Because Good News is situated in the heart of Soho, where all of London's hippest fashion houses, production companies and media firms are generally based, it needs to offer it's clients something different. Sure, you can get the usual paper, a juice and a bag of crisps but I've never seen so many magazines. If your looking for fashion, music, business or art, they have every single commercial, weird and underground paper and magazine you can imagine and even stock some industry mags as well like Music Week for example. Although I don't work in Soho anymore, if I pass this shop, I always stop by and pick up a magazine I know I can't get anywhere else...

Should satisfy any discerning smoker's every need. It's a tiny little place but has a big stock, and the owner is really friendly and helpful. Everything from Indonesian clove cigarettes to Gitanes to snuff to cigar- and pipe-related stuff I know next to nothing about can be had. And they sell handy flip-top portable ashtrays with their name on them, which is dead convenient if you can't find any of those "gum and butts" things, which you don't want to go near anyway, if you can possibly help it. Secondly you have the usual snack items and juicy drinks to give us all the much needed afternoon sugar rush. I believe trying our luck at the lottery is an option here too. Yet all this pales to the exquisite selection of magazines you have on offer. I spent a good ten minutes gazing longing at the shiny covers wishing I could sit and read them all. They carry American mags, including AP (which used to be my guilty pleasure), among many other international publications. 2. They carry Bassetts Fruit Salad chews, aka the best sweets in history. The difference is the salesman is really nice. It was raining (surprise, surprise) and I was struggling carrying a ton of books and trying to open my umbrella. He came out of his position and gave me a hand, he got wet and thanks to him I didn't , not so much anyway. Ever since then he always says hi when he says me, nothing malicious about it just a gentle man.

These facts really pop when you can see a bunch of papers and magazines side by side. It is then when you can measure the soul of the news outlets. So here at Falstaffs you can browse scores of daily papers from all over the world, not to mention leading magazines. In an instant you can see how the world reacts to major stories. I can't read Russian or Arabic, for example, but you can decipher their coverage of similar stories based on placement and photo selection. But you don't always need to be so insightful. They'll also sell you The Sun which you can read at the pub across the street.
