Dillian wines are wonderful! They tend to be fruit forward (no, not sweet), which makes them wonderful to have before a meal. But then they have nicely balanced the fruit with tannins so that their wines pair well with food, especially Italian Food. The tasting menu is long and their prices are reasonable. Coupled with a friendly staff and you have a wonderful tasting experience. I heartily recommend them. read more

A few local wineries recommended Dillian Wines and I'm so glad we took a chance on something new! The tasting menu is extremely generous (several pours, $10 tasting fee waived with bottle purchase), the bottle prices were reasonable (most in the high $20 range), and the staff was warm and accommodating. It was one of the first nice days of the year so we sat outside on the edge of the patio and felt like we had the place to ourselves. Each group bought five bottles and the Barberas left an impression! We'll be back. read more

My husband, brother, and I had a wonderful experience wine tasting at Dillion! Dillion was highly recommended by a good family member and friend, so we knew we needed to try their wine while visiting Amador County. We called ahead to make a reservation and were seated outside at a personal table when we arrived. We sampled 8 different wines total and were particularly impressed with the Barbera and Semillion, which we of course had to buy some bottles of to take home. The ladies working at Dillion were all so kind and attentive during our wine tasting. While this winery didn't have that "wow factor" view that others in the area did, we really appreciated the intimate vibe at Dillion and the outstanding service. I highly recommend checking out Dillion on your next wine trip to Amador County! We will surely be back in the future. read more

This is the third stop of my wine tasting, and by now it's sizzling hot (about 100F). The tasting room was closed due to covid rules, so we have to tasting outside under the tents. The owners graciously provide water mist fans everywhere to keep us cool, which I really appreciated! Since the winery has a time limitation (I think it's one hour), the sampling went really quickly. All I remembered was I tasted a lot of wine in a very short amount of time! I faintly remember liking the Barbera because it's pack with beautiful Aroma without being too strong on the nose. My boyfriends parents really liked the reserves, saying they were divine! Since I am a mature wine drinker and quite tipsy but then honestly, I think that might be a more true note for the wine enthusiasts! During our stay, we also enjoyed dishes from Cousin's lobster food truck, and the company of the owner's adorable dog. Overall the experience was enjoyable with all things considered. read more

Only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday this is a nice family run operation with wines that we like. The wine maker Tom, who is the son of the founder is often there early and will be tasting wines along with you. When you enter Stella the yellow lab greets you! Sometimes they have ones for prior years that they are trying to move through and they offer great pricing. We bought a Primitivo that was fantastic that was nearly 25% off so we could afford to ship it home. read more

While tasting at Rombauer across the street, we searched for a nearby winery to continue our little tasting outing with a couple of friends, and found this one. We called to see if they can accommodate us since we didn't have a reservation, and they did! We are very happy we decided on this place and will definitely be back. The place is very cute and charming. The quaint tasting room is a farmhouse that the owners/winemakers grew up in as we were told. Service was wonderful with very attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. She explained to us each wine's tasting notes, if the grapes were estate grown, etc. She even recommended other wineries in the area for us to check out next time. They have some great wines! The most notable one for us is the reserve Barbera. It was supposed to be available for tasting by club members only, but she let us taste it, and both we and our friends ended up taking a bottle each home. We also liked and took home a Syrah and Petite Syrah. The wine is reasonably priced. We normally wine taste in Lodi & Livermore. But this experience has made us look forward to exploring other wineries in the Amador region. It is definitely very relaxed and laid back, not at all stuffy--and that's how we like it. read more

Tom Dillian knows a thing or two about the sauce. His gorgeous tasting room, plopped in the middle of Amador's wine country gives you access to some of his creations - tasty zins, a refreshing sauvignon blanc, and an enjoyable syrah. But the stars of the show were the Vino Nostro - a 50/50 blend of barbera and sangiovese that makes even my sister's spaghetti taste good - and their Rosato - the rosé version. For me, their Semillon was a tad off, and I didn't care for their orange muscat at all, but for the most part, rock solid stuff and a great staff to boot. read more

I am a fan of Dillian Wines. Besides being long time residents of the area and extremely down-to-earth, knowledgeable folks, the family and staff in the tasting room are cordial hosts as well. The wines are very well priced for the quality and they offer an array of varietals- and even some interesting combinations (orange muscat- while not my favorite, it is adventurous). Whenever we wine taste in this area, we always stop in to Dillian and come out happy campers. I would highly recommend a visit here. read more

Dillians is amazing! It's on my list of stops for many reasons. They have a wonderful staff, all smiles and very knowledgeable. Beautiful location! Fantastic wines! And delicious food! Dillian is a quaint winery steeped in history. Dillian may be small but they produce wonderful wine. The thing that strikes you first when you walk into their tasting room is the personal touch and inviting family atmosphere. You feel like you are visiting with people you have known forever. Debbie & Mary served with gracious and welcoming smiles. Little did we know that when we walked in this lovely Saturday our first taste would be poured by the winemaker/owner himself Tom. Tom clearly pays attention to detail, not only is the wine lovely but the glass it is served in perfectly thin & makes the tasting experience that much more enjoyable. Thank you to the Dillian Family for a wonderful experience. Oh and don't be surprised on your next visit if you are greeted by the one and only T (labradoodle) tasting room greeter. read more

Disappointing tasting experience. Yellow glasses, very little info shared, outdoor area seemed like a last minute throw together. The one positive is the very nice young ladies working the tasting area. In this new reality of COVID, any business allowed to operate should do more than the minimum. We traveled a long way and only had a limited time to enjoy certain wineries. Dillian needs to step it up. read more

Among the 14 wineries where we tasted over two days, Dillian did not distinguish itself with what was poured. The place was recommended by a friend. It was just okay. Complimentary tasting is nice, wines were decent, but it was lacking something. The host was pleasant and knowledgeable. read more

First time to Amador County today and I was impressed with some of the qualities of wines out here. I tried nearly all the wines that they were pouring(no tasting fees out here), and all of them were good. Their Semillon and the Barbera were the most noteworthy(in that I bought them). The others were solid too, and I have to give them 5 stars because they were the best winery that I visited today. If you are coming to the area, you must make it a priority to taste at Dillian. read more

2008 Syrah. Outstanding. Who needs Napa when this quality lurks in the fun country of Amador? I bought a bottle on a recent trip after tasting, popped that sucker tonight with some delish lamb. Holy smokes! My taste buds were right. Going to order more. At $22.00/bottle Rosenblum can compete with Napa and bay area Syrah, but this is still very good. Amador fruit and wine is all over the map in terms of quality. That's what makes this region so fun. No snob appeal here. There are hidden gems in Lodi and Amador and this is one of them. read more

Small boutique winery. Located across from Renwood. Surprisingly good. Tasting room could use a makeover, but who cares, its the wines that count and I was pretty happy or perhaps I visited one too many wineries. The Semillon & Barbera are highlights. The owner & wine maker was pouring which was a great touch and becoming rare even in momsy popsy Amador. It´s not a winery that you´re going to spend a lot of time at, although I did notice a BBQ outside, so perhaps they offer food on the weekends. Either way, I recommend you stop by. read more

Dillian's wines are consistently superb across all varietals. Many of Amador's wines taste similar, especially the reds, as if they all want them to taste like a big barbera. Tom Dillian manages to maintain varietal character while keeping with the regional style. Contrary to another review, I find the staff well above average. read more

We discovered this great winery on our first visit to Amador, and have gone back many times since. This is our favorite winery in Amador, and we love their Primativo and Barbera. Some of the best we have tasted, especially at this price point. I love their Syrah, and their Zins are quite good, too. We have taken many of our friends to the winery, and we always leave with a case or two to split! We've even entered the wine in our wine club's "blind" wine tasting, and it usually wins as the best wine of the evening. We are members of their wine club, as you could guess. It's only 2 bottles every quarter, and the discounts with the wine club make it a great value. We suggest everyone visit Dillian Winery on their visit to Amador County wines. read more

We stopped at Dillian for the first time and what a pleasant surprise. We actually had the winemaker as our pourer and what a great time hearing about the history and winemaking in general. The wines were fabulous. Everybody was super friendly. We walked away with zin and barbera. Will be making this a regular stop and may even join the wine club. 3 star joints: Dillian is the top of our 3 stars, and not because the 38 year old son was carded here. The hostess just didn't believe he could be THAT old, and she wasn't doing it to pump his already healthy ego, or to sell him wine. Dillian probably is a 3.8 really. Their Italian varietals stand out. Other 3 star spots: Terre Rouge and Easton Wines: corny, youthful service, but a swell gift shop, Bray Vineyards: They get ya in and out in a HURRY, but are friendly and bubbly. BRAY ZIN HUSSY? What's not to love about this place? If you like Sauv Blanc these guys have the best Sauv Blanc around...hands down! If you are looking for Barbera or Primitivo they have got you covered as well. Love this winery. Top 3 for sure. We go to up to the Amador wineries 4-6 times a year to pick up our wine club wines and I always ask the staff what wine they like. I was told to try Dillian so after walking into and right back out of the overly crowded "reinvented" Renwood we headed across the street to Dillian. We were served great wines by Tom Dillian in a nice modest winery. I like the "old school" Amador wineries that put the emphasis on the wine not the building because, face it when you get home what's in the bottle is more important then the looks of the place it came from. Amador is getting some "Super Wineries" with the Napa haughtiness...but I just drive right by. BTW Runquist #1 Dillian #2 and Dobra #3 for now but I'm always looking. Cheers! read more

This is a great cute little winery that we've visited a few times. The owner (I think??) is friendly. We've been when the tasting room has been both super busy and completely deserted and are always greeted warmly and served without problems, even if we've had to wait a minute or two for our next pours. I think the wines were are quite delicious and very reasonably priced. We always leave with at least a couple of different bottles. read more
