My wife and I never eat pretzels. In fact she usually hates them. But these aren't your ordinary pretzels. They are absolutely spectacular!

I totally recommend this place for cakes the whipped or buttercream frosting is the best I have ever had! It's not too sweet!! They definitely know how to Carmel and Tiramisu cake the best. They sell them $5.00 a slice! Red velvet is amazing too! The cake is so moist!! The Carmel they use definitely tastes homemade! They also have very friendly staff that run it. This bakery is owned by the same bakery in Allen Park. It's the same bakery that has cake slices for a $1.00 at the Allen Park Street Fair. Anyways..they have a little store that sells everything that is Michigan made! They also sell Calders milk and ice cream there. They sell things to decorate cakes with or cake decorations too! They even sell Fresh Eggs! They have Baklava, Cheese cake slices, fruit pies that look so delicious! And just so much more! They even have a little seating place outside to enjoy ice cream or whatever you buy there. It's a really cute gift shop inside! Filled with candles, soaps, clothing, coke collectors stuff, jams, jelly, butter and just so much more! Please come check this place out. They have been here in Taylor for a year and half now.

Tony Cannoli has always been a favorite of mine for nice Italian treats. This particular location…read moreis essentially a counter located inside of the Trentwood Farms grocery store but has everything that you expect out of a delicious Italian bakery. I believe they are related to Luca Pastry (same owner?) , which was a surprise when I picked up a business card and it listed both Tony Cannoli and Luca Pastry. No wonder I like both of them so much! I always get the cannoli here and usually one or two other items. This time I got: Italian/Sicilian Cannoli ($2.75) - The only difference is the topping studded on the ends of the cannoli. The Italian has chocolate chips while the Sicilian has ground almonds. Regardless of type, the shell is fresh and has a good cookie crisp, while the interior is filled with a ricotta cream mixture that is sweet, decadent, and very filling. The cannoli aren't made fresh to order, but I doubt they keep them in the case for longer than the day they are made considering how good they are every time. Eclair ($3.50) - The eclair has a thin chocolate ganache layer encrusting the top that melts easily in your hands. Underneath there's a thin shell of choux pastry that is generously filled with Bavarian cream. The cream is smooth and rich and not too sweet. Delicious! I especially love the Cannoli Paczki they have every year near Paczki day. They didn't have them yet when I went, but I will definitely be back soon to get some. If you're looking for some delicious sweets, give Tony Cannoli a try! Edit: I went back to Tony Canolli in February to pick up a Cannoli Paczki, this time to compare against two other bakeries in Metro Detroit. Cannoli Paczki ($3.25) - The ricotta filling is delicious as always. Sweet, slightly tangy, rich and dense. The mini chocolate chips studded in the overflowing filling is a nice touch to really tie down the cannoli twist. The paczki dough felt the most industrialized of the three places I tried. It felt kind of like commercial brioche - very uniform with what seems to be a decent amount of dough conditioner and stabilizers. The taste of the dough isn't nearly as developed as my top choice (New Palace Bakery). It also felt like the dough was maybe a little dried out, perhaps sitting out for a while in the display case. To be honest, I probably wouldn't have noticed some of these characteristics if I hadn't been doing a direct comparison and instead was eating this in a vacuum. Overall the paczki is still good. It's just not the best of the best.

It's a family-owned and operated business, and I love that it's been passed down from generation to generation. You can really feel the care they put into everything. The service is amazing, and I absolutely love the ladies that always take care of me. The ambience is great too -- it's usually quiet and never really packed (except maybe on Paczki Day, and that's about it ). Their puffs are so good, and their donuts are beyond amazing -- the dough is seriously like no other. They recently made peanut butter & jelly brownies and they are phenomenal. I really hope they keep those around as a weekly (or everyday!) special because they're that good. Their cannolis are amazing, cookies are great, and the turnovers are so good too. The caramel apple danishes are to die for, and the banana caramel cream pies are delicious. The mini cheesecakes are amazing too. They also make pepperoni rolls stuffed with cheese, sauce, and pepperoni and OMG they are so good. Their Cajun homemade bread is amazing too. I honestly can't say enough good things -- I've loved this place for years and I'll keep coming back!
