The location of this newsagents is genius. It is in the heart of Hampstead Village, right next to…read morethe number 24 bus stop. It is a 10sec walk from every bus stop in the locale. The outside windows are plastered with personal notices, about renting, personal trainers to men with vans. Once inside you realise that this is a small little store, yet crammed with everything you'd expect from a newsagents. The selection of daily news is good, and the magazine section fulfils the requirement of most but is short on some of the specialist covers. There is the usual horde of sweets, snacks, chocolate and soda. Special brownie points are scored for Oyster top ups and for Western union money transfers. M&M is a good convenience snack and news stop. It fulfils but does not excel in every requirement of a newsagent. Small but useful.
Unsung high street heroes - newsagents, I think. Obviously they don't get much praise, it's so…read moresimple to get right and so supremely difficult to get wrong isn't it? Just get your stock in and always make sure you don't run out of cigarettes and miniature bottles of whiskey. Easy. But simple things go wrong all the time right? England penalties, scrambled eggs, trousers...So, here's a pat on the back to a newsagent doing it really well. They don't run out of newspapers, the drinks selection is just right, it's warm in the winter and they sell a few decent cards for when you forget someone's birthday.

If you live in the area and need your daily newspaper waiting for you at your doorstep, then think of this place to get that done for you.
This is the second awesome newsagent I have ventured into in one week. Camden News you are indeed…read moreawesome, because you are clean, you have a fantastic array of office nik naks, such as post it notes, tape, paper clips and a decent array of writing pads. Secondly you have the usual snack items and juicy drinks to give us all the much needed afternoon sugar rush. I believe trying our luck at the lottery is an option here too. Yet all this pales to the exquisite selection of magazines you have on offer. I spent a good ten minutes gazing longing at the shiny covers wishing I could sit and read them all. Well done Camden News, you are the shizzle! P.s. This would be 5* review but they do not seem to have Oyster top up capabilities.

They carry American mags, including AP (which used to be my guilty pleasure), among many other international publications. 2. They carry Bassetts Fruit Salad chews, aka the best sweets in history. There is a scintillating selection of candy, in the bar and 1p form, and you can wash the naughtiness down with the excellent choice of sugary drinks. When you've forgotten someone's birthday, they have a decent selection of cards to get you out of a jam too. What really tickled my pickle about Sweet Inspiration was the fantastic selection of magazines. For a high street newsagents they are stacking plenty of punchy titles that can be often times, difficult to find. I picked up Juxtapoz for my lady. She has always struggled for it in London, but now we know. The above is awesome yet you can also top up your Oyster card, transfer money abroad, fax and photocopy and the thing that always makes me smile - add to or read the local community noticeboard for advertising or finding services. Sweet Inspiration, you are the daddy of newsagents.

Look over to the other side of this well set up shop and you'll find everything you'd expect, from a small amount of groceries, to a sugar fiends paradise. Now for the brownie points: Can I top up my oyster card? .....Yes Can I play lottery? ......Yes Can I transfer money to my fictional friend in Guinea? ...Yes Can I even get my digital photos developed in 30mins ... Hell yes Do you have old customers who fart on the way to the counter and move so slowly and are so bulky you have to spend a full minute in their back draft as you make your way behind them to pay ... Unfortunately yes Butt man aside, Planet News, I think you've just earned yourself a 5* review. (insert applause here)

Considering the incredible disorder that abounded (there are literally books everywhere) this was helpful. Very helpful. I asked him if they had any books on astronomy. They had, near hand writing analysis apparently. I really do love book shops like this, they buy, they sell, there are antique books and also newer ones. They care about the selection but not in a snobbish, pretentiously literary way. It's a democracy and the book s are totally reasonable.
