had to go to another dentist and then have rework done in an old root canal to get it fixed. I don't understand why this happened other than he was having a bad day. I hope he doesn't do that to anyone else.

Over the years I came to appreciate that reliability, and Dr. Barr was always a great professional. I should have written a five-star review a long time ago, not that the office would have needed it. The practice was sold recently to someone called Katherine Burton, who I've never seen. I have seen one of the other Dentists there, who is young and eager and seems knowledgeable. I do find the bedside manner not quite filling Dr. Barr's shoes, although I suppose that's something that comes with time. Other things have changed, too: the front desk staff, who I always liked, and I've had to trundle out to the other office in North Prov a few times because they couldn't reschedule me on South Main. None of which is a deal-killer, and I guess if I walked in the door today I wouldn't think much of it, but, I don't know, it's just the way my trust in the practice has been lowered just a bit that feels uncomfortable, somehow.

I started here because I had a bad experience at another area dentist office and Dr. Ogata was recommended to be by both my grandmother and grandfather who were long time patients. I have had 100% positive experiences with every receptionist, hygienist and additional staff. They offer flexible hours & emergency visits when needed and a wide variety of services from cleanings and repairs to cosmetic. Thank you Dr. Ogata and staff. After going to a much larger dental establishment which felt more like grabbing a number at the deli counter and waiting for my number to be called than an actual dentist office it was such a breath of fresh air to step foot in Dr. Lima's office. Everyone is so nice, from the staff at the front desk to the hygienists to Dr. Lima himself, I truly feel like I have found my Dentist here in PVD. I needed a deep cleaning which would involve four different visits... They accommodated my schedule and got me in for back to back visits all completed within 2 weeks. He drilled out the filling and put a new one in. My face was numb for over a week. I called and he said this was normal. I've had fillings before and I've never been numb for more than 8 hrs or so. He scheduled me to return to have the remaining 2 cavities filled. After my terrible experience I went to Dr. Darby in East Providence who was awesome. They did a complete x-ray and determined that I did not have any cavities! Caress was going to drill and fill 2 teeth that didn't even have cavities! I've been going to Dr. Darby ever since and those 2 teeth are still fine. To add to my bad experience, Caress Dental said I never paid them $50 and put me into collections in 2007. Two years after I had my filling. I was never made aware of this since I had moved. I just discovered this after applying for a loan. Stay away from this place!
