Used this service outside the cruise terminal to get bags to train depot since free shuttle line was very long. Worked out great thanks!

Watching the sun come up over the mountains and stream through all the beautiful windows has been a highlight of the trip. The suite is large and very comfortable. The owners have done a wonderful job of blending the quaint historical elements with modern comforts. This place used to be a brothel way back in the day. It's not even a block from the SeaLife Center and right by lots of shops. Looking forward to just walking downstairs for breakfast at the Sea Bean Cafe.

It's near several restaurants and shops, including the coffee shop downstairs, and the waterfront. Since it isn't located in the part of Seward that is crowded by the cruise ship folks, street parking is free unlike elsewhere. Our suite, Wilderness Room #3, was spacious and clean with lots of natural light and the historical details and decor were charming. After spending our days out hiking, we really appreciated the comfortable king bed and cozy bedding. The kitchen came in handy a few times for making meals to take with us on outings and I imagine this would be helpful for families, too. Oh, and the Sea Bean coffee was a great touch! If I could make one small suggestion for the room, I would have liked a curtain on the bathroom window for added privacy. I'd happily stay here again if I returned to the Kenai Peninsula. I think it's a good value for the accommodations.

I don't usually write reviews for rental car agencies, especially Hertz, but this one in Seward is…read morethe exception. They were professional, efficient, and well stocked given the number of travelers descending upon them them this summer season. They are located next to the train depot which is extremely handy. They actually have a shuttle to pick you up from the depot but somehow I missed that and walked around the corner to get to them easily anyway. If you plan to stay in town for a few days like we did, I actually recommend renting a car. The town is small, but there is a lot to see, especially if you come in to see Kenai Fjords at Exit Glacier like we did. I recommend this car rental agency and would use again if ever in Seward.

Having traveled quite a bit, I have to say this place was the worst I've ever seen in customer…read moreservice. Pardon the long review but I think it's important. I reserved a rental car for one day here. We were arriving via taxi post cruise, ice climbing and then spending the night before going to anchorage (with a couple stops we wanted on the way). I called this location to make the reservation over a month in advance. I spoke a nice lady (Ginger). I explained my concern (that a bunch of pieces had to work together and that we might not be finished ice climbing by the 5pm closing time. And that I had two options.... stay in town for more and use a taxi back to anchorage or rent a car post ice climbing and stay at an air bnb near bear lake). She was very nice and said that if ice climbing didn't finish by 5pm it would be no problem, she lived in seward and she would simply come back to rent us the car after. Said there was a sign on the door with a number and that was hers. I'm thinking "amazing, I love small towns." I call back a few weeks later as I haven't received my confirmation email. They say I don't need one, my reservation is in the system. I respectfully request one anyway, they send it. The big day arrives, we wake up early, taxi to seward, ice climb, I get the ice climbers to drop me directly at hertz (by now it is 6:15pm). I call the number on the door. No answer, voicemail for. I call back 3 more times and on the third time, Ginger answers. She remembers our conversation but says she thought I was going to confirm a day or two before!! How??!? I've never confirmed when I have rented. And I have no idea what time ice climbing is done, until it is done! She says she is out of town until 1030pm. So our family of 5, including 2 teenage boys, who are all tired, take a cab (not cheap) to the airbnb, drop off luggage, quick clothes change (no time for shower as cab is waiting) and go back to town for dinner. I text Ginger our plan and to meet her around 1030pm... after a few unanswer phone calls to confirm, she texts back ok and she'll text when in town but her phone is dying. We go to dinner, go to ice cream, then it's 10pm and the town is basically closed at that time so we hang out at a random hotel lobby. At 1030, I call her... straight to voicemail. 10:45 we walk to the hertz thinking she might be there... nothing. By 11, we call a cab and decide to fix it in the morning. At 1145pm she texts me back that she is 45 min away!! WTH... you knew we were waiting and you know the town closes at 10! 1230am?!?! I text her not to bother and go to bed. Next morning, we still have to get to anchorage, and we are still at an airbnb outside of town. At 8am I call Hertz. A different lady answers (which means maybe she could have opened the night before.... I just assumed it was solo type shop). I explain the situation, she apologizes. I propose a solution: they come get one or all of us, bring us to rent our SUV and give us $200 off the rental (a one day one way rental was $600) and explain that $150 was wasted in taxi money and $50 for a massive inconvenience seems fair. She again apologizes but says they don't have a shuttle service except on fridays and they don't take money off, that's just something they do (really??!?! But leaving people out in the cold waiting until 1030pm IS something you do?!?!). She says the manager is in at 9. Honestly, by this time we have zero faith in this place and we just take a cab up to the airport and skip the stops we wanted to make. It really kind of ruined the end of the trip for me and very unnecessarily. It's one thing to gouge people on a rental... $600 for one day?!!! But then to treat them like this.... I hope nobody ever rents from them again... call PJ's taxi and give renee your business because she was SUPER reliable and communicative. This place should be ashamed of how they treated us!! I'd love to see them go out of business!!

She has 2 facilities: The main house (the A-Framed one) and the "cottages" across the street. My niece and I stayed in the main while my sister and her hubby stayed in one of the cottages. The cottages boast a full kitchen, with fridge, stove, sinks, microwave and even a stacked washer & dryer. Also being separate from the main house, if you're having a long stay, this would be ideal as you won't disturb anyone with comings & goings. There appeared to be 3 of these cottages. In the main, there are 5 bedrooms, ALL with private bathrooms! :) Soo makes a terrific breakfast that's included... forget those scrawny little donuts or cold cereals you'll see at a hotel. She made us scrambled eggs, sausage, muffins, home-made blueberry compote and fresh squeezed orange juice! I'm tellin' ya... it's a great way to start the day! She also knows the local area & can tell you about discounts and things to see. When we arrived, she showed us the code to get in, the etiquette (removing shoes- great cleanliness idea in Alaska), and showed us around her beautiful home. Soo also used to live in Anchorage, where my sister still lives and I used to, and owned a sewing shop. When we arrived, and my sister made the connection, and I off-handed asked if she could re-attach the handles on my favorite tote. I didn't really expect a yes...but she said YES! The next morning at breakfast, there was my repaired tote on the chair in the dining room. She refused any compensation, but I will be forever grateful. Soo is kind, gracious and staying at her home is FABULOUS!

DISABLED / MOBILITY ISSUE TRAVELERS BEWARE!…read more This hotel does not care about you! I am on a 100 day tour around Alaska and Canada and have travelled through the south eastern islands / marine highway and Haines Junction / Tok by this point with no issue. 5 nights booking. Stated in booking I had mobility issues. Did not check until I arrived then they downgraded me to a room on the second floor via elevator. Would they come get me in an emergency? Would not have chosen this hotel if I couldn't get the advertised room. The given room only had a single handrail in the bathroom a distance from the toilet or sink. The shower was not step-free but mostly step-free. There was no rubber mat. The breakfast was very difficult to use with a walker and there was no assistance. On 3 occasions non disabled guests parked or blocked the disabled spots, raised with front desk, did nothing. On two of those occasions the lots were also full and I had to walk with my walker a significant distance in the rain. They had company vehicles blocking spots preventing me entering and others leaving and when asked if they could move temporarily I was told no. On third occurrence of disabled use/blocking informed them if I see it again I will be contacting police. Supervisor told me he was unaware of these issues which means they must have never raised or discussed them among themselves. He got sarcastic with me and told me I should call the police right now. I said it's your hotel I'm doing you a courtesy by telling you and not calling the police but I will the next time I see it. I left the hotel at this point as I simply don't know if I can park there or trust they would rescue me. DO NOT STAY HERE Attached are some photos showing these issues

I'll start, notably, with the drivers who I remember much of (forgive me if I misspell the names). John - an amazing driver with quite an amazing personality. I love how he's easily engaging with everyone who hops on the bus and have quite a good sense of humor as well. Although I haven't ridden the busses for too long, I come to realize (and appreciate) that he is very honest. I am truly hoping to see him next season. Stacy - another amazing driver with also a very amazing personality. I believe she was the very first driver whom I interacted with and immediately felt welcomed. She's very straightforward/blunt, which is great as her actions kept the service running efficiently. It's hard to imagine the service without her and I'm also hoping to see her back next season. My memory isn't the best, so I have a hard time remembering some of the other names, but I've had amazing conversations with almost all of the drivers and have enjoyed all of them. As a year-round resident, the service has been essential and I've been very grateful for it. To the owners, I truly thank you for it. You and ALL of your staff are amazing.
