Niki is awesome! If you need or want to try deep tissue, definitely give her a call! Also offers cupping and other Eastern treatments.

I've been looking to try new yoga spots and booked a class one night with class pass. Yoga deck…read morecaught my eye because of the beautiful space. Definitely one of the most carefully crafted yoga studios I have ever been to. You sort of feel like you've been transported to somewhere in Southeast Asia. I love that there are heat lamps, blankets, and other accessories for use during the class. Although, the space is epic I didn't really find enjoyment in the class. It was supposed to be a relaxing low impact yoga class focusing on slow movements but I didn't really feel that at all. The instructor was nice but I found her transitions were confusing and sometimes didn't make sense. She wasn't really saying the name of the poses either. To me the instructions felt like I was taking a Pilates class. We were also holding the poses in my opinion way too long to the point I was actually feeling pain. And some poses were really advanced and didn't make me feel relaxed at all. I personally do not like it when there are lyrics in the music when I do yoga. Although it was more mellow indie songs I found it extremely hard to focus and it was kind of loud too. I would prefer just non lyrical relaxing music. At least for the part where we just sit/lay down towards the end. In summary, I don't think I would come back. I am used to donation based yoga around San Diego. If you want more traditional yoga I would just stick to the free classes around town.

The studio is clean and light, and they have a lot of nice equipment to use as far as blocks, bolsters, and blankets. I've been to a variety of types of classes here, but most recently I did a deep healing class taught by Tiffinie. It was pure magic and my body needed that. 75 minutes of slow postures that are held for a little bit longer, mobility exercises, and breathing. I will definitely return and I'd like to make it more of a habit to visit the studio. Plus, there's a great smoothie shop next-door and tasty coffee available at the brewery just down the street!

Unfortunately although I recommended this studio hundreds of times since I grew up down the street…read moreand have been a neighbor since Ginseng, I can no longer recommend. A business shows their values through their priorities. When I called and tried to book a class today I could only get an AI chat bot. It didn't understand that I was trying to book 1 of 2 available classes today. Then it couldn't find my account in the system. When someone called back later, he acted like I should've known that I could've just come in. Well maybe if someone answered or the website said that, I wouldn't have booked a class with a studio that answered my call. When the guy on the phone tried to offer assistance, another person who I didn't know was on the line started asking for my personal information. At this point I didn't even feel comfortable disclosing my name, and I don't feel welcomed or comfortable coming back to this studio. Sad because I had some really important emotional breakthroughs here. But I guess they don't even know I exist or have my account in their records so I don't know... I'm disappointed in South Park Yoga. And I do not want to support business that use AI like this. It's lazy, anti-human, anti-spirit, goes against everything I agree with and honestly, yoga is supposed to be about Purpose, Process, Soul, Intention, Grounding, REAL LIFE. What does it say about a yoga studio that uses AI? The soul is gone. Or it's AI generated now. Brad and Marilyn: I didn't know you were both on the line until you started talking over each other. It was uncomfortable. And yes it is a replacement for human connection when this is the result. And how was I supposed to know I could text a phone number? Yes, it has been years, but I was trying to come back... now I feel foolish trying to book. I am so utterly disappointed, especially in this response. I won't try and visit you all again don't worry.

Some of my favorite yoga teachers in San Diego gift their voice within, and offer YTT programs to grow the next generation of spirit builders. Returning after a break during the onset of Covid has rekindled much yogic joy in my mind & body. Spirit has adapted well to the needs of the community with safety measures that still allow for a healthy & enjoyable practice. Lately I've been relishing the 330pm Tuesday/Thursday classes with Sarah Mondet. A $5 community class, the 330pm timeslots are often given to newly minted yoga teachers honing their flows, pace, and playlists. Sarah's class has been an absolute joy, due to both her burgeoning powers as a teacher and also an inner light that cannot help but shine through to studio's practitioners. She's a fantastic testament to the Spirit YTT program and I look forward to every class (especially as a break while remote working!). I can't wait for more of her flows and to revisit some of San Diego's best teachers at the studio in the weeks ahead. Go grab a mat and make your way to Spirit!

Don't forget your yoga mat, but in case you do, they have some you can borrow that get sanitized between uses. Careful what you bring into the actual yoga studio if you don't want the puppies chewing it. They chewed my slides and my water bottle, but it didn't bother me. If you have stuff, there are some little cubby spaces available. It wasn't super hard to find parking; it took us maybe 5 minutes to park (street parking) and then we walked about 2 blocks. The class was totally worth it and you get the opportunity to adopt puppies if you like!

I had worked out a few days before and was still feeling sore going in, but by the time I left, the soreness was completely gone. The instructor Claire was amazing. She was super friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the entire class. She explained the poses well and offered adjustments so everyone could get the most out of the session. The only downside was how many people were in the class. It was super crowded, but they did a good job spacing everyone out so that you still had your own little area without bumping into anyone. The studio itself was very clean and had a calming, relaxing vibe that made it easy to unwind. Overall, it was a refreshing experience. If I was not moving to Chicago, I would definitely sign up for the membership.
