Came here with a groupon for a gel mani. This is most likely due to the fact that it was a weekday, but the spa was pleasantly quiet and nearly empty. I arrived a half hour early expecting to chill for a bit, but was seated immediately. Jennifer worked on me and was a pleasure, from recommending the right polish for what I needed to taking time with my nails, while also making it a quick and efficient manicure. From what I could tellllll, their hygiene is on point. I noticed that their nail files and buffers were resting in the sterilizer cabinet. Not many places abide by this law and reuse these items on every patron. I guess I just don't love the idea of someone else's nail dust all over my hands. Only small thing I wish was added to the service was either a pre-mani soak or a hot towel. Other than that, I'd give a big thumbs up. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I got a Groupon for mother's Day. However, initially they were going to schedule me with three different people to fulfill the groupon! Scheduling is very difficult because they do everything old school with pen and paper. The nail station is very, but they do not use disposable liners in the pedicure basin! The nail technician I had was very pleasant, but I really feel she could have done better. I personally don't think I'll be visiting this place anymore. They are just too unorganized and scheduling is too much of a chore . read more

I've never posted a bad review but I'm sick to my stomach of how Amy destroyed my hair. Been going there a few years and have recommended her to many. She chopped me so so awful. Ive waited 2 years to grow my hair after losing a lot due to a medical problem that she was very aware of my situation I Went there for a shaping trim and she ruined me. This will take years to grow back. I still cannot believe what she did to me to the point that don't even want to go out and certainly do not any picture of me I'm so self conscious and my friends and family feel so bad for me. She. Chopped half of it like a bowl around my head and another layer that hangs uneven. It's so horribe what she did to me and my age too. I pray it grows back ok. Trying extensions and not working. I may have to get a wig. It's horrific. Still don't know what she was thlnking. 4 yrs Ive been pleased but what she did to me is devastating me. Beware.Ive showed people I recommended and they are afraid to go back to her. I still cannot believe what she did to me and owner refunded the price of the cut. I have been going to DD for 2 years now and highly recommend the salon and spa. Jamie Lyn expertly colors, highlights, and cuts my hair perfectly. I walk out feeling beautiful every time and get many compliments on my hair in the weeks that follow. The last time I had my hair done, I decided to treat myself to a mani and pedi while I was there and am so happy I did! Renee gave a beautiful pedicure and Tammy made my rough, self- manicured hands look so nice. The day I had these services was a rough day for me but by the time I left, the ladies had me smiling. Got my nails done here after receiving a groupon, when I went to pay they charged me for the manicure even though that is what the groupon was for. I was told I would receive a free manicure if I made another appointment. My nails were so badly done, a gel manicure chipped within 2 days of getting them done. I didn't want to go back there again, I just wanted my money back but they refused. I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I had already washed my hair at home and was a walk-in customer simply looking for a hair shaping/cut. I was NOT looking for a style, but in the end, I wound up with half-inch of hair cut, (I think), a style I hated and was charged $50.00 for what I considered a big waste! I used a gift cert. for a pedicure. Everyone was great. I returned for a root color & stylist, Jamie, did a good job. However the shampoo woman was rude. She asked me how many times a week I washed my hair, did I use something in my hair. When I said no she said "really?". I finally said "if I used product I'd tell you." Later she said she had to shampoo me 4 times to get my hair clean. That was a lie. She made me feel as if I had a head full of lice. I am so happy that I found this place!! I needed acrylic refills for my nails. I walked in around noon with no appointment and was able to get worked on right away. The place was very clean with a calm, comfortable, welcoming feel to it. Jen was very friendly!! I was able to have a wonderful "English" conversation with Jen and her colleagues. (Unlike some places where you can't understand what they are saying.) I didn't get my nails polished because I use wraps at home, but Jen trimmed and shaped my nails exactly how I asked. The price was very responsible, only $26. I will definitely recommend everyone here for manicures. I'm looking forward to trying the other services they offer. Was a walk in, waited only a short time, wash and cut. Showed her 5 pix of what I would like done with my hair and told her don't cut it short and to say the least I have had better $6.00 haircuts. I'm not sure how something this good wound up in Lakehurst, NJ (Ok, I do know but it doesn't take away from the shop). Run by Rose, the salon started out as a small cutting place with maybe 8 stations by town hall. Rose had a dream to bring a NYC style salon to Ocean County and more so to Lakehurst. The salon offers pretty much everything you'd expect from a higher class salon but without the higher prices you'd expect which is why in addition to just doing everything right at the salon ie: Hair, Nails, Massage, Tanning (I think still) and even bus pickup services from some of the villages by appointment, Rose and her staff (many have been with her for decades) offer a a comfortable place to receive the above services. While there are a few hair cutting services within 4 miles of the salon, none of them can hold a candle to either the stylists there or the enviroment that Rose has created. In the years my wife and I have been going there, I can't remember a bad day or treatment nor a bad cut. I bring the kids there. To the stylist there, it just doesn't feel like a day at work but rather a joy in creating that perfect style for the customer. read more

I had a gel nail manicure for the first time by Jeanine (spelling?) yesterday and had a wonderful time talking to her. She is an expert nail tech! The only problem I ran into was that I was allergic to the cream she used on my hands when she was massaging them in the end and my hands began to burn and get red! Well, to make it up to me the manager offered me a discount plus a 15 dollar gift certificate for future services. Plus she offered to purchase the cream that I use at home for my hands, for my future manicures. Wow, what customer service! Let me tell you, I have never been treated so well by a Salon.
