    Steam dumplings
    Jan J.

We wanted some Asian food and fortunately we found this place! It was right down the street from our stay. While we waited to be seated, we watched one of the staffers freshly make the noodles! It was amazing how they make it look so easy! Later when we sat down and ordered some bbq buns, steamed dumplings, chicken noodles (just made fresh) and some hot soup! The food was so good! Especially the steamed dumplings! We made a note to come back whenever we can again. Of course while we were there we came back later on for take out. :)) They even gave us a complimentary drink to go! So if you need your Asian food fix, come here! YUMMMMM!!

Highly recommend this restaurant if you are tired of eating all of the amazing Italian food Italy has to offer. Unfortunately I don't have photos of the food as we took it to go. The photos I have are from a video I took of a gentleman hand pulling noodles. Haven't seen that anywhere else except New York. Very clean and modern looking restaurant. Sat and had a beer while I waited for the takeout. Staff was extremely friendly and the food is amazing!

Beef noodle soup tasted like they put the thickist Italian pasta into soup and filled it with all the wrong spices.

The flavors here are customized for the local Italians who don't gear towards asian flavors. This means weaker or totally different spices used in the dishes and a lack of heat in certain dishes such as the cucumber salad. If you want to have an Italian to asian abomination meal that rips a hole in your wallet then here is the place to go.

Dim Sum was close to our AirBnB when we visited Florence. My husband and I love Asian food and were curious to try this place because there were many people inside. They are open pretty late for dinner, which is nice since our tour didn't get back until 8:45. We went into eat at around 10:00pm and they still seated us. The menu had a little introduction about the chef and how the chef had studied culinary arts around the world. It's interesting to eat the food that has so much influence from different parts of the world. As I was reading other Yelp reviews, I was amused to see how some people were so critical of the authentic Chinese food. Obviously this restaurant is in Florence, and so it has some Italian flavors, influence, and will be a little different. Coming with an open mind, we thought that everything we ordered was really tasty! The restaurant had a classy ambiance and is clean and comfortable with seating close to other tables. At the back you can see through a clear glass, the sous chef making the noodles or working on the dim sum style dishes. We ordered noodles with broth, which were different than what we expected but also very good! We also had a vegetable dish - similar to spinach, quickly sautéed. And we also ordered pork buns. We thought they were going to be pork shu mai or pork dumplings, but it turned out to be more like a bao. There were three in the steamer. All very good. We left feeling satisfied and full. I'd recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a break from pasta and pizza.

It doesn't matter if you're a dimsum fanatic/expert or if you've never had dimsum before, the "food" they serve here is awful. Words cannot express my disappointment with this establishment. Everything we ordered either was over salted or lacked flavor. Nothing was tolerable/edible. The dumpling wrappers were too doughy and under cooked and the fillings were so small that you could not tell what you were eating. The worst part was, they served us rice with a dead mosquito in it. And when we sent it back for a new one, they did not apologize for it or take it off the bill. What amazing customer service! Tip: if you're craving Asian cuisine, save your time and money and go somewhere else. I've never had such an awful experience dining.

I was recommended this place by a friend and always passed by when on the famous via dei neri street. It has a very contemporary asian fusion vibe and boy does it deliver. Despite the space itself being VERY small, the tables were comfortable and the staff friendly. We ordered white wine and water, and every table got hot tea for free which I thought was a nice touch. We ordered the traditional 'dim sum' dumplings as appetizers and got the three different kinds, stuffed with octopus & potato, beef and bacon and vegetables. All were beautifully cooked. I ordered a noodle dish with vegetables that was really special. Behind us a guy one of the chefs was actually on-hand making the noodles which made the experiece even more fun. A friend of mine got the noodles in a broth which was good and the thai beef was also a really flavorful dish. I would order a lot because honestly I was not full when the meal was done, that was the only downside. The table next to us got a crispy shrimp dish that looked divine. For each of us, with wine, the bill came out to 22 euros per person. I have to say, Florence is impressing me more than ever with the quality of ethnic food on offer lately, and I have been here since 2007..

Who doesn't love dumplings and noodles? Add some Tuscany glitter and that's it! The only flaw of this place is the fact that it's always full and you have to book a table a few days earlier. For everything else, God has blessed this food. It's heaven. A choice of steamed dumplings follows 2 pages of different noodles, all made in front of you on the spot by an amazing pasta juggler. Also appetizers and a few meat dishes are very tasty and they are also quite fast in preparing your order. During the wait, you can read the first pages on the menu explaining their concept, while sipping a hot cup of tea which will be constantly refilled throughout the meal. Take out is available too! Exquisite!

Spring rolls - excellent! Full family approved (11-70 yrs old).

Here is my gringo version of Chinese food in Italy... My family loved almost everything. We had sticky rice and jasmine rice, spring rolls, spicy pork soup and vegetable soup, shrimp in zucchini blossoms (my favorite), sea bass, and lots of dumplings - beef/bacon, veggie, and shrimp. The only thing that would get 4 stars was the artichoke. If you want a break from Italian food - keep it simple. Go here! TB

I've been debating between 3 or 4 stars here, because on one hand it's very average by any Asian food snob standard, but it's also really good in the context of Italy. Before I stereotype the entire country of Italy for not having good Chinese food, it's fair to say that outside of Chinatown and touristy spots, there aren't that many to choose from in Milan, Florence, Pisa, Rome and Venice, especially one that carries dim sum. The ones we did randomly choose, had very Westernized menu items, so we had very low expectation for Dim Sum. We ordered lobster dumpling, a pork noodle soup and a crab stir-fry noodle dish. The dumpling was dry and a disaster, the beef noodle soup was average, though our crab noodles was a delight. We also really liked their décor and cleanliness of their restroom, so I settled for a 4 star review. After finishing our food, we walked away satisfied having scratching our Asian food itch. But if we weren't in Italy and compare Dim Sum to restaurants on the East Coast, this would have been a 2 star review. Come to Dim Sum to scratch your Asian itch, end of story. It's a tad above other Chinese food you'll find in the touristy areas.

Craving for Chinese after the loads of pasta and Florentine steak, Dim Sum is the place to go. I went there after looking at Yelp recommendations and I am more then impressed. Most of the reviews talk about quality of dim sum and noodles but I was blown away with stir fried rice with bacon and dehydrated pork. Pork in Sichuan sauce and noodle vegetable broth were icing on the cake. Reserve a table or go after 10pm

Enjoyed the dimsum! Loved tye service. Dimsim and noodles were made bbn on the spot. As you order them... So fresh!

Lovethe fresh made dimsum and noodles. They are made in house! Service is great! They should have mung bean ice cream or green tea ice cream

Vegetable dumplings, fresh and tasty !

If you need a change from Italian cuisine this is the right spot for you. Dimsum had the best spring rolls and dumplings I had. We also tried vegetarians noodles and ginger chicken with hot jasmine rice. Everything was up to the mark and their hot sauce is amazing. I really liked their concept of serving hot tea, especially after a long day of witnessing all the beautiful art and history of the city. Jasmine rice is served hot in a traditional case and tasted very fresh with nice aroma. I enjoyed all the food and last but not the least the dessert part, their mini squares were delicious. We tried hazelnut pistachio, chocolate and vanilla. The place is open till 11, but still would recommend to make a reservation as its gets filled very soon. Dimsum you rock !!!

If zero score is applicable, I would definitely give them a zero score. The food is disgusted. Don't come. However, the service is good.

Food is lousy..it's neither here nor there. Noodle soup is extremely salty. I think the name "dim sum" is misleading for Asia standard.

Beijing 8 - Lunch Box: Chicken Thai Basil and Glass Noodles

Beijing 8 can be described as a quick Chinese food snack in a clean, modern dining space. This…read morerestaurant was close to our AirBnB on our trip to Florence, we walked by it a few times and decided to try it one night when it was already getting late. You go to the counter to order what you want. They have a menu in English if you need it. We tried the miso broth with glass noodles as well as the chicken broth with glass noodles, it comes with four dumplings, so we ordered the chicken Thai basil dumpling and the pork dumpling. We also had the steamed edamame and ordered a cup of hot oolong tea. The food came out pretty quickly (it looks as if most things are already prepped on the side and they just put it together after you order). Everything came in the dim sum steamer, I guess that's the theme and part of the decor experience. I was surprised to see that our glass noodles and broth came in a large plastic cup, also in a steamer! Both broths were tasty, but there isn't much glass noodles to eat. The cup itself is already small, so imagine maybe 1/4 or 1/3 at most is filled with glass noodles, that's too little. The rest was filled with veggies and green onion that was chopped too big. Anyway we were hungry so we ate it all. It's not a meal though, more of a snack size in my opinion. The dumplings were good, it has an Italian twist to it - obviously because you're in Florence and not in Beijing. From the outside it does look like a regular dumpling (on the menu, they call it ravioli) the flavors inside are good combinations. The steamed edamame was good (hard to screw this up). It was a good snack, but if you're looking for a meal, you may want to order more or go somewhere else. This place is casual and has lots of seating areas. I saw that they also work with Deliveroo in case you want to order and have it delivered to you.
