This review is for the New Years Day Clearance Sale. I'm impressed. Seriously impressed. My Mother has spoken about this sale for a couple of years, it's gone in one ear and out the other. I've been a recipient of wonderful items purchased here, but it never really seemed to make a huge impression. A sale. Yeah, whoopee! Well, I've changed my mind. I was in town this year, awake and fully capable of shopping. I'm glad the stars aligned for me as I was treated to quite an experience. In fact, 2017 started out on a high note! We parked and entered the mall to wait as it was cold outside. I had no idea what I was really shopping for, but 50% off of all marked down items sounded good. I thought I could find SOMETHING. People were talking about shoes, and the limit of 6 pairs to try (6 sounds good to me), I thought about purses, and of course clothes. Soon, and a bit before 10, a man came out to read a sheet of directions to the small crowd. Everyone was receptive and courteous. And we were off. No running, just walking. Talk about a score! We picked up a large Brahmin for little over a hundred, a Cole Hahn that was a great size, and also a couple of Brahmin wallets. There were D&Bs, and other common brands too. The deals in purses were incredible!! We went to the clothes section and had a blast! I have to admit that we also hit the other store and picked up a load there- men's items, children's items, OMG! We had set a budget number and shopped to it but it would have been easy to go for broke! **Accessibility Thoughts** This is an old school department store. It is one floor, has wide parkay pathways through the store and is arranged for accessibility, in my opinion. Walkers and Wheelchairs fit between clothing racks with relative ease in most sections. read more

The day 2/23/25 I came in with my significant other, I was looking for a dress for my best friend's wedding. So I had found a few and wanted to try them on, I went in and asked my significant other to help me pull up my dress. Since the worker "Connie" was too busy talking to her friends at another register. Once she had saw my significant other in the dressing room, mind you she wasn't doing her job and decided to make a petty comment, there's little girls in here to him. He is not a peeper, I didn't see anyone else in the dressing room. He just helped me pull up the zipper of my dress. I was really upset about that accusation which is HUGE accusation and wasn't gonna buy the dress from her, she decided to grab the dress from and said she would just hold it for me. I had a gut feeling to not buy a dress from her especially with that nasty comment. "SHE ONLY CARES ABOUT COMMISSION" that's why she took my dress for me. " oh I'll hold it for you". A couple days go by it's 2/27/25. I decided to return the dress I go in waited let's say 15-20 mins at the register. Here comes "Connie" she made a huge sigh and said oh you are trying to return this dress and asked why I said I have found another dress proceeds to rip the bag and check the dress, and I hand her the receipt she said "I can't return this you missed the 3 day period" she proceeds to say "well if you can read in black bold letters it says 3 day return", "obviously you didn't read your receipt. there's nothing I can do about it, it's the 27th "Making me feel so incompetent. I have already had a bad day and she was just making me feel like I didn't understand English. I said okay that's fine, I didn't know and plus she didn't inform me of the return policy the day I bought it. Why examine and rip the bag if you weren't going to do the return. Also Didn't even hand me the dress. I was so upset and was like you can just keep my dress but my sister said no you spent money on it and get it back. So I had to go behind the counter to get my dress since she didn't want to give/hand it to me. I walked away and was crying cause she just made me feel like I was dumb and didn't understand her. I was born here in the US. I did tell her I will be talking to "Kim" who is in the purse area I have bought many bags from her she is an amazing Sale Associate who doesn't treat you like you are less than her. She also tried to call and inform kim of me walking over to speak to her cause the phone ranged right when I went over to the purse area I spoke to Kim and she said she would tell someone about it. When I left the Dillard store I can tell Connie has been gossiping about me with everyone cause everyone was staring at me. So I went and asked her for her name and I told her you need to learn to be nice to customers cause I work in customer service you don't show negative emotions you must be patient to every customer even if you get frustrated. I called customer service and I explained everything they decided to give me Toms number who is the district manager. I have called and left him a voice mail and he has yet to call me back. Why does Dillard's use U.S. Post Office to make home deliveries. The item I wanted was not in our local store in Springfield, MO so the sales associate suggested ordering it for home delivery. That was a $10 extra charge. The order was shipped out of Little Rock, AR on 12/2/25 and here it is 12/13/25 and the item is stuck in post office hell. Dillard's web site says shipped items should arrive within 3 - 5 days. According to the online tracking info, the shipment made it from Little Rock to Kansas City and then somewhere onward presumably heading to Springfield. It has been sitting in that status for 5 days with no movement. Out of desperation, I found the same product on Amazon for $10 cheaper and next day delivery! So I have ended up paying Dillard's an extra $20 for an item that has never been delivered! When will Dillard's realize our U.S. Post Office is very broken? To top it off, when I called the local Dillard's store as per tracking instructions to see if they could shed some light as to where my package was, the response, was "yup it is somewhere between Kansas City and who knows where". After leaving the lengthy review below, and calling every corporate VICE PRESIDENT that I could get a hold of in Little Rock Arkansas, and leaving a voice message because no one answers the phone. Would you think that I would get a callback or an apology or a promise that they would look into it and see that this I've never happens to anyone again?? in my business, I would have contacted the customer that evening, however I never received a call from anyone but a young girl named an admin 2 days later! I asked her what her job was and she said my job is to handle things like this. She's very kind but it feels like I was put off tossed to the side so that the men with the big titles and big paychecks can avoid dealing with the real problems. Dillards is poor in every way shape and form of the word. They hire Poor individuals. They run their stores Poorly. And the main corporate headquarters is completely Poorly Ran!! I experienced this firsthand. You think when you're gonna have a real big problem that the corporate will always come through.... Absolutely not with Dillards. I believe the girls could've walked up and spit in my face and they wouldn't have backed those girls or not have done anything. Just think twice before you ever go in there again!! it always tell you one thing when you have trouble even getting a wheelchair in there as I saw a gentleman trying to get his wife in there and he was about 80 years old could not hardly get her up on the step that gets you into the store. They don't even have a Nice curve for elderly people or disabled. The step he had to use was about 5 inches tall and he had to bounce her up to get her in the store door Uncalled for!! read more

There is not enough room in this space for me to convey the experience I've had at Dillards in Springfield, MO in the Lingerie Department. The ONLY positive comment is the initial fitting for a minimizing bra to the sales person being knowledgeable and decent. I purchased 3 Bras which were very pricey with no coupons or deals. Unlike KOHLS where there is always coupons and deals. I took one Bra home and 2 were shipped. The Bra I took home was so uncomfortable, I returned it. The bra had not been washed.. and I guess in transit, it got a spot on it. You would have thought it was a CRIME! The associates were rude and very belittling to me. They reluctantly FINALLY refunded the price of the bra and took it back after making me feel like worse than a 2nd class citizen. It was their haughty attitude and demeanor. One of the bras I received in shipping is my favorite. I am picturing it below. One major problem is the wire busting through after 4 times of wear. Although the Dillards store is 70 miles from me, I took it back to return, even though I really didn't want to be treated poorly again. Believe this, they would NOT t refund of EXCHANGE this faulty product. Keep in mind I calmly explained the problem, even though the problem was very easy to see...right in front of them. I left the store after telling them I a seamstress and would fix it myself. Now, keep in mind I paid 70$ for each bra ,so it has stuck with me to never visit the Springfield MO Dillards again. They and I mean even management would not refund me money for a faulty product because I had returned a bra previously. Unreal. Now, I mended the bra and I do like it. I was going to do this review promptly a couple of months ago but got busy and didn't, my recourse was never visiting that store again, AND telling everyone I know not to either. Just today, wearing the favorite bra, I felt something and , checked... as you will see below the wire on the other side burst through also!!! Now to mend again. The children's section has no shopping carts!! It's on the complete opposite end of the mall, separate from women's fashion, instead is in the men's section! There is no bathroom on that level of the store!!! Completely not set up for children's shopping!! read more

After conducting thorough research and watching prices for about four months, I've determined that this is a great place to get living room and family room furniture. It seems like the prices they place on the newest items in stock are equal to, or even less than, other stores in Springfield whose inventories are devoted solely to furniture. I've not shopped for bedroom or dining room items in recent years, so I don't know whether Dillards also has good buys on those. read more

It's really nice but very expensive. Sometimes there are deals to be had. However, their merchandise is unique and good quality.

I love Dillards. Anything you could possibly want is in one store. And they carry a lot of designers like Michael Khors, Gianni Bini, BCBG, ......i could spend ALL DAY in their handbags department. Everything from Lucky, Fossil, and Guess to Coach, Dooney's, and Gianni Bini. I bought a Kathy purse from them several months ago that needed some restitching and they repaired it for me for free. read more

Shoes! I can't believe there isn't a separate place to rate shoe shopping! Dillard's is located in the south end of the mall and has the best selection of women's shoes in Springfield. (Sorry, Plaza!) The salespeople are generally helpful and not too pushy. It can be a busy place, they run lots of sales and I've never had them not have my size. Everything from high dollar fashion (well, high according to my budget) to comfort/European shoes to fun casual and athletic. The men's shoes are located in the other Dillards location further west in the mall, and they have an outstanding selection also. read more

Originally an associate at this location, I have to commend Alan Pierson, the men's suit specialist. The sales at this DILLARDS are much better than the ones in Las Vegas. Went to the New Years Day sale in Springfield,Mo with shoes in mind. All previous years, the shoes were out on racks. Look at all the boxes to see a style and color you like. Try on an 8, too big, put it back and get the 7 1/2. Great. Go purchase. THIS YEAR. Good Grief!! No shoes out. Grab a pair from the regular displays. (Several "teams" grabbed several of the regular display shoes, so there were no shoes left!) Finally find a display shoe you might like. Grab it (thereby depriving others of an opportunity). Get in l-o-n-g line. Ask clerk for your size, give them the display shoe. (Clerks not on floor, rather only at counter). Get your size. Weave back through crowd to find a chair. Try on. Too big. Get BACK in line, ask for other size. Repeat as needed. Decide to buy. Get in line AGAIN to pay. Most frustrating shopping experience of my life. If it's that way next year, I'm not staying. I kept hoping this was an oversight and that management would "fix it", but it was the modus operandi. Also, MANY, MANY shoes were not on sale at all. I bought two pairs of Nurture shoes, but not Cole Haan or Born as in times past. Overall, the shoe sale was a big disappointment this year. (purses are a great buy, however). read more

My significant other works for a sandwich delivery shop and there was a large order placed out of Dillard's today, specifically the women's handbag department. When he got to the woman who received the order, he told her the price and handed her the receipt to sign. The total was $89. She proceeded to sign the ticket and completely stiff him on a top. Now this wouldn't be so unusual considering how selfish people are, however ITS CHRISTMAS EVE. I cannot understand people who utilize services that require a tip and they don't tip. These workers do not make minimum wage so refusing to tip them creates a hardship in their lives. You would think especially around the Christmas season that people wouldn't do such mean things. read more

So I have always wanted a cashmere sweater. I love the stuff. I received a cashmere blend overcoat for Christmas and just love it, so when I went into Dillard's the other day and found they were have a sale on there sweaters I almost had a conniption fit. Then I realized that I am freakishly tall and can not buy regular clothing. You see I need shirts with monkey arms, because, well I'm a monkey. Anyhoo I swing on over to the big and TALL department to see if I will have any chance of getting my sweater. So I look and don't find I thing and then I thought what do most people do when they can't find something, ask for help. Then again I'm a guy and guys don't like asking for directions, so I do what we all do I looked around for another twenty minutes and then it happened. I found the last black cashmere sweater in my size, it was great. Full price was $150, but thanks to the awesome clearance sales that this store runs I got it for $30.
