Had C&W Hanover Septic come out to pump the tank. Here are my thoughts that resulted in a 3-star…read morerating. 1) Had two guys for two separate activities. Both of the guys represented the company well. 2) When the guy opened the tank, he discovered an issue, as he thought the pump was not functioning. He proceeded to pump the tank. The cost was $575, which was a reasonable cost based on research. 3) The other guy replaced the pump, which cost $1,600. Based on research, this was an exorbitant price based on the retail cost of the pump. Based on all of the factors, would consider them again for pumping the tank, but absolutely not for other work.

Instead of using the 20 inch access hole, they pumped the sludge through the 6 inch port. in the past, other companies dug down to the 20 inch access port and actually cleaned the crude out of the septic tank. When I asked one of the workers of Cut Rate about this not using the large access hole, I was told the results would be the same. In my own ignorance, i accepted his answer. i will NOT be doing business with the folks in the future and I recommend that you make certain they open the large access port if you do business with them.

So, I have a home warranty plan but...what I had was considered "a fixture" issue so I was on my own! (I might be looking for a different home warranty company now, lol). So Nick came over and talked with me and was really helpful. I had told him what was going on and it turned out that the real issue was my house's main water shutoff. That's major to me, and I liked the honesty as I was shown the list of pricing so I understood that these were set prices and that made me feel safer, like someone wasn't just trying to give a higher cost because I'm a woman. You may laugh but I still see that practice, so that was good to see.
