Because Good News is situated in the heart of Soho, where all of London's hippest fashion houses, production companies and media firms are generally based, it needs to offer it's clients something different. Sure, you can get the usual paper, a juice and a bag of crisps but I've never seen so many magazines. If your looking for fashion, music, business or art, they have every single commercial, weird and underground paper and magazine you can imagine and even stock some industry mags as well like Music Week for example. Although I don't work in Soho anymore, if I pass this shop, I always stop by and pick up a magazine I know I can't get anywhere else...

No to mention they stock a fantastic selection of international magazines and newspapers that one would often have trouble finding (especially American publications)! Capital newsagents are well set up and cover every aspect you'd expect from newsagent. They have an excellent array of daily press and monthly magazines, the fridge is stocked full of drinks, there's a massive amount of sweets, whilst in the back you'll find an impressive amount of stationary, cards and wrapping paper. The added extras are the ability to send money abroad via Western Union and you can do the lottery. Whoo hoo! I am impressed with Capital Newsagents. Rock on guys!

It is a common thing in London to see shops in touristy areas charging exorbitant prices for tiny,…read morepoorly made tchotchkes. A post card for 4 pounds? Seriously? The owners are often overly agressive and generally unnerving to deal with. I personally avoid Oxford Street at all costs for this reason. Amongst the slew of garbage souvenir shops to be found in London, Destefanis is a gem. Relatively unassuming from the outside (where postcards are on sale for 1Pnd, 50P, and 5P (!!!) ), the shop is filled with reasonably priced trinkets, post cards, knicknacks, sweets, newspapers, and magazines. The shopkeepers are sweet people who are friendly and helpful, and very pleasant to interact with. The next time you need a tiny red bus to bring home to a friend at Christmas, Destefanis is your best bet.
