Great selection of plants and home decor. From candles to stationary supplies. They also have a great selection of air plants located in the back. The price is not too bad for a local business. The staff are super helpful and can help you find what you are looking along with plant education. If you are in town I would recommend this spot if you are a plant lover for indoor and outdoor plants.

2024 silver tip from Dig Gardens Aptos

Bought a silver tip in December 2024, and it was easily the prettiest Christmas tree I've had so far. It's my third year buying my trees here. I'll be back. Real trees are the way to go! Service was excellent as usual. Thank you!

Need plants, gifts for a friend or family, or even outdoor furniture? Dig Gardens is where you need to go. I've gotten multiple plants from this place and they are all well taken care of. It's such a cute store and I always look forward to going back. It's spacious, vibrant.... The only thing is it's hard to get ahold of staff to ask questions and the parking lot is very small so definitely time your arrival!!

This place is awesome! Tucked in at the back of a parking lot off Soquel Dr. in Aptos. This place is bigger than it initially seems, as it goes back pretty far and has several different sections including a greenhouse with tomatoes and other veggies and herbs. There is a section for shade lovers specifically, and even a cage of live doves for sale! They have a super cute little gift shop with various plants, succulents, and trinkets. The staff is super friendly and willing and able to help answer questions or give recommendations. Whether you're in the market for a new plant or not, come check this place out on a sunny day and enjoy the beauty of nature!

Nice garden store. Clean and lots of variety. They sell Christmas trees here during Christmas. They have a cute gift shop in front and the nursery is in the back. Succulents, trees, citrus, and more sold here!

Thank you to the lady who helped me save my pilia plant from breaking. A perfect place for the plant lover. So many wonderful gift ideas and a wide selection of pots and healthy plants. The staff here are always so helpful. Their Ecoforms pots are my fave.

We absolutely love Dig Gardens in Aptos! My daughter and I attend the Sunday morning garden club often. CJ is a horticulturist and master gardener. She has the best tips, tricks and advice for novice and experienced gardeners alike. It's a great time to network with like minded Cruzers! Yesterday our garden club consisted of a treasure hunt around the nursery with a treat at the end. So fun! Thank you, CJ!

Lots of vibrant blooms

This place rocks. Everyone is so helpful; there's a wide selection for such a small place, and they'll order anything you want.

Got my beautiful Begonia here and a Christmas cactus! Its so cute and so healthy…read more They put them in a cute lil gift box (My daughter bought them for me!) and it made me feel really special as I was having a hard week. I am a plant enthusiast and I love to hoard plants. This is a dangerous place for a plant hoarder! lol

Dig Gardens in Santa Cruz has it all: plants, trees, succulents, pots, planting accessories,…read morebooks, gifts, furniture, cards, and even jewelry.... But did you know they also have classes?!!! I KNOW, RIGHT?!! That's crazy. I thought they had everything, but now they really do! I took my first class at Dig Gardens: it was to make a Kokedama (a plant growing out of a moss ball that you can hang or place). It was taught by Kitty, whom I adore because, well, she's the sweetest. I picked a Lemon Lime Prayer Plant, named it "Stanley", and had to rework it several times to a point that it was almost embarrassing. Thankfully I know the instructor, so that made it better. Haha. The other "students" were awesome because aren't all plant parents and plant lovers the best?!! Well we all laughed when we lost leaves or messed up. It was really fun. This class included all the materials, tools, your choice of plant, and drinks (water or wine). No one surprisingly chose wine - I guess we took Kokodama very seriously! It was a 2 hour class but finished in 1.5 hours. It was around $65 I believe, and totally worth the experience as well as all the materials. Classes take place behind the store in a little workshop in the outdoor garden. Only a couple people took the class with a friend, and everyone else took it solo, like me. I would definitely take another class here.

After reading previous review reviews, I was a little apprehensive, walking in knowing what many others had experienced with their customer service. I will say when I walked in there was somebody who promptly greeted me and my husband, when we walked in and made some small talk. As we peruse the store, I did experience a little of what other people were saying as the employee seemed to keep popping up to chat with us as we per the store. I can understand why some customers may think that it may come off as the employees are watching you while you shop. I don't think that was what was happening at all. I think they were trying to definitely just be more friendly and welcoming, but I think they do need to tone down how many times they pop up while you are walking around the store. All of the items they have to offer are a fabulous quality and definitely a great spot to pick up gifts for others. When I'm in the area, I will definitely pop in and shop again.

The price point is expensive but expected at a small boutique store such as this. I could spent hours in here looking at all of the different items. My friend was coming in to exchange an item or swap it out for another item. After shopping around and finding another jacket that she liked we inspected the jacket because it was white and we wanted to make sure it was free of damage. We came across black marks on all of these white jackets and brought it up to an employee at the front. They attempted to clean it with a paper towel and maybe water? But unfortunately no luck. They mentioned that she could try to clear it with upholstery cleaner after she purchased it but at the price point of over $100 my friend decided to pass. She ended up returning her item and receiving store credit. The reason for my 3/5 rating is due to the expensive clothing being stained and the awkward exchange. Overall, I would come back and give this place a chance when in need of a unique gift.
